It looks decent, like a 6/10 design, until it opens its mouth and becomes a 3/10 design. Also the tentacle belt looks stupid.
I don't know, I think I'd like them more if the games they came from weren't trash. Pokemon can't be carried on designs alone, even if they were good. I do think the overall quality of designs has declined, but I'm sure I could still find a handful I'd enjoy using if the games were worth playing anymore. But they're not, so I'll never give them a chance. I mean, I didn't grow up with Gen 5, but I've come to appreciate a lot of its designs more than I did at first because B/W were actually decent games.
Most of the new designs are fine. In fact I'd love to have some of them in the older games. It's the rest of the game around them that makes it less appealing to me.
I'd probably be generally more accepting, but I wouldn't necessarily like them
