You know, it would actually be super easy for her to squat in some expensive apartment while the owner is away. She gets into high floors like nothing.
Well her whole job is about getting in and out of places quickly and never staying in one place, and a fancy apartment like that would probably have 2 dozen security measures in place that would get her arrested if she stayed there for more than 1 minute
Feels more like a grand tech demo than a full release but regardless it’s absolute sovl with some cool dev tricks to make it look as good as it did, definitely worth playing
Yes, it's more style over substance but the gameplay is fun (except for the combat which is pants-on-head moronic, but it's mostly avoidable), the world is interesting and cozy, and it's a good game to kill an afternoon/evening with. It also runs surprisingly well on old computers.
Slow, passionate, emotional, and sweaty baby making sex with Faith after a day of running around the city
>Asian woman >asexual
lol. Faith was craving for that straight white Mercury's dick for years
Her design is so good, unique, and cute. (You) see a lot of cute Asian girls with slim bodies and black bob-cut hairstyles in a lot of Japanese games but in Western games this kind of design is very rare especially if the girl is the protagonist. I hate a LOT of things about Catalyst but one of the worst things about it is how they completely ruined Faith and made her super generic as hell. What pains me the most is the fact that the og team was apparently originally working on a proper Mirror's Edge 2 in 2010 but then EA shut it down and fired everyone. I'm still thinking about what could have been if EA weren't a bunch of corporate israelites.
>What pains me the most is the fact that the og team was apparently originally working on a proper Mirror's Edge 2 in 2010 but then EA shut it down and fired everyone.
That’s … not what happened. It went into development hell and the prototype was rejected in 2011, and development was restarted. However, besides the story being rebooted, the little bit of leaked footage we have matches Catalyst more than it does the original.
Speculation on my part, but I believe the assets from that version were reused for the Battlefield 3 DLC maps Operation 925 and Ziba Tower, with the latter being a very close match for the View District in Catalyst.
Euros used to like them, too. I chalk my love of the bob solely up to reading 2000AD and Judge Hershey, since I'm not sure where else I would have gotten an affinity for them before that.
I'm not the right person to ask, buddy, because of course I'm gonna say yes. The first couple years are cheesy but fun and after that it's pure sci fi goodness with a lot more world building and fun characters than pop-media has instilled. At one point you -will- go 'hey, they totally ripped off (X story/setting)' and then find out the comic predates what you're thinking of by at least a decade. I'd say check Ganker for a 'best reads' deal, but it's impossible to discuss 2KAD and especially Dredd there now, so I'll just say you can find the trade collections and epics and such (the Complete Case Files) at your local comix zone/torrent search of choice.

Like I said, torrents. IIRC there's a main one circulating around that's Case Files 1 through 27 together (according to qbit's search anyway) and individual uploads past that are easy enough to find. Reading directly online without downloads will probably be harder since most places don't want to host 40 years of comics that aren't a long-running Japanese slice of life or something, but don't worry, nobody outside of Europe actually pays for the comics. One of the biggest fanboys around the boards is from Argentina, if I recall.

No prob. You could try making a Ganker thread during daylight hours and hope someone there has the hookup, but I hate to say that it's more likely you'll reach page ten with 0 replies buried under the flood of Adventure Time and aspergers.
Yes, but Catalyst is actually better. The world design is bad but the open world is a perfect choice for a free roaming game like this. Also Faith got an upgrade: from Asian she became Hapa (ie half White). Imagine how much better the next game will be with an entirely White Faith.
She was always a hapa, her surname is Connors so it shouldn’t be surprising. In supplementary media he is also depicted with lighter hair, whilst Faith, her sister, and mother, have black
>og team was apparently originally working on a proper Mirror's Edge 2 in 2010 but then EA shut it down and fired everyone
Both games were made by DICE, that's why Catalyst exists in the first place. DICE is the only studio EA can't close because of Battlefield.

