This. It's ironic people were praising the Mario movie while bashing anything Disney has put out lately. The Mario movie was downright horrible, and I'd much rather watch Encanto.
I wouldn't go that far but yeah the Mario movie was not that good. The best Mario movie has always been the anime one. That was fun. And the only property Nintendo has that I wish would get a movie is Star Fox.
I think StarFox needs a series that eventually gets a movie like Star Trek. There's a lot of worldbuilding that can be worked on for that series. People want a Zelda series for this reason, but I don't see them going in depth in ways we've never seen before.
No way, Yeah Mario Movie was a huge success but don't expect other Nintendo IP's doing the same numbers as Mario. Also i'm terriefied with the idea of a Zelda movie, no way it won't be shit
I would assume a Zelda movie would also at least be profitable even if it didn't make a billion dollars. The real test is Metroid.

Capcom's nes games were some of the best from gen 3. Wish we saw more, if Disney bought an indie studio or something it could be great

Sony is ahead of Nintendo in that aspect.
Sony is totally dying soon. Seeing Sony first party games on computers is evidence things aren't looking so good for California Sony. And I don't think Sony will make a new console for next gen. And even if they do make one, it will probably be their last gaming device. Sony has never been good but seeing them fail to compete against Nintendo is bad for the industry. We all know what happens when a monopoly sets in and Nintendo has had a handheld monopoly for decades. The Switch only expanded it.
PS5 has 50m units sold and it isn't even halfway into it's lifecycle yet.
Don't console gens typically last six years? The PS5 was released three years ago so we're half way there.
Yeah, we're coming up on the 3 year mark soon. There's maybe a couple of years before rumblings about PS6 get louder.

With the way things are going what I see happening is Disney gets divided up and their famous animated film catalogue will be bought by Comcast who already owns Dreamworks and illumination. I don't see anyone else buying classics like Snow White or Cinderella ahead of time. Because if you think Viacom cares about owning Disney's animated films? Think again. Comcast has their own theme park so they will want the physical land of Walt Disney's theme park as well. And you all know the government will not stop anything.
