Is it dumb to purchase miniatures for a game that you have no intention of playing? Pic related. Do they intentionally assign the best sculptors to the least played games?

do you think every person on the planet only buys miniatures that they expect to game with? No, miniatures and assembling, painting, displaying them is a hobby all of it's own.

It's just one of those GW mysteries, the stuff they put out for their 'specialist games' is some of the best stuff they do. Maybe they have a situation going on that is like the American comic book industry. You see, some of the very best, highly acclaimed runs of books have resulted from the higher-ups handing off a character that they don't care about. They say: "Moon Knight? HA! No one cares about Moon Knight! Give it to John McFrickface and just let him do whatever he wants, I don't care." And then because John doesn't have corporate breathing down his neck and is actually able to do what he wants, presto! John actually makes something good! Maybe something similar happens at GW. In fact now that I've spelled it out I'm almost sure of it.
(I don't care if GW doesn't it call it specialist games anymore. I'm still calling it that and yes I'm mad)
kind of nuts how this and gnomes are in the same wave. This looks like a design from 2013 and not in a good way. When you look at them compared to the other games, it almost seems like the b team designs 40k
Yeah. I have no intention of ever playing Infinity but I still buy the miniatures.
[Spolier]and never paint them[/spoiler]
forgot pic. look at this stubby looking dude. I want to swap his head with a beard and turn him into a dwarf.
How does shit like this get through QC?
...GW famously doesn't have any.
For example, about two years ago some people who ordered the Blood Bowl Rat Ogre via Forgeworld received the Norse Team Yhetee/Snow Troll (I can't remember which one we're using this time, they swap back and forth)
...except, the Norse team had yet to be released. We hadn't even heard RUMOURS that the norse team was next down the pipeline, let alone what positionals they would have. It was a blunder of epic fricking proportions.
Not to be confused with Legions Imperialis, which is both in Epic proportions and one long series of blunders.

ToW doesn't have any good sculpts.
Then I guess it's actually selling.
when you sell regardless of what you do why put in the effort?
Why bother sculpting a good marine if they are going to buy it anyway.
As someone who owns a fair bit of Aeronautica? Yeah... it kind of feels that way sometimes...
>Team is called the groundhogs
>Not a single groundhog present
Good sculpts though. I'd take those over most of GW's output these days.
Silly anon. Groundhogs aren't real.
I picked up my blood bowl team (Halflings ) during the first covid lockdown, fun lil project that was different
I then started playing the video game, which got me to join a local chill league this year
Get models cos you like them anon, you can always pick up the game later
>Do they intentionally assign the best sculptors to the least played games?
Rumor has it that 40k is simultaneously what they have novice sculptors work for, and Marines/Stormcast are what they have to FORCE the veteran sculptors to make because they are fricking boring to work with. And once the mandatory number of marine kits for the year has been met they get to go off and make stuff they actually want to make.
wonder who wanted to make a Gnome Bloodbowl team then since Gnomes were completely forgotten about until a couple of years ago.
It is dumb to give JW money.
aaand pic related. Am going to get this too. I'll put them in the display case next to the lime green Deathkorps of Krieg. What color schemes are folks going to try with these guys?
You know what could be fun?
