No
It released as a mediocre looter shooter and now it'll just get turned into a half decent looter shooter. It's still not the game you were marketed and lied to about for years
This is false. You can play the DLC content right from the Main Menu, similar to Witcher 3's DLC. In a regular playthrough, the DLC starts around the time you meet the Voodoo Boys in Pacifica.
Wait for DLC unless you already have a maxed character and want to frick around with OP broken builds while you can. The game is getting a massive change to skills, gear, and combat.
No at least wait for the 2.0 update (free) as they are changing fundamentals of the games like skills and cyberware.
I am gonna play it at the end of next month, already pre-ordered it.
From what I remember of their presentations recently.
Full lighting pass and newest versions of rendering tech and ditched last gen console support to go higher visuals.
New items/gear and areas of map and gigs.
Attributes, skills, and perks have a new system with higher level cap. The Relic attribute and skill tree is added. Perk points can be individually refunded instead of all or nothing.
Cops and Maxtac changed and will hunt you down in car/drop ship chases and setup roadblocks. Improved NPC combat AI in general.
Vehicular combat with FPS weapons and vehicle weapons aka James Bond cars. More car missions and chances of car chases with NPCs and random gang drive-by encounters.
You can get a skill to use katanas from bikes and cut bullets to block with a perk.
You can hack other cars while driving and use monowire to access data jacks at range. There is a monowaire jack-in stun attack against NPCs now too. Monowire can spread some hacks from attacks to groups.
Clothes and armor and cyberware are changing. Most armor comes from cyberware now but you can't install too much or you get penalties to health/regen. Consumables like healing items have cool downs.
New optional finishers for various weapons and melee monsters as a finisher can toss NPCs as a weapon to kill another person.
The east part of Pacifica area to the stadium that no one goes to is replaced with Dogtown, a pocket city state and military even MaxTac won't deal with. New gear and cyberware is in shops there.
The PL DLC story starts when you must go to meet the Voodoo Boys for that arc of the story campaign.
I don't expect them to revamp the whole story. I just want to give V something to do. You can already call you friends at any time - why can't you invite them to your house or for a drink? I think a mod makes that possible, so it's not THAT hard to do.
Really fun game. I just finished my 2nd playthrough. Got the achievements for clearing out the gigs/scanner/etc for each of the regions. After I’m done with Starfield I’m gonna get the DLC and start afresh.
Story is really good imo
I like the characters and voice acting
Soundtrack is awesome
I personally loved the design of the city. The first person perspective and how detailed it was really had me feeling like I was walking around a city. No other open world cities felt quite as real and scaled properly.
Gameplay is mid though. The game is mostly style over substance, but the characters and story did win me over. And I rarely play games for that stuff.
I actually liked the gameplay. Reminded me of DX1/System Shock 2, with the amount of ways you can deal with a given situation. If you are playing this game as a looter-shooter, you are a brainlet.
Playing a hacker ninja that clears entire rooms from the safety of his car five blocks away will never not be fun.
>Reminded me of DX1/System Shock 2, with the amount of ways you can deal with a given situation
this. all the gig locations are like mini deus ex levels filled with alternate routes and opportunities to use methods other than just walking in and shooting everyone.
Why play a game before a supposedly game-changing patch and a dlc you're supposed to play in the middle of the game?
That seems like the worst possible thing to do.
maybe "ethical" pirating should be more of a thing? like, cdproject red have admittedly gone all the way regarding fixing the game, they haven't exactly been sitting on their asses and just done nothing, so maybe they have deserved our money now? if the upcoming patch completely fixes the game and the expansion is also great, then hey, haven't they redeemed themselves in us gamers' eyes, then? of course, if they do the esg thing and fills the next witcher game with homosexuals and trannies and feminists and Black folk, then pirate away, i say.
Its a linear single player game with no branching path’s besides at the very end
Just wait, they have revamped the entiregame and made a load of changes.
its been worth playing for a year now
at this point you may aswell wait for the DLC and patch and play it with all the new stuff fresh from the start
>for a year now
they re-did most of the main quest and side quests and added depth to their sandbox a year ago?
they're releasing the 2.0 update before the dlc, wait for that
No

heh the cope reminds me of starfield threads
wait for the DLC update. They change quite a lot of things.
No. The DLC will be integrated into the original story, so you will need to start a new playthrough to play it anyway.
This is false. You can play the DLC content right from the Main Menu, similar to Witcher 3's DLC. In a regular playthrough, the DLC starts around the time you meet the Voodoo Boys in Pacifica.
nope just gonna load my save pre-final mission
The game part sucks. The movie game part is alright.
Wait for DLC unless you already have a maxed character and want to frick around with OP broken builds while you can. The game is getting a massive change to skills, gear, and combat.

nah just wait for the DLC it fixes a lot of shit and should improve the game, no reason to rush.
yes
You might wanna have a fully built up V and be familiarized with the story before starting the DLC yeah.
So are they just revamping the whole game? Because thats essentially what was needed.
Pretty much. It's unknown to what extent, but apparently the 2.0 patch reworks the game from the ground up.
I just want more city interactions.

I just want more open world/companion interactions. I just want to invite Panam for a drink or have her crash in my condo.
It didn't sound like base story was changing much. PL unlocks a new ending and you get Solomon Reed as a sidekick like Jackie for part of that arc.

Ask me how I know you've never played the game.

this. all the gig locations are like mini deus ex levels filled with alternate routes and opportunities to use methods other than just walking in and shooting everyone.
it does wear on you after a while though.

Just pirate it you fricking idiot.
maybe "ethical" pirating should be more of a thing? like, cdproject red have admittedly gone all the way regarding fixing the game, they haven't exactly been sitting on their asses and just done nothing, so maybe they have deserved our money now? if the upcoming patch completely fixes the game and the expansion is also great, then hey, haven't they redeemed themselves in us gamers' eyes, then? of course, if they do the esg thing and fills the next witcher game with homosexuals and trannies and feminists and Black folk, then pirate away, i say.
People really pay for DLCs where the main advertising for them is a troon that got a character in it?
BG3 sold itself on gays and trannies, so I guess so.
I thought it was non stop shilling here and on leddit with the gay bear sex that made people BG3.
Lol no. Pirate it before you buy it, it's shit.
I played the vanilla game a bit just because I wanted to get a sense of what they changed when they upgrade it.
No and buying the doc makes you a certified moron because they promised it for free
just wait for 2.0 it will probably improve the experience a lot, all the new shit applies at level 1
