Is it worth getting on Steam? I've heard the port on there is buggy.

use the PCGW's fixes and it should run fine
>port
Words used to have a meaning.
>that sign can't stop me because I can't sneed
i pirated this game back in 2010, and i enjoyed it so much that i picked it up at a garage sale for a dollar, and from there i got it on android tablet, and i even got it one more time on my ipod touch.
fantastic game.
You just need the widescreen patch and the sound fix from PCGW and you're good to go. Might need an another fix if you use a Ryzen. After doing that, you have a kino game.
>Might need an another fix if you use a Ryzen
yep, you need even more fixes if you're on AMD
amd is... LE BAD
Never said anything negative against AMD yet still you react on perceived cue like the trained pavlovian dog you are.
>port
I'm quite sure it was on PC months before it was ported to console.

Just get the version from this pack. Unrar it and play, its already patched, cracked and working, widescreen and all. You don't even have to install it, just unrar and launch
Based I played through this version, worked great
Nice one.
It's not a port, the problem came from it being able to literally run on windows 95, the game is old.
believe it or not win98 games mostly work on modern systems
add a community fix or two and they work flawlessly
when you hit win95 creosote, that's when you start having serious problems
>2015+7
>getting anything on steam
search for a mega link, or maybe some anon could post it here for ya.
it's in /vr/'s boomer shooter collection I think
2015? shut the frick up moron
if you haven't played max payne or at least the demo before 9/11 I don't consider you human
Definitely played the demo circa 2002
Played max payne 2 when it dropped
The truth was like a commercial plane hitting a skyscraper, my previous misconceptions all turning into a pile of rubble. I was not human.
I'm not american and I'm sorry to say Israel's hijinx just didn't have the same cultural impact over here
No war on terror, no Dubya, just same old shit
>I've heard the port on there is buggy.
It was made for PC, then ported to consoles.
you can't get it on steam anymore though...
what?
wait what, I can't buy it on my region. Argentina
>Currently only purchasable in several regions (US, Canada, Switzerland, Norway, UK, Poland, Russia, and EU for Max Payne 2).
Just wait for a $60 demake
its good but you need to limit your framerate to 60 or some cutscenes frick up and softlock the game
I played through the retail version of Max Payne 1 a few years back on Windows XP at 1920x1440@165hz, got through it just fine without any problems
Plays fine on Linux.
>be lunuxoid
>run wine all the time
>yeah works fine on my GNU/Gentoo/Irrational spider plant phobia kernel :^)
Wine ? Get Steam, get Proton which is an official tool developed by Valve to play games on Linux since you're so allergic to things developed by Korean carpet weavers, and play whatever the frick Steam game you want. If you want something extra go to ProtonDB to check if some games still have trouble running with Proton.
MAX PAYNE 1 always was buggy. Just get the audio fix to have sound in the cinematics. Also, during dream sequences, always stay in the centre of the corridors or you will get stuck on the geometry.
Tried this year.
I couldn't get into 1 but 2 was pretty solid.
1 is all around superior.
Can't agree with that when 2 feels like an improvement in almost every way.
All around worse story, atmosphere, and difficulty.

It's worth getting.
No, it's not the port, it's the modern hardware AND Windows that don't quite click with the year 2001 32-bit games in general.
It's however piss easy to fix using a fan patch.
Hey it’s Crowbcat
The steam version was less buggy for me than the disc version
>Why do you pay for a broken game?
It's not a broken game.
It's literally Microsoft's system that is broken.
Literally kys or go back to play on consoles if this kind of mundane task is overpowering you.
