Final boss feels fricked on melee. All of his moves puke lingering aoe shit right ontop of him, not sure how to win with daggers unless I just have so much damage that it doesn’t matter.
i really don't know how to approach any of the fights in this game from a melee perspective. the witch is fine and has easily telegraphed attacks, the clam's main attack makes her front a dead zone while she's always invincible from the back, dog is constantly nuking itself, grandpa is a bullet hell
Clam is fine since it’s just that one move that fricks you. You just have to ignore her and focus down the others. When she does the spinning thing you can just hit her, dog is fine on melee too since his back is mostly safe besides really slow attacks which makes it easy for daggers. Cronos is a huge pain. He keeps doing that attack where he dashes and has the line that explodes if you touch it and then just sits in it over and over. And his entire front side is always dangerous to melee with him turning around quickly, since he can do that massive wipe so fast.

Chronos' attacks are super slow. The way to melee is to always dash behind him and wail on him. When he revs up the next swing, dash behind him again. Most often he will miss the follow up swing or cancel the dash because you're behind him.
When he does the sucking move or the time stop circle on himself just run away, it's very telegraphed. In general he is the most dangerous when you're NOT close to him. Attacks like the super fast boomerang throw get nullified by just standing behind him.
Cerberus can be abused the same way by staying behind him. Clam fight sucks and is just about killing her friends as fast as possible. Especially the drummer. It's easier to just ignore Scylla until she's alone.
Heavy Aphrodite user here. >the clam's main attack makes her front a dead zone while she's always invincible from the back
She's got lots of downtime and all of her attacks are telegraphed, the only really dangerous move she has is the charged hit but it's super slow. >dog is constantly nuking itself
The circle aoes are slow and have visible timing indicators (they explode when the roots reach the edge of the circle), most attacks can be avoided by staying at his back. For the slams you just dodge as you see them but you have to be careful to dodge the one handed slam to the opposite side so the huge shockwave doesn't clip you. You have ample time to dodge/block even when using the axe. >grandpa is a bullet hell
Don't have much experience against him yet but it feels like he requires good positioning and waiting for the right time to strike. The bullet hell attacks felt like the easiest to dodge for me though.
Here was my build. I mostly just put him in a zeus cast, let my minion attack him, and when it was very safe jumped in but only when I knew it was safe.
>not sure how to win with daggers
The trick to daggers is the same as the bow in the first game - Aspect of Pan, get hammers to upgrade your special so you're throwing out eight daggers in one line that all return for extra backstab.
So much this. Even the basic sword in the first game was a lot of fun with the pushing attack on the last combo hit. Starter weapon in this game is just meh. Only useful for spamming the new mana abilities. Also the daggers were a clear step down from the fists in the first game. For the "fast weapon" of the game they lack the high risk/high dps playstyle the fists had as you do the most damage just spamming ranged attacks. The new big axe is great fun and i like that weapon outside of the channel on the parry ability being too long.
Yes.
It does have some balance issues but overall it feels good and there's plenty of fun builds. It's EA so it has some missing art assets and no ending to the story but it already has more levels than the first game.
cleared after 18 hours, pretty fun although the balance is a little rough around the edges. it requires more thought to play than hades i - using both your cast and your weapon in tandem is basically required for effective play, and you can't spam/stack dodges so you have to avoid putting yourself in dangerous positions. all the weapons are kinda rough though and the boons are weird
I kinda felt the opposite. A lot of the time I would either stack perks that helped one move and just not even have a boon for most of my other slots, so I just spammed that one attack over and over again.
i see what you're saying. i generally have to pick between my special and my main attack, but i always want something on the cast because the snare effect is so good. free damage
Very fun, unfortunately being used as fodder for the culture war by both sides
Ignore people who either complain about the art style or act like the style suits their agenda, both of these groups are insufferable
Ugly troony game championed by the same Leftists screeching about Stellar Blade. Godly feminine beauty is the bane of demonic Leftists and trannies. Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and Chud of Chuds.
Beauty is God's will and ugliness is the result of sin. This is why Leftists and trannies push for ugliness in games.
You posting that in this thread about Hades 2 exposes you as a seething Leftist troony enraged at how beautiful Eve is. God has utterly BTFO Leftists and trannies with Eves beauty and its glorious.
No I am christian and I agree that hades characters look like trannies I just think using Jesus as an argument while posting what's basically softcore porn is strange

