5 dollars for the singleplayer is a perfectly good deal. probably the best campaign in an FPS since halo died.
the multiplayer is wildly overrated even if you can actually play it. by modern standards it's good, but it's not the second coming of christ.

The singleplayer is close to perfect, on RE4's (excluding the shit village level) level of quality when it comes to pacing and gameplay variety. Almost every level has a fun quirk or gimmick and nothing sticks around long enough to get boring, except maybe the shit mech fights at the end. The combat is also really solid, the second level in particular is great with a shotgun.

    >is tf2 worth it just for the singleplayer?
for less than $5 absolutely. It is a pretty short campaign, maybe about 4-5 hours depending on the difficulty. This means that each level feels well designed and fun to play. There is a level in the campaign that has a unique mechanic that I've never seen in another FPS that I think is worth playing for alone

    >is the mp still broken?
I can't help you here though, I last played on console years ago

100%, game fricking slaps. Definitely one of the best FPS games ever made, even if just for the single player. Good news is the multiplayer works again, and there’s even a community made launcher called Northstar that has a frick ton of unique shit and game modes like gun game

I didn't like it. Don't know what I was expecting but it felt very weird and clunky to me

For 5 bucks it's a steal, even more so now that the multiplayer servers are back up. Just be aware that there is an issue where you get booted to the title screen from the multiplayer menu randomly every once in a while that will probably never get fixed. It's not too serious, but it can be frustrating sometimes.

Singleplayer campaign is surprisingly high-effort, a lot of really fricking cool levels. The prefab factory in particular is a very vivid memory.

I always found multiplayer really frustrating though, about half my matches have me joining against 5 enemy titans packing up and absolutely oppressing the whole map without enough brains on my own team for a shitstreak's chance of counterplay. At least when you get teamstacked in something stupid like CoD, the enemy killstreak doesn't stick around and keep fricking your ass for the whole match. Pilot-only mode solves this kinda but that also attracts players that have Christlike aim and movement skill, so it's basically an arena shooter on fast-forward. I'm better than average at FPSes but I can't seem to keep up with MP on any mode. Still happy with the game overall for having a sick campaign.
