Is it true that? Posted on May 18, 2023 by Anonymous Is it true that /tg/ hates it when someone runs a capeshit campgain?
No but we do hate it when people make bad threads.
Listen gay, you have to talk about a specific system before you make generalist statements.
Mutants and Masterminds: no
Now fuck off.
I know people that shit daily
WHAT FUCKING SYSTEM?
Cause you can resist that shit longer with constitution or vitality. Or fail a taco bell save and vacuate you bowels immediately.
I should hope so..?
Hello yes, I am the /tg/.
This is a true thing you have heard. Nothing makes my blood boil like when people run superhero campaigns.
Simultaneously, anyone who claims to have run them doesn't play games.
>Is it true that /tg/ hates
I miss the good old days when you could discuss capeshit comics on /co/ without an army of 4chan NPCs, an army of shill NPCs, and an army of MARVEL/DC BAD NPCs having a three-way fight over shitty comics filled with horrible plots and even worse politics
Capeshitter blogs are on-topic in a capeshit thread
If you don't like you should have gatekept all those FOTM Ganker and /a/ threads
That's not true and you know it
/co/ is one of the worst boards on the site
Nah it's 100% true, you see it in almost every other board
I remember seeing someone on fucking /3/ yell about how his program is WOKE because the loading screen had an Amazonian kid or something. This shithole is braindead
>That's not true and you know it
I do not have an "LOL" big enough for this.
While /co/ is love hasn't been true for nearly a fucking decade now, it's still hell of a lot better than /a/ because actual discussion goes on in there.
Hell, you have to deal with that bullshit with every board on Ganker now.
I saw someone make a thread with this exact same fucking image going "LOL JUST BUMPED A CAPE THREAD OFF THE CATALOG DONT THANK ME XDDDD"
It's not marvel movies and slop, nor is it even the ever dead supers thread posted and bumped every now and then, it's the concept of superheroes and sometimes even western fucking comics in fucking general. Ever since capes left the niche of """"geek culture"""" and became a more common staple of mainstream normiedom, many a pretentious and contrarian retards have had the need to show how above they are about it, even if they're some weeb who watches every brand spanking new low brow fucking harem anime and has a room full of anime figs and shit.
I just missed when this shit was more niche
You should read Franco-Belgian stuff, that shit is amazing and doesn't get enough love.
incal is shit though.
Jodorowsky and Moebius are geniuses yes, but working separately
I don't really participate in the Supers general or supers threads for like two reasons
>There isn't much interest in them and conversation is dead while the thread is held up by an art spammer
>what little conversation there is is usually from butthurt /tg/ guys that need to tell everyone how intellectually superior they are because they don't like Spider-man
Art-spammer is a plague. Fuck that guy.
Yeah. Like I get it I want supers genre to he more lively on /tg/ too but trying to force it by necro bumping isn't gonna work. On top of that if people see a thread and see there's no conversation but the last 50 images are just one guy posting art they'll just leave too.
Why is it okay for other generals to post art but not supers? I swear you people need to be on medication or something, back in the hay day of supers generals you could post art and not get shat on but now it's the worst thing ever. Bump your own shit threads you cock suckers.
Other Generals actually have discussion and aren't solely being bumped due to art spam. Maybe if you actually posted something to go with the art to start a discussion instead of just the same 10 images it wouldn't be a problem
How many "how do you handle X powers in your setting" questions can you handle? Plus when I DID post questions none fucking answered, on top of that the art was meant to be used in online games or to help inspire PCs and NPCs, although that's redundant since none on these generals plays fucking games, once again, blow me you ass clown. How did you contribute to the general? By being a bitch that's how!
>The only winning move is not to play
Reddit Mod and gay Generals are the cancer killing /tg/, go to any better /tg/. They are out there, you will find them and it can't be any worst then be ruled over by Trannies and moronwoods.
Bumpmoron does technically post things to start discussion, it's just that he isn't actually interested in discussing things. He's a lazy nogames consoomer who just wants other people to feed him content for the sake of it. I wouldn't hate the guy if he ever actually had anything to contribute or ever took a fucking break but it's the same stream of inane questions day in and day out, some of which he's asked dozens if not hundreds of times.
The questions man and the Art dump anon are different people I would now since I am the art dump fag.
Maybe instead of just art share some game stories or system musings? Or maybe since you post a lot of art give advice on finding art for games when you post. Supers threads need bumps because they're always so slow but previous styles have gotten old.
>share some game stories or system musings?
I think I mentioned this before, but my group used to run supers games with fate core system. It was OK, I personally had a pretty good time but at some point the GM desided he wanted to heavily home brew the system at which point the games got a bit weird. I looked into other systems lately. I have actually brought this up before.
>Or maybe since you post a lot of art give advice on finding art for games when you post
Pinterest and Artstation are my go to sources when it comes to art, there are also websites dedicated to RPs with people posting art of their characters. I generally go for art of characters who are not from the big two, or at least public domain superheroes. That said, I don't think posting the same advice over and over again will qualify as "content" by some people's standards.
>but my group used to run supers games with fate core system
Fate seems like it would be good for that kind of thing. Was it okay because there were problems with it, or did it just not live up to the standard of other games?
The "problems" I had where mostly with the GM home brew edition of Fate. The system worked well and the Fate SRD has some good optional rules for the superhero genre.
>I just missed when this shit was more niche
Becoming popular is ALWAYS the death of that thing.
Pretty sure that guy did what the anti-shadowrun guy did and just spam bump a bunch of page 10 threads and make low quality threads to bump off the thread
Pics or didn't happen
How is Good Guys win a capeshit thing? This feels really disingenuous
Pic related applies to lord of the Rings and most fantasy, especially DnD settings.
