I assume you're just wanting Hollow Knight discussion but if you are new to the game, it's a fun metroidvania. The main drawback is that basic powerups are locked behind equitable charms which take up limited space on you're guy
ive played many metroidvanias
hollow knight sucks at it
combat is super weird too and you have to constantly change passives (theyre all either qol or extremely negligible combat bonuses)
It’s very polished and nice to look at, but it commits the metroidvania cardinal sin of movement abilities and traversal being boring as frick. Your movement speed is agonizingly slow and the abilities you unlock don’t really change up the gameplay at all. Most of the focus is on the combat, which isn’t very good. All of the bosses are mostly distinct, which is great, but the actual gameplay of fighting them boils down to poke, jump, poke. I think it’s overrated and its fans are obnoxious, but it’s worth a playthrough.
Not only is it that good it has it all.
Fantastic blind playthrough
Easy base game difficulty that makes a steel soul run somewhat casual and relaxing rather than insurmountable
Hard as nails free optional dlc
I think the base game is too easy and they went too hard in the opposite direction with the DLC bosses, they're not impossible or anything but they're way more involved than anything else
Kinda just picked it up at random expecting a dumb indie game and I really enjoyed it to be honest.
Good to play through blind, good consistent art style and music etc. It's not essential by any means but fun if you like metroidvanias.
I'm playing through Blasphemous right now and it's been scratching the same itch.
Yes.
Yep.
I don't know how good "THAT" good is, but I enjoyed it very much yes
It's impossible to tell, no one can play this game anymore after the events of 2020.
Unironic slop aside from the music.
I liked it at the time but can't look at it the same ever since Silksong never ever'd
>THAT good
What does mean? Is it 10/10? Hell no. But it's very good nonetheless.
No, it's pure trash.
It's not even just good

>and you have to constantly change passives
You don't need to use a single charm.
then why have it at all you smartass

It's nice if you like platformers. I played for a bit but didn't really get into it.
boring as frick
Silksong status?
Silkwhat?
Silkhuh?
Two more weeks
What are you gays talking about?

The b*nfire mechanic was absolute cancer.

You’ll like it if you like nintendo games. It feels like one. I didn’t like it.
Any games contrarians hate THAT MUCH is THAT good.
I will never play it but i guess it is.
7/10 game
I still haven't played it, despite my favourite game being a metroidvania I don't know if I'll like Hollow Knight. Maybe this summer.
Good game, but as a metroidvania, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom was better.
I hated nearly everything about it. The level design and the art direction were extremely lazy.
Its fun, however
>Reddit Knight
now (You) can't enjoy it
It's good, but the world is a bit too big relative to the player's speed so it ends up being a chore to get around.
I liked it.

>ctrl + f "map"
>no matches
the map system is shit
Lost interest after an hour or so. Idk if I'll pick it up again.
