kek thats every single kojima game since their inception especially shit like policenauts and snatcher. hes literally the tarintino of the east, just rips off better and more talented creators than himself, slaps it together in a barely coherent form and then calls it an "homage" to escape all criticism for being a thieving hack
Amazing how when people feel bold enough to claim that "99% of people don't understand [something]" they never seem brave enough to share what THEY think it means. It's almost like they just want to sound smarter than they actually are
If he explained it to you then you would just regurgitate his explanation like a robot and thus you wouldn't be thinking for yourself like the game wants. Only through inner meditation and intense research can you understand kojimas MASTERPIECE.

Here is my trip: Every post on Ganker.
There you go. Hide them all and stop being such a whiny fricking moronic b***h.
Ganker sucks. Deal with it or frick off.
Probably, yeah. A HUUUUUGE part of the game is lost in translation and most people are only aware of "le endgame AI monologue" atop Federal Hall and they miss how the entire game connects on a meta level to MGS1, from level layouts to character roles to even Rose's fricking gasp when Raiden dies. I'm willing to bet most of Ganker doesn't know half this stuff regarding MGS2, so why would other even more moronic people in other sites?
But how many players realize it? I mean *actually* realize it? For starters most nowadays play the HD Collection which means they're already missing out on the game's very first mindfrick where AI Rose asks you whether you've played MGS1 or not with your decision affecting if the game starts at the Tanker or Plant. Then how many players actually realize that after Raiden sees Snake go up the elevator and the Colonel calls him he tells him the room he's in is "just like Level 1 in VR training" in that's it's quite literally built like Level 1 of MGS VR Missions. See the start of the room and the end objectives are at
?t=241
How many people realize the Tanker is called the Discovery, the name of the submarine from 1's intro? Or that if you call Otaco near the ship's lifeboats he tells you about their function in detail so later on you can call the Colonel for the same info in the first room you control Raiden in but he tells you they're not functional to forget about them and return to your mission. It's not the only time he does it either: the boats, the diving suit, the bugs crawling around on the ground were artificially created in a laboratory as said by Codec. Everything in the first room you control Raiden in is fake, artificial just like his mission. Or how if you go into first person after seeing Olga through the window on the ship's control room but before exiting to her boss fight, she's positioned in the perfect spot for you to only barely see her, and for her face to be hidden; done on purpose because JP Olga has Meryl's VA so in that scene Snake sees someone that sounds like Meryl (and according to the game's script looks like her but you know, graphic difference). Also JP Solidus and Snake also have the same VA, so the ruse in the Plant made more sense; that's also why the scene where Raiden hears Olga talk to Solidus on the radio exists; Japanese players heard Meryl talking with Snake
Ocelot literally spells out AT President/Ames, heart attacks, Gray Fox/Ninja, FOXHOUND/Dead Cell all while footage from MGS1 plays - it's spelled out pretty fricking clearly. He calls it 'a complete orchestrated recreation of Shadow Moses', which Raiden has already referenced in the context of MGS1 multiple times throughout the game. Even if you hadn't played MGS1 it's spelled out clear as day
I think anon is saying that players aren't seeing the functional connections for themselves and not realizing the reality of the matter practically as opposed to being told.
the only way to truly understand MGS2 was to have played and loved MGS1 in your developmental years. MGS2's meta-narrative is a commentary on the player's experience and expectations of MGS.
being pissed Kojima refuses to make a MGS game where Snake is both the protagonist and in his prime is perfectly reasonable, especially seeing as how much he shilled Big Boss from MGS3 onwards
Yeah that’s like 90% of any Christian imagery used in Japanese media. Just like they love to use Kabbalah shit too without even understanding what it is, the same reason we use Asian shit in our media cause it’s “exotic”
>twitter post
You stupid, braindead, monkey, Black person. What does his post say??
Cant you start a thread using your own words, and not the words of some random butthole's from twitter? You fricking moronic, holy shit.
its just a goofy videogame
People who make posts like that DEFINITELY didn't "get" MGS2
>movie plagiarism: the game

>Only trve vnderstanders like me know what this game was saying
>No I can't explain it to you and I won't
Gas all twitter users and lynch OP

I thought most of 2 was the brainchild of Hideo, and it was Kojima who had to reign him in.

Presumably he doesn't understand it and he's part of the 99%
solidus was right
100% can't understand it because it's written by a moron.
Should have been an anime.
It's about memes.
I wish to beat every single moron that drags Twitter slop onto this board within an inch of their lives.
Just hide the thread you fricking nerd.
>just hide every thread
How about you put on a trip so I can filter all of your shitty posts?

have a nice day instead, loser.
Are we really still pretending MGS2 was deep?

Ocelot flat out says as much.

who gives a shit.
OP for starters. Perhaps don't enter a thread you have no intention to be interested by.
Alright I'll take my leave of you.

Which is also quite clearly a Policenauts reference.

>evangelion is 2deep4you all over again
>morons actually don't get it all over gain
why are people like this?
the better way to understand it is playing the msx ones, then mgs1 and then see why making mgs2 sounds tiresome
I doubt it considering the post doesn't explain what players are supposed to understand.
how would we know?
Just from discussion on Ganker, it’s 1000% true
>Dude MGS is so deep
As deep as a puddle.
MGS 2 isn't really that deep
Evangelion was fake deep pretentious shit that just used Christian symbolism to make it seem all mysterious
MGS 2 (only 2) WAS actually pretty deep, and predicted a lot especially for the time it came out. Denying that is flat out cope.
