Yes, it is good. Not great but solid. There are still plenty of bugs, AI is braindead and every bugfix manage to introduce few more new bugs but it is fun, it is extremely replayable and there is shitload of great mods.

The developer recently imploded and it remains to be seen if they're going to rally from this and figure shit out or just slowly fizzle.

No, 3 is awful because they somehow made settlement battles worse. WH2's sieges were boring and clearly not as fleshed out as much as even Medieval 2 but were ok and fun sometimes. They took the request for reworked sieges and instead added homosexual buildable tower defense game plus with giant gross ui stickers covering the map, made the maps giant and 360 but forgot they have trash ai especially pathfinding so even over a year later the ai can't navigate the maps even semi coherently, and they added multiple moronicly spaced capture points that again have awful UI floating stickers that ruin the immersion and make the game so much worse. In other words, CA shit the bed and are probably going to collapse and good fricking riddance, I feel so burned after being so hyped for 3 after Mortal Empires was very fun and somehow they took a giant steaming dump on the final installment
It's very good, would be great but some facets like ai and siege battles let it down. Has a horrible exploitative monetization method and that alone is enough to ward off potential new players.

the only thing they need to fix is the AI. Then they can let it die and let the modders take over.

Mods can fix the AI as well, CA just needs to finish the DLCs so modders don't need to worry about every update breaking mods.