If I could have disemboweled every Ganker, /a/,/tv/,/pol/,/k/,/d/,/lit/, and /trash/ nogame tourist I would have but unfortunately this is the internet amd all I have is mean words.
Anyways maybe dont shit up every supers thread. People like you are part of the reason we went years without any consistent supers general.
>conveniently overlooks /co/cksuckers
Nogames tourist detected
>Nogames tourist detected
They also went after /d/ and /trash/, where we have storied relations with the former and the latter didn't even exist...
/d/ and /trash/ deserve to be gone after, morondaemonette. Your gay "weekend" smut threads were nogames gayry of the highest order
>Is that... an attractive female with massive kitty titties? Someone call my Wayne Foundation subsidised therapist and tell him he's a rich man!
>showing beheading is ok
>showing boobs le problematic
I sometimes look back on forums I once dwelled on in the 2Ks and see people with Sentry based SNs that fully belved he was the permanent replace for Thor as Marvels big gun and that we should DEAL WITH IT just like 1970s Spiderwoman being a top tier Avenger and Black Panther keeping Storm as his concubine
>Thor as Marvels big gun and that we should DEAL WITH IT
Yeah didn't he get punked by Hercules?
Herc did get him pretty good but he wasn't really trying at all either.
I remember the original version of this
superboy was ecstatic, as you would think a teenage boy would be
/tg/ hates everything. Except things that were screen capped as being /tg/ approved a decade ago. Those are buh-based kino.
I love capeshit.
I am surprised that term has stuck around. No matter how many times I see it used it still has the energy of a kid on the playground trying to invent swears.
>I am surprised that term has stuck around.
because it's completely disarmed as a term of derision. i'm fine with capeshit. i buy capeshit. and i still use it because it describes the genre while implicitly winking and nodding at its inherent schlock factor
I hate capeshit because it's edgy
>I hate capeshit because it's edgy
All things are cyclical anon.
>tg is a singular entity with uniform opinions
Love Mutants and Masterminds! Broke that game like a twig in a hurricane.
What are some powers that you would like to see more in your campaigns, either in general, for heroes, and/or for villains? Case in point, picture related as a hero (at the time) with bug control powers.
I honestly think that stretching/elongation is an underrated power among players and GMs who play supers games. It's different enough to feel weird while having a lot of utility to it.
No, we're just sick of the supers general. I'm glad it's gone and I'm happy it's not coming back.
I know Moondragon from the Quasar run in the 90s and I'm still pretty awed that in comics up to the 90s some guys could do like 100 issues of the most incredible fantasy melodrama you've ever seen and like nobody would fucking read it or remember it and when you talk about that era to diehard comicsheads they just want to talk about edgy Superman villains or something. Fucking R.I.P. man.
> Is it true that /tg/ hates it when someone runs a capeshit campgain?
/tg/ hates it when people play games because /tg/ is no games.
Cosmic capeshit is kino.
Ganker in general hates it when anyone enjoys anything.
Is TMNTaOS capeshit? Shredder had a cape. I love TMNTaOS. Still have my first edition copy. It's great. You can take skills like Keylining and Hockey and Pilot Warship.
I played a psychic squirrel who traveled through time and saved a beetle-rancher from The Road Hogs. That's heroic.
Never had a cape though.
TMNT counts as supers so yeah. "Capeshit" is just what midwits call superheroes to make themselves look col and hip.
I make fun of marvel movies every day like a cultural snob, but truth is I love Supes. I could honestly make like 20-30 videos talking about the big three. Super-Man, Bat-Man, and Spider-Man.
I stopped going on supers threads because half the time it was just anons arguing why it it isn't okay to like superheroes and anons arguing why it was okay
Quads of truth, the anti cape crowd is on it's way to being more annoying than the consooomers they hate.
I know this isn't really related to the topic but I've never really had a "great" experience dming superhero stuff and that's mostly because my players tend to be really boring about what they choose to play.
My players always just play something with the serial numbers scratched off. And power-wise, that's fine. Every power set has been done to death, but if you're gonna be flying brick, Ala Superman, you don't need to have his personality and backstory, too.
Most supers system are point buy but my players will just always build the most basic powers nor ever take any drawbacks as well.
Here's the SRD aticle for Fate superheroes if anyone cares:
Once again, if anyone cares for fate supers, here's some more fate SRD links:
What if I care about sex instead
Invite your friends to an ERP, and have a sweaty neckbeard gay orgy where you lick mountain dew off of each others man tits.
It's all good m8.
>Is it true that /tg/ hates it when someone runs a campgain?
And the answer is yes
don't die yet i need this thread later
So to contribute, I want to run a super game almost soonish. Is Prowlers and Paragons a good one to start with? Seems simple enough to understand so far.
I too want to run a supers game and P&P seems like the perfect balance of storytelling and mechanics for something like super. It's more focused on narrative storytelling than crunchy simulation (which comic books ignore anyways). Only thing the book lacks after reading through it is tips on how to write a campaign or story, which is where I'm stuck regarding creating a campaign.
Personally I'm probably going to make mine episodic where I try to get things neatly wrapped up after one or two sessions. It'll depend on the group's interest mainly. I'm mainly unsure of what power levels to throw at them. Like is on villain a PC too much? Should I throw some minions and Foes in there? Would just one Villain and his mooks be a good challenge for 4 players? I know Adversity can kind of help with that last one, but I don't want to abuse it too much.
No one cares.
I personally love altering powers, the kind that visibly alter the human anatomy ether when used, or permanently.
I've always been a fan of the power copycat archetype.
Personally as a gm I disliked them because I find it harder to plan around (not impossible, just more difficult) and because of the bad experiences I've had with players who use them. There was just a lot of dick moves by the copycats - just a lot of spotlight hogging and gimmick infringement with no accountability or understanding of why it was ruining other people's enjoyment.