I have no idea. Some neurons must have crossed when I was young without my realizing it. Much like the other Anon, I don't question it either. I like it and that's good enough for me.
yes but it has some shit parts and I don't think its aged very well. I remember the drain level being the best shit ever but after replaying it a while ago It wasn't as good as I remember.
It's like ME1 but faster(due to open world), people were filtered by ""skill tree"" but after 2 hours you will get all your ME1 skills already. Combat is an improvement, they removed guns but improved melee massively. Wants you to collide enemies together or throw them towards objects with kicks. Combat and parkour also happens seamlessly due to "fast" takedowns that doesn't hurt your momentum. Open world stuff can get repetitive but challenges are great, especially if you play on consoles since PC leaderboards were filled with cheaters. Story is meh though but some characters are better than their ME1 counterparts such as Noah, which is a mix of Jacknife and Merc. Music is also massively underrated.
>Open world stuff can get repetitive
The backtracking is half of the game unfortunately, even as you open up shortcuts along the way via new movement tricks.
What I find ass is they make this large open map, and decide to have no multiplayer modes to make use of it.
Catalyst was such a mixed bag for me. I played it years after the first one so I went in with already tempered expectations and it really was just about what I expected: the absolute bare minimum of what could be done for an open-world Mirror's Edge game.
A question for the Catalyst gays; What is the rationale for pic related to exist? >unlocked by default >no resource cost/cooldown >instantly maxes out your speed
It's important for challenges and side quests, not so much for story.
>Open world stuff can get repetitive

What I find ass is they make this large open map, and decide to have no multiplayer modes to make use of it.
Quests themselves aren't about backtracking though, many main missions doesn't even take place in open world. They gave players fast travel because of that imo since many story missions are taken from hideout.
It won't happen, but I'm just mainly curious if RTX or UE5 style bs would allow Cataclysm to look as good as ME1 did, given ME1 was all baked lighting to achieve its aesthetic, vs. Cataclysm going the realtime route so they could have full day/night lighting for every location w/o making it weigh 100gb.
there used to be a guy on Ganker who had a vinyl on his Miata of faith's eye tattoo around one of its headlights and it was really silly but also made me smile every time i saw it
Same. I miss when American devs used to like them. Now only Jap devs still have females with this hairstyle in their games
>Western does it >Japan copies it >Ends up delivering better version through their own vision while the west just goes fricking moronic
Videogame media in a nutshell imo

When ME1 was new, playing it was such an insane dopamine rush. The atmosphere to this day is unmatched.
While a lot of people look at the whole late 00s / early 10s era as the beginning of the end in many ways (and it was), shit like this is where creativity peaked. Today, original ideas are never expanded upon and instead we are only given the same rehashed slop recycled for the mass market.
Maybe I'm just moronic, but most of my good experiences playing Vidya ended after like 2012-2013ish.
I liked it but it was so physically PAINFUL to look at. So much bright white SO MUCH BRIGHT WHITE...and don't get me started on that one office building with the candy colors
yeah.
every indy and aaa fps after it has scavanged its parkor mechanics since its release, but its better than all those since it has a laser focus on free running than gunning
CATALYST IS NOT A MIRROR'S EDGE 2!

Yes.
No
very
divine and transcendent
It's fun for a 6 hour playthrough but some parts are frustrating and combat sucks
Yes and Faith is literal perfection.
I'd think her back would be more toned than that
Probably.
armpitta
also scars/bruises
>Waking up in a lavish apartment
Cringe, Faith canonically is homeless and lives in an AC unit
You know, it would actually be super easy for her to squat in some expensive apartment while the owner is away. She gets into high floors like nothing.

ah, its that one game where i just like the cover.
very good game but also quite short, story isn't amazing and the combat is quite simple but everything else is on point
sequel is alright, introduces a lot of bullshit and somehow has a worse story but still fun and has hot chinks
Feels more like a grand tech demo than a full release but regardless it’s absolute sovl with some cool dev tricks to make it look as good as it did, definitely worth playing

