I'd say that overall, yes. It was a massive improvement over 1 and X. The gatcha shit is annoying but at the same time it allows for a pretty unique playthrough that nobody else will have
3 was great, 3's DLC was also great, but it just wasn't 2. There's just something about 2
The super system having to involve different elements is still the best
But, as anon says the games battle system and other systems are different enough that it's really hard to say what is really objectively the best. Which is why the series is freaking great
>massive improvement over X
eh? X and 1/2/3 are so different as to be incomparible, how do you qualify stating that 2 is a "massive improvement" over X when it barely has any of the same stuff? you mean a massive improvement in terms of character model faces? you can't mean in terms of world design...
It depends on what you're into. I legitimately loved the gacha system for example, it was exciting getting good pulls. I could see people hating the gacha though.
>I legitimately loved the gacha system for example, it was exciting getting good pulls.
anon... >I could see people hating the gacha though.
ok, I was getting ready to beat you with my shoe
>Gacha system >Character designs are all over the place thanks to giving the in house and guest artists near unlimited freedom >Terrible tutorials >Rushed and often times laughable dub (even the sub is the weakest in the trilogy) >Story doesn't get good until half way through the game
I should hate it, and yet I like it almost as much as the first game which is one of my all time favourites. I guess my autistic brain can look past some hot garbage if the good stuff is good enough.
Nope, it ruined Xenoblade on Ganker, not even XB3 could end the coomers circlejerking this game and now no one but coomers gives a shit about Xenoblade on here
I love it a lot, it and 3 switch places as my personal favorite depending on the day.
That being said, the fans are going through the annoying phase XC1 fans did when 2 released where they constantly draw vapid comparisons between it and it’s subsequent entry, complaining that it isn’t like the prior entry, missing the point of Xenoblade as a series entirely. I expect 3 fans to do something similar when 4 comes out and inevitably changes things up once again.
The lack of self-awareness and capability for critical thinking among the Xenoblade fanbase in particular (Gears and Saga fans are generally better) is astounding to me given the subject matter and depth of the games.
people who say 2's menus are worse than 3's are fricking insane
not only are 3's menus so fricking tiny you have to spend hours scrolling through a completely unorganizeable list of thousands of items to get what you want it forces the same fricking song on your for hundreds of hours
I'm convinced that a huge reason why 3's music felt lackluster is that I could never fricking hear it because of the shitty fricking pause menu and chain attack music
what were they fricking thinking
>completely unorganizeable list of thousands of items
Press -.
How do so many people miss this.
>morons didn't play the fricking game
oh hey I want the item that gives damage up under a certain condition
let me just hit sort
oh wait the menu only displays 10 items at a time out of 10000
let me just randomly scroll through the entire fricking list looking for the actual effect I want and god help me if I have multiple tiers of that effect that aren't ordered properly
fricking have a nice day, 3 sucked ass
The frick happened to the Xenoseries? I remember Xenogears being cool, classic anime but then you look at the game OP posted and it's some generic, tasteless chigyu-shit.
> pretending you know old anime > didn't catch all the references from old anime in XB2
I love XB2 being a litmus for people who just want to cry "anime bad" or shill wrpg garbage like BG3 at least they could shill actually good wrpgs
If we go off "In-game scale vs. True Scale" theory, that being that what we see is simply the locations of the game that are simply necessary for the gameplay while in universe the areas are actually much bigger, then those two areas in particular look like peak comfy hours where you can enjoy bustling areas with people socializing, and quiet areas good for settling down and relaxing in.
Tantal is close, but while it's atmosphere and aesthetic are great, it's too sad. And Leftheria is a bit too scant I think.
I'd personally say so, yes. People often ask the question of >If you could live in a video game world, which would you choose?
Me personally? I'd go with Prime Alrest. Ideally, without the Praetor's influence, Torna running around causing problems, or the Titans dying. Like, tons of cool, healthy titans to live on with awe inspiring landscapes full of cool shit to find, with my own Blade to help me as we make our way in the world.
That aside, I just love the music, the characters, the story, and the overall vibe that 2 had to offer.
No.
Better than 3's disappointing ass, but no.
No.
For me it's X > 3 > 2 > 1, but I love all of them
The Xenoblade games are different enough from each other that which one is the best is up to personal taste rather than anything objective.

Yes! Best characters and story. Fanservice and great attacks animation.
It has the best ending, which counts for a lot. I also like the combat mechanics more than the other two.
It feels like a passion project.
It's closely tied with 1 as the best.
3 is bland compared to the other two.
1 was monolith soft wanking at skyrim. 2 is just pure soul and many creators involved some that died now(code geass artist).
I bet newbies that pretend that 2 fans are fake and one is best they don't know about this.
At least we can speak coherent english
XBC1 released 17 months before Skyrim.
Was it xenoblade x then. It was long time I guess my memory got rusty.
>Muh english
Doesn't matter. The only argument you could come up with.
If it really was the best, we wouldn't need coping threads like this everyday.
If you're a patrician 4chad, yes.
If you're more reddit then 3
If you're more /m/ then X
If you're more nostalgia then 1.
>Ganker likes the most broken annoying to play game
Sounds about right.
I love it a lot, it and 3 switch places as my personal favorite depending on the day.

Probably accesories

Tetsuya Takahashi was young and hungry to make something great and pushed himself and his team with gears.

It's the worst one actually.
Favorite location?
for me its Mor Ardain because it somehow captures the feeling of Wild Arms
Maybe Gormott, maybe Argentum.

3=X>2>1
But they're all great
Yeah, it is.
It's my favorite in the series for one. For some reason it also lives rent free in some anons heads.

Yeah
it is until xb4 comes out and one ups the girls and fanservice
