you have to either boot into an external winPE or go into safe mode (external winPE is best as safe mode still sometimes limits you) and manually delete the windows update related .dll and .exes from the system32 folder. been awhile since i didi it but you can rip out windows update and it cant fix itself. done it multiple times in the past on builds 1809-2004, should still work on 22h2 nothing major has changed in the update engine. when you do this you can never update windows thou it will be stuck on the build and updates you have installed permanently. (unless you add back the deleted files)

Does that work or are you trying to trick me? I tried that once to rip out all the Cortana services, and it bricked my computer because it was too integrated with so many system critical processes. I'm about to go back to Linux despite the headaches with that, because at least if it fricks up, it's my fault and it's my problem. Now Windows can frick up my computer whenever it wants, and it's their fault but it's my problem.
I literally can't play most of my games now because Windows decided to force an update on my computer without my permission. Not just Palworld, most of my shit just isn't working anymore. Everything was fine yesterday.

you ripped out something that was a core feature. you don't need to rip out 100% of everything related to windows update (or in your case cortona, although i have no experience with this as i never had cortana reenable itself i just turn it off and it stays off, so i never attempted to remove it). just a select few files will do it. rip out too many and you will brick.
You don't get an off button. If you have Windows, you are essentially just renting your computer from Microsoft and they have full control over it. Any "control" they give you is temporary and can be revoked at any time.
I disabled updates with a group policy and they haven't re enabled themselves. So whatever you say. Also I disabled the spyware and telemetry with scripts.

It has one outstanding aspect (the Pals and their designs) and every other area of the game is bland and generic. I still liked it, but it lacks an interesting world, story and actually good dungeons. It wastes so much potential, I hope the devs step up their games in updates or a sequel.
A story would be fine but i think they should really go all in on the potential for picking factions, be joining the PETA homies and wreck shit in order to ""liberate"" the pals or join the syndicate and start being a thug shaker, or even join Black Marketeer and start doing some real underground level of shit or help and assist neutral settlements that don't want any smoke with the syndicate, don't agree with the PETA and certainly do not want to frick around and find out with the marketeer, Or a true neutral faction that's just you vs the world and you have to deal with various levels of wanted levels, from just being a target for PETA to the point of having the entire fricking island of palpagos after your ass and drop a humongous raid on your ass.
The game has potential for some good campaign and i hope PP delivers.

Trying to force driver updates led to Windows entirely removing it from Device Manager.
By setting the battery usage to max and unplugging the computer, then restarting it, suddenly it remembered the Nvidia card and began using it as normal, like before.
Good waste of 60 hours.
