Making fakemons is fun. Playing fakemons is gay baby aids. I’ve got art books full of fakemons and redesigns, but I’m not interested in them in a rom-hack.
Fakemons are the only reason to play a romhack at this point. If I wanted to use official pokemon I’d just play a regular pokemon game or go on showdown.

It's not that I don't have any faith in this, it's just frustrating to see this insane circlejerk of keeping everyone outside some inner circle out of the loop in-between several months of no real progress reports or a dex for those who have already finished the game and are merely interested in shit like types or how to approach a second or third run

Pretty much every romhack is full of stupid self indulgences and references that dont belong in pokemon games. People keep trying to reinvent the wheel when the formula was already right there. I stopped caring about rom hacks when Crystal Clear was full of self insert bullshit and Quarantine was just as bad with its headcanon and and fakemons.
Most romhacks don't have egregious levels of self-inserts like Crystal Clear fwiw. I wouldn't even mind Crystal Clear's SI's if they swapped them with the OG E4 in the Battle Simulator.

Thats what bothered me the most. Id be able to forgive them if they made their SI the simulation but they went the other route. I even joined their discord a while back and suggested they make that change and you wouldn't even be able to image how fast they banned me.
Not surprised, their discord is notorious for being like that and they're very resistant to new suggestions these days. It also seems like the server message history gets periodically nuked so any criticisms are long gone.
It is what it is, game has a lot of good in it but there are some pain points.
This is more faithful to the originals than all these radred clones with every pokemon and mechanic shoved in kanto

Not going to do that. Be assured the game is beautiful and blows anything else in the hacking/fan project scene out of the water. Most of the redesigns were straight improvements as well.
