No
I've played only for a few hours but the answer is "no" for me.
Everything feels like a slog to keep on top of stuff and divvying up responsibility would help a lot even if that means there's more mouths to feed.
It could just be that I'm bad at the game, but so far I haven't got much desire to play it any more.
No. The gameplay is designed around having at least one other person to interact with. It gets extremely tedious and boring alone.
I can't imagine it would be
I have a bunch of fun playing this game and 7 days to die with my friends, but I'd never touch those games solo
Progression is pretty slow, with or without friends. If you like doing simple but repetive stuff for at least half the game with very few upgrades, then it might be your thing.
I love the game, but I wouldn't play it alone. At least for the first half.
Just tried it. Uninstalling.
good survival game is 20% sustaining yourself (finding food, water etc), 80% exploring and finding new stuff
this game is 5% exploring, 20% sustaining, 80% collecting planks
>105%
based moron
You gotta do more than 100% every single time you do something anon, you don't do that too?
but yeah anon is being a moron as always
>quick maths
idk im having some decent fun. i built a shitload of collectors early so i rarely have to hook in materials. my biggest problem is exploring the big islands so far feels very tedious, not sure if there's a way to remedy that.
It's only fun without friends
The game initially wasn't made with multiplayer in mind
last time i played was before the recent update. did they change any big gameplay mechanics?
No. All the new items are upgraded versions of the old ones. Like Advanced batteries, Advanced Anchors, Advanced Water Purifiers, Advanced Grills etc. And all of them require high amounts of titanium. The new islands play the same way as the previous islands. Jump puzzles, fetch items, new vending machine with furnitures as reward. It was a really disappointing update to be honest. They only new thing they added is a snowmobile for the snow area.
they also added a bunch of npcs and voice acting in the game so the feeling of immersing yourself in this desolated world is complete
butcher at the first island
It's not particularly fun with friends either:
>food making busy work
>constantly dealing with the shark/bird
>progression means increasingly absurd space requirements (and more busy work)
>durability is poor on pretty much everything
I don't know if you can't unlock extra character skins multiplayer or if it was just because they were only added later, but all being identical is annoying.
It stops being fun when it changes focus from building your raft to pve, story and shitty jumping puzzles.
>turn off food/hunger/aggressive animals
busy work done.
