It's the desktop version of Immortal, it's okay if you liked that

      no, it's more like immortal

i bet you never played immortal
immortal is actually way more engaging and fun
also has much better endgame and mmo/social elements

No shit. It’s obvious they spent more time and development on Immortal, the dumb chink even said DO YOU HAVE PHONES? or whatever and there was zero press hype for Diablo 4. They knew they were making a scam with no end game
Why is there no set pieces?

It's basically closer to Diablo Immortal than any other Diablo game so take that as you will.
You might like it or hate it due to how it wastes your.

Diablo 1 and 2 were made to be fun, diablo 3 and 4 were made to be manipulative treadmills where the fun is just behind the next microtransaction.

      Diablo 3 had microtransactions? What?
Immortal sure because it was a mobile game but not 3.

When it launched it had the necro as purchasable dlc, and a real money item auction. Pretty sure that counts

          Anonymous

No, when it launched it had the auction house and you was a fool to buy items there for real money since you could just buy them for gold.
And that was also gone when loot 2.0 came.
Reaper of souls then came and then on patch 2.6.0 there was the dlc with necromancer.
I don't think they count entirely when comparing it to limited time cosmetics being locked behind paywalls and battlepass bullshittery.

it's better imo, i did like the rune system from d2, it would be cool with something like that and more uniques, alas. maybe later
the season stuff is interesting this time with blood runes and vampire events
you have the sigil dungeon things still and helltide too
loads of builds are viable, im playing a blood necro with an aoe pull and bomb, p.fun
some of the fancy cosmetics cost money in the battlepass but you get some currency for free to save, i think two seasons of free rewards will allow you to buy a premium pass on the third season or later whenever you want, you get some free shit cosmetics and xp boosts/ drop boosts etc from the free pass
it only costs £9 for the premium pass anyway, it isnt much. it's the price of two fricking pizzas in bongland
the battlepass whining is over dramatic, you dont need it but it doesnt cost much either

It's worse than all of the other games
imagine greater rifts but you have to jump through hoops and loot after every pack and theres giant gay rocks chasing you that will 1 shot you if you arent constantly running in circles

moronic burger consoomerism will keep the burning husk that is Blizzard afloat into perpetuity.
It's buy first, as critical questions later.
And by asking critical questions, I mean wait for your favorite youtuber to tell you when it's time to jump uncritically into the next game they're paid to shill.

How's immortal? I see that it's available on pc. I don't really care about grinding forever but in general I liked to kill demons with some shitty story camping in d2-3. I'm thinking about getting d4 because most shitters seem to be crying about end game and I personally don't care about that in a single player game. However I'm not sure whether or not immortal is mandatory from a story perspective.

No but the constant whining about it it'worse than the game. Just play other games if it's bad.

I never played 3, but this is pretty much what I'd expect from a modern and more casual Diablo game. It was released unfinished but they've been pretty good about fixing all the complaints people have had. Combat is more fun than most in the genre and that's what keeps me playing. It's getting better with each update so the longer you wait to try it the better your experience will be.

What's the difference between console and pc? Am I going to be forever alone if I'm playing on ps4? Is there a split screen coop or something?

      Anonymous

no difference, there's full crossplay so it's all the same game world and content

Don't you need a ps subscription or something?

I haven't played on consoles since PS3 and all online was free in those days. I heard Sony has a forced subscription now but that's not specific to one game.

it has couch coop, and thanks god. it is the only thing that makes the game fun

NO! This is literally the absolute worst Diablo game ever made. Even Immortal has it's own niche. This is a mutation of all of them, with XP nerfs and level scaling.

FRICK anyone that complains about Diablo 3. It's seasonal mode blows Diablo 1 and 2 out of the water, and I've been playing since day one. Instead of finding groups of people to mess around with, the game itself provides entertainment. That said, either the season is over or some weird shit is happening because I booted Diablo 3 up today and couldn't connect.

Only when it comes to art direction. Gameplay and progression is abysmal, made for the D3 crowd that just wants to see number grow bigger