She looks fine in Catalyst. People just overreact because she makes a weird face on the cover art.

where did she go? did she crash into the wall or refused some israelite's advances?
Worse; she married, got a baby and direct movies now.
She was always a hapa, her surname is Connors so it shouldn’t be surprising. In supplementary media he is also depicted with lighter hair, whilst Faith, her sister, and mother, have black
She looks nothing like a Hapa in 1, it's only on 2 that she looks any white
She looks like a hapa in both, and if you’ve seen a lot of Asian people, her depiction in Catalyst looks more Asian.
You're blind.

solar fields is underrated in general. all of his music is rich and full of interesting synths
2 is a better game but 1 has one of the best dystopian aesthetics of all time.

Remember when DICE said ME2 would have no mandatory combat and that you would be able to just run past or do the light attack that keeps momentum
lol
what a pathetic circular justification
>ME2 would have no mandatory combat and that you would be able to just run past or do the light attack that keeps momentum
You can do that though.
thank you for informing me you didn't play the game
Correction, you can do that in open world and some story missions. You can't escape from combat in tutorial but that's what tutorial is for.
You can't bypass the combat in any mission, except for the one at the spire with the 40 enemies at the elevators you're meant to run from
>You can't bypass the combat in any mission
Wrong, watch speedruns.
Keeps the flow/pacing going for situations that'd force you to slow down otherwise, although I'd more consider that a fault of the level design.
I think they wanted to keep the sidestep exploit from 1, turning a bug into a feature kinda.
Well, the audio is good if you have a surround sound system.
It won't happen, but I'm just mainly curious if RTX or UE5 style bs would allow Cataclysm to look as good as ME1 did, given ME1 was all baked lighting to achieve its aesthetic, vs. Cataclysm going the realtime route so they could have full day/night lighting for every location w/o making it weigh 100gb.
please apply yourself when trolling
best freaking map in ME1 with the best soundtrack

No. One of he worst games i've ever bought. I wish I could have swapped it for anything.

Yeah Mirrors Edge is amazing. It turned me from a GTA loving casual into someone who will try new things and finish challenging games.
>cut prison level
Could've been kino.
It unironically looks better than most games coming out nowadays. Though using very few NPCs and the colour scheme helps a lot with that.
Post it, you know which image I’m talking about
Yes, but Catalyst is actually better. The world design is bad but the open world is a perfect choice for a free roaming game like this. Also Faith got an upgrade: from Asian she became Hapa (ie half White). Imagine how much better the next game will be with an entirely White Faith.

Which game had the prettier environments? I only played the reboot but I heard the aesthetics of the first are slightly different.

Bullshit LMAO
The edgy asian alt chick with a bob cut is sooo 2000s. I love it.
Meant to say the whole aesthetic of that character archetype is so 2000s.
sexo
Alright, you've convinced me to give Catalyst a shot.
It's phenomenal.
It's the last AAA game I bought. In 2009.
It's good but linear and short. My favourite part is huge Tokyo water sewers
yeah.
every indy and aaa fps after it has scavanged its parkor mechanics since its release, but its better than all those since it has a laser focus on free running than gunning
She still looks fine.
I tried to play it for the first time recently and couldn't finish it. the controls don't feel that tight and the combat sucks dick.
it has interesting visuals and concept though
skill issue
Not really.
But it is novel.
the original game is not on sale. it is priced at $20
catalyst is on sale. it is priced at $4.
ea is having a sale on steam. and yet, the original is not on sale.
make of that what you will.

rather call it a retcon
berry berry good if u know how to play gaemz
catalyst is soulless
Fun fact: Character is a self insert troon out.
What the hell are you blabbering about?
Back to serious topics: why would in a ~~*dystopian*~~ reality Runners would be needed? On Catalyst Faith delivers the simplest things like a flower, why would that even be illegal?

Not without incident.
