I'm braindead and I almost have fun but that's only because I've played only the first 3 games and a bit of Black and Go! Most of the pokemon are new ish to me so it keeps it interesting. I have 3 badges on my 2nd playthrough with a tsareena, mudsdale, orbbeetle, kickbunny, Saladin, and replaced a golispod for this electric bunny lizard, heliosomething.
I avoided all trainer battles and didn't train my pokemon and it was a bit of a challenge but I didn't really use strong pokemon, I used pokemon I liked such as weavile, vespiquen, scrafty, whimsicott etc. I had trouble with the fairy gym, that one was tough since my 6 member team was weak to fairy and also 5 or more levels below the fairy gym levels. It was fun, but I really had to limit myself. As a whole sword is just ok, you have a not bad not good story until the lulzy rose Leon debacle at the end, I thought the dlc were alright. It's nothing I would go out of my way to recommend or buy, someone else had bought it and the dlc as a gift for me. It was just alright, barely competent or incompetent. I'd imagine the experience is not as good with less people online though.
If you like Pokemon, you'll like it. If you're some autistic 20-something dude clinging to "the same game but I was a kid so i'll pretend i had fun walking in reused tileset caves" then no
Fricking terrible like every Switch pokemon game. And I do mean all of them. There is plenty of autistic discourse about whether or not 3D was the downfall of pokemon or which 3D pokemon is the worst, but that's all subjective horseshit pushed by schizos and discord trannies who have nothing to look forward to in life besides shitting up the board daily. The objective truth is that Sword and Shield marked the death of this franchise, by proving moronic pokehomosexuals will always support the brand no matter what, no matter how many times shitfreak lies to their faces. You bought it anyway. Unironically, literally have a nice day, and make sure to frick up somehow so you die in agony.
Im still at awe that your pic related was actually greenlit at gamefreak. Creating a proper rotating 3D model is shit that devs in the late 90s already figured out and look at what these clowns are doing today
nta, but I'll spell it out for you.
There hasn't been a pokemon game released since SM that is actually better than SM. If you look backward, there are better games. But forward? Each worse than the last, PLA excluded.
I've been having a lot of fun with it now that I'm bored of sv and burnt out on pla. People take shit too serious and think everything that isn't perfect is shit.
No, not really. Railroad map designs besides the glorified Safari Zone that is the Wild Area, lacking art style that is hard to defend, cities/towns feel like copypaste regarding what buildings they've got and feel shallow because so many can't be even be entered and are there for looks. You've got places you wish you could go to very often. Wild Area has a single ruin but it's just there to fool you. Same goes for the lighthouse in one of the cities. There's no victory road and the "post game" if you can even call that has a really big and empty city with barely any NPC's and places you can go to. Is it more fun than S/V? Definitely. It at least can run and doesn't look as garbage.
depends on how you play it. rushing it and not engaging in the wild areas, raids and other optional activities makes the game not enjoyable.
Try to get the isle of armor dlc, kubfu is cool.
The worst part about Sword & Shield is how much gacha shit is in it. There are a lot of instances where they make you save the game before doing any tedious RNG rolls.
Want to use an Alcremie? Better use one of your 3 daily rolls well because that's the only way to evolve Milcery. And if it's not a color you want, too fricking bad.
Want a fossilmon? Don't even bother before postgame because you won't get enough Watts to roll the fossil guy.
It was the most fun I think I ever got out of a single release, but a lot of that was the multiplayer (all pokemon single player campaigns are brainlessly bad in story and difficulty if you're not a 7 year old) so I don't think you should bother playing it now that all the online activity is in SV.
Though, oddly enough, you can still find battles and trades in it easily.
You probably missed out on what made it the most fun at this point, but people most likely still play the games. I really enjoyed them, especially the DLC.
They are literally the worst pokemon games ever made. People may have a a rageboner for some other generation and consider them their personal most hated, but SwSh are objectively the worst.
no
But can you make it fun with restrictions (level caps, no items, no fainting) or is it still pretty braindead?
I tried playing it with no exp share and it was still moronic.

this is the least fun pokemon game
actually that's SV but close
It's an extremely easy GBA romhack with Wii visuals.
If you're gonna play it send an invoice first
You need to learn self-respect and not touch this game.
No, it sucks. It made me hate Pokémon.
Play it for 10 minutes and you can judge pretty quick.
I really like the aesthetics in this game tbh. Love the fairy tale vibe in Glimmwood Tangle. SV definitely feels more bland
It's a glorified 3ds game, a waste of potential.
If you like Pokemon, you'll like it. If you're some autistic 20-something dude clinging to "the same game but I was a kid so i'll pretend i had fun walking in reused tileset caves" then no
you are a worthless moron
no it sucks fricking dick
if you're a mouth breathing moron maybe you'll find it fun

Literally Breath of the Wild itself has npcs that spin in place. Gamefreak was just too dumb to position the camera at an angle that shows the feet.
So they had two solutions and took neither
>SwSh marked the death
>implying the homosexualry that SM was didn't
nta, but I'll spell it out for you.

The only good thing about these games (supposedly) was the customization but even not really since a lot people ended up modding the game to get more.
Yes, this game is extremely fun. The Pokémon Camp mode is so much fun playing with the eeveelutions. theres a zoom-in button too.
the actual game is also kinda fun
It's okay and the dlc gives you a ton of mons to pick from. Start is definitely annoying just not as bad as Sun and Moon thankfully.

Worst pokemon game ever
Which says a lot considering how buggy SV is

Just replace "Jim" with "Digimon Sword version" and you'll have your answer.
Still, it has more appeal than Soilet and violet, but not by much.

You really paid 90$ to play showdown

See how you dont explain why its fun. It just is