If you were actually being led by The Holy Spirit you wouldn't be arguing against me and would understand the importance of Stellar Blade and Eves design in relation to God's will.
Pray more and ask The Father for direction from The Holy Spirit in your life and as you read God's Word.
more resource management, both during runs with the mana system and out-of-runs with arcana cards replacing the old darkness system. i don't think it's much of an improvement but it is different enough for me to enjoy both for distinct reasons
nta and unrelated to his take, but man the maracas and skull suck ass compared to the others.
Also hammer upgrades have too many underwhelming options.
Skull felt pretty good to me. I just used it as a shotgun, shooting skulls at point blank range. The charged shots feel pretty bad to use and the "dash" still making you take damage from ground-based damage is pretty idiotic when you compare it to the shield in Hades 1
>out of nowhere a group of people start the culture war back-and-forth without provocation
Gee, I'm sure this was a normal, organic progression of the thread's discussion.
Looks and sounds great.
Boring af combat, sucks as a roguelite.
The "Roguelite with a cohesive story" idea was novel and worked much better in the first one, while the gameplay was never its strong side, so idk what was the point of making this one other than cashgrab
hades ii probably never should have been made. same with darkest dungeon 2, the devs couldn't throw away the cash on the table even if their hearts weren't totally in it
>objectively wrong
that's just like, your opinion man. people would have liked whatever the company put out after hades well enough, they basically reinvented the wheel between bastion>transistor>pyre before deciding to just double down on strong mechanics and story with hades (presumably because pyre was too avante-garde and flopped miserably).
People also wanted sequels of every other supergiant game (except for pyre probably lol), yet you didn't see them make bastion 2 or anything.
Really, every half-decent game has fans wanting a sequel.
In case of hades, first game's story was nicely wrapped up, and the gameplay didn't get much better in 2. The reason it was made is because 1 made them more money than all their previous games combined.
At least it'll fund their future endeavors i guess.
took a fun game and made it worse. gathering reagents and ingredients is barely tolerable, and the idea that you can only take one harvesting item with you on a run is absolute bullshit
>the idea that you can only take one harvesting item with you on a run is absolute bullshit
You unlock the tradehouse eventually where you can simply buy stuff for bones, also Charon's orders etc. However I agree, it's just more padding to make the game longer than it should be.
i edged to melinoe
It's a lot more difficult than the first one
yea

Melee does get to do a lot of damage at least

Yes
it is especially if you liked the first game
however most weapon fricking such and are boring compared to the first game

its a reskin
just pirate it and give it a try
This. It has more ways to keep you grinding in comparison to 1 but the story is worse. It'll still scratch the Hades itch though, so worth a play.
Yes.
It does have some balance issues but overall it feels good and there's plenty of fun builds. It's EA so it has some missing art assets and no ending to the story but it already has more levels than the first game.
>early access
I enjoyed the first one but cmon
I will never play it because the 2014 tumblr art style offends me

It's the same game.
I played hades 1 and beat it once then put it down, is this just more of the same or is it an actual improvement

Answering the wrong question
>6/10 asiaticslop that is atually 4/10 without the fanservice
>"b-but the culture war bro"
lmao
You posting that in this thread about Hades 2 exposes you as a seething Leftist troony enraged at how beautiful Eve is. God has utterly BTFO Leftists and trannies with Eves beauty and its glorious.
Repent to Jesus Christ or else it'll get worse.
I don't think Jesus would approve of you jerking off over vidya characters tho
You don't think about Jesus Christ at all to begin with, so why comment about Him aa if you know Him and His will? Repent.
And I call Eve sexy and Aphrodite a demonic troony.
No I am christian and I agree that hades characters look like trannies I just think using Jesus as an argument while posting what's basically softcore porn is strange

Grummz calls himself Centrist-Left, by the way.
does improve over the first game, or is it more of the same with new enemies/power upd
more resource management, both during runs with the mana system and out-of-runs with arcana cards replacing the old darkness system. i don't think it's much of an improvement but it is different enough for me to enjoy both for distinct reasons
It's fun when the bugs don't ruin your runs
It looks like Hades 0.5
Needs a mod to make everyone white. Can't play this shit
How finished is this woke trash? I don't want to playtest an early access game
Wasn't the first game in early access for years?
Not at all finished unfortunately. You can beat Chronos and explore half the other path but that's it.
>what is early access
doesn't matter, the game is not even finished.
I dont get it, its the same game
It's ugly
It's exceptionally mid. 4 weapon types. It's just lazy under the guise of early access at a full price tag
>4 weapon types
Clearly not even played it.
nta and unrelated to his take, but man the maracas and skull suck ass compared to the others.

True, Blades, Staff and Axe are really the only viable weapons. Same thing happened in 1 where nobody would use Bow or Gun.
Bow was op in 1, especially with Artemis' boon
There's the staff, the scycle, the hammer, and the fire one. Sure the skull is unique but you are autistic if you can't count 4
Is there any good action games based on greek mythos that aren't hades or gow
Titan Quest i guess. It is an "action" RPG but probably not what you're after
Yes, but Ganker will say otherwise.
I will not buy Hades 2
I will not play Hades 2
I will not even pirate Hades 2
damn, they all look better than any forgettable dogshit npc in censoredblade LMAO
Yes but it has balance issues to polish.
It's more of the same as the first one
If you liked 1, you'll like 2.
If you didn't, you won't

It's not an opinion, it's a fact. Just because you don't personally like something doesn't mean it shouldn't be made
i like hades ii. "should have" is inherently an opinionated statement. be less stupid

Yes. But it did take me a minute to stop trying to play it like 1. Once I stopped trying to dash unga and start going ham with magic it all clicked.
