If the characters yelling “Baal Busters” every once in a while is what’s going to stop you from enjoying a game, maybe you’re not actually here for rpgs, and should check out a Visual Novel.

BD2 is simply inferior in almost everyway and the insincere opinion of the "majority" is of little matter
I’d argue that BD2 while flawed, is overall better than second from a story perspective. Second is a better game from the gameplay perspective but I will never ever forgive Seconds atrocious story telling.
I had fun with it by using some obviously broken skills and strategies, but a friend of mine who tried to play it more 'legitimately' had a miserable time because bosses pull a lot of unforeseeable bullshit.
It's good, but not great. The difficulty curve is moronic (chapter 1 is the hardest in the game) and has some poorly-done mechanics like enemy counters, but I found the gameplay fun. The story on the other hand... I liked it for the first three chapters, but it goes to shit starting with chapter 4. The game was released unfinished and it shows.
Bravely Default is discount FF5. 2 is kinda shit.
It's shit compared to the first and especially the second ones.
Funny how the director (I think) said that Second was a mistake and yet the general opinion seems to be that it's still better than Default II.

BS has the most jobs, and the most unique and interesting jobs. It also builds on BD with a more goofy light plot. It's the peak of the series.

This is how I feel about it, but it's also funny that BD2's swiss cheese story still manages to be better than whatever Second was trying to do.

I hate the way the chibis look. It was cute on the 3DS, but just looks amateur on the Switch. Hard contradiction to their art portraits.
