for about ten hours. then the rigid nature of time-shifting gets annoying and becomes cumbersome. I put about 20 hours into it and by the end I was just wanting it to be over. It's a weird game because it both feels like there's too much in it and not enough. Or maybe it was the weak-as-shit final run that you've seen a dozen times already (there is only one right solution to 'solve' the game).
That was my experience too, there’s a solid base to build on there regarding gameplay, but ultimately the loop gimmick gets pretty boring and the final payoff is unsatisfying as frick.

This tbh. It blows my fricking mind how they created a game about being stuck in a timeloop, and there's like ZERO possibilties to mess around with the loop outside of the one scripted sequence of events you have to use.
The biggest downgrade imho was the lack of powers and upgrades. Like come on, everyone enjoys playing around with half a dozen powers or more. combinging them and doing creative stuff is literally half the fun of the combat. But no, we don't get gadgets, we're locked into 2 powers and if we're unlucky we get dropped the same bs upgrades again and again. Like the 70s blaxploitation theme is literally the only thing interesting about this game.
Colt as a character should've been silent. Anyone know the "show, don't tell" mantra from screenwriting? In gaming it's probably more like "do, don't show": A good game would make the gameplay itself so exciting that the player goes "WOW HOLY SHIT" in his seat. This game has the character say "wow holy shit" trying desperately to convince you that the gameplay that you are playing right now is in fact amazing and exciting. Instead of confusing the player with the timeloop mechanics we get a character telling us "wow this timeloop stuff is confusing".
I'd say if you can get it for like $10 it'd be a good deal. For fullprice, it was a bit lackluster. It also depends on how you play these kinds of games. I found one setup I liked and never changed, so someone who likes mixing things up might have a better time. It's definitely a lot of lost potential.
