you don't "need" to do anything in most games. But omitting an existing feature is a step backwards.
Also, SoR was just too slow. Scott Pilgrim and TMNT exceed it.
How is that game anyway? Looking at footage of it, it always struck me as a bit weird due not having a Y-axis to move around in as well but the gameplay looks solid still
Pretty fun, instead of moving on the Y axis you avoid damage by blocking high/low and somersaulting. Every character feels interesting and unique to play

Looks simplistic at first since you're basically moving to the right on a strictly 2D plane but there's a surprising amount of depth to it given how every character handles in a significantly different manner and managing your super bar is key. Per instances
- Ninja can't jump front or back and has a dash instead which has a hitbox that lets him get in on enemies
- Kamaitachi can walk faster while crouching and can only do a direction grab off a hit stunned enemy
- Raiden has a freakin' button prompt just to turn around, can grab multiple enemies AND can morph into some kinda robot-dinosaur with machine guns and bombs I legit bought the game because of this fricker
I hope they port the game because I think people who are fans of the genre are genuinely missing out.
>recent memory
There weren't any other beat'em ups in recent memory. The only one I heard of is Final Vendetta but it literally looks like Final Fight.
Not really because it doesn't have CRT shader even. Pixel graphics are useless if it doesn't have a crt emulation on the top.
I'm happy to play TMNT 4 on SNES emulator.
Not hard when it's practically the only one in recent memory.
They had Streets of Rage 4.
>The No Dash game
yeah...frick that shit
You don't need to dash in sor4

SoR is the opposite of slow. Try playing on a difficulty above normal
half the characters have dashes in sor4
this but that isn't to say that the game isn't awesome and filled to the brim with SOUL
here's your dlc bro
Frick you
I'd rather have more stages, bosses and secrets than fricking pointless guest characters. Frick off
who could they even add as good guys? verna?
Slash and Metalhead if they weren't already bosses.
No, FnR and SoR4 are better, but SR is pretty fricking great.
I might move it above the other two if they fix lobbies so you can set maximum sizes.
Streets of Rage 4 was pretty great as well.

I hope not, this game is terrible.
why?
pizza pizza , nice to me'cha
can you play it with an arcade stick?
Just me or the game would be better off without the voice-acting?
It's just you.
anyone have a gif of raph's taunt?

If it matters that much to you why don't you have a CRT monitor?
