Anon, it's Visa. It's just a different flavoured Visa.

Visa is the processor, not the issuer. Fricking kids don't even know how finances work.

Yes I know that, but it literally does not matter who the issuer is. If they go defunct then bam, you're now up money.

No yearly fee. Bonuses are all in "points", I guess there's no cashback but maybe you can redeem playstation cards. You get 5x points on PS store purchases, 3x on internet, 2x on restaurant, and 1 point per dollar spent.
      APR and fine print here:

Here are the gift card rewards. Per the PS Store cards, you get $1=100 points, but everything non-Sony is more than that ratio. The card doesn't really seem to be worth it, unless you buy Sony cameras and headphones and shit all the time. Even if you spend a lot on PS Store, the gift card isn't gonna earn you points. Better to just have a cashback card on more expensive stuff in your life, like the Apple card or anything travel related

          >Apple Card
You could not have picked a worse fricking alternative.

read the fine print for points. calculate how much you have to spend (without accruing interest) to accumulate 5000 points to get a "free" 50 dollar ps store credit.

It's a 1% return at the base rate, this math isn't hard.

Any generic 2% cash back card is an improvement, even if you choose to only spend your rewards at Sony.

I thought the same as you when I started working at my first job, and then I saw that credit cards are just so that you end up overpaying or going into debt at some point in the future
I remember that many of the gamers that came through the store and former co-workers had problems with credit card debt
If you are not going to have month to month control of what you buy, and after PS5 games you are tempted by something else, or a favor from a friend, or a gift, but anything but what you originally bought, or you won't handle the real interest, or annual maintenance fees and shit like that, then avoid thinking about having one, and settle for something like a debit card which today you do most of the things you do with a credit card

      Anonymous

how about you use the credit card but imagine that it's a debit card that gives you free money

there's a million cards out there that offer cashback and points with no fees. even the cards with fees usually pay for themselves with the credits they offer and then some. sorry you're moronic.

          >free money
I don't know why americans are so eager to pay montly bills on shit with interest. Sure, you can pay off the credit debt from buying that 1000€ fridge the next day but whats the point then? What do you get from having the bank pay for you and then you pay back the bank later or if you do monthly installements you pay back the bank 18% more?

I don't think europoors get the same benefits we do but the 1000 tiddleystick fridge would be 990 tiddleysticks with a 1 percent cashback card

            Anonymous

well, if you say so, if you can keep your credit card in good standing, you handle it well
but what I said before is also true, many of the people I knew in my old job ended up in debt with their credit cards, and me with a simpler debit card I did most things for them and without worrying about monthly bills
and by the way, several current debit cards also offer cashback, so it's not a big thing for credit cards

I get points from spending money to the bank's partners (supermarkets, clothing stores, gas stations etc) but they're usually not many and not the ones I go to for various reasons. And every X points you get a Y discount on your next purchase if you want or you can let it pile up. But it's not worth it in the same way as its not worth it to cash back 10€ out of 1000€ purchase, especially if your credit card has a subscription fee

i never bothered with a specialized card, an all purpose card that does cashback on everything is more flexible. i only used mine to build credit for when it came time to buy a car and home and after that i only use it for shit i know i will pay off without interest ticking over or emergencies like when i had to fly home when my sister was in a car accident.
