yeah, the 3ds library looks to be really lackluster.

      you are missing out, ngl.
If you have the New versions, you can have:
      >DS
      >3DS
      >GBA
      >NES
      >SNES
      >Turbografx
      >GameGear
      >Genesis
      >Some N64 native ports

Only the xl which had dual ips
But the pixel density on the dsi xl model is also laughable as the thing is fricking gigantic

I can't, the 3DS resolution fricking sucks for OG DS games. It's either improperly scaled to full screen, or extremely tiny if you enable that native res mode. Shit sucks

There's TWPatch, which lets you use a range of filters, but it's all a compromise in the end.

      I think you mean GBA.

If you only want to play DS games the DSI XL is a better deal. No panel lottery/guaranteed IPS screens and the games dont look blurry + no massive black borders like on 3DS.

Story of Seasons Trio of Towns, if you like farming games... but nothing else is immediately coming to mind.

N64 Zelda remakes, Fire Emblem, ALBW, Samus Returns, Mario 3D Land, Kid Icarus.

Oh yeah, somehow I forgot about the Zelda remakes. I guess you could add the Pokémon games, but I don't really like the new ones, I think X and Y are decent though.

Kid Icarus 3D, SmileBASIC, Portable Super Smash, Metroid 2.5D, Zelda 2.5D, great ace attorney + ace attorney, Layton vs Wright, Ace Combat, Tekken, plenty of Kirby games, SMT 4... And the rest are indie-tier games but actually good, likestarship damnrey, attack of froday monsters, nanostray...

I played a lot of Mario Kart 7 on mine. M2's Sega arcade ports were all great, too.

Great series, kind of pokemon-esque but far more self aware. Also has a better post game and more gameplay variety through minigames and whatnot
Also there's a spin off game called Blasters that is great, it's also a game mode in ykw3

So I really want to get a 3ds again, sold mine after a couple years. I have heard your best bet is to buy one from ebay japan, is that right? In any case what do you think about this item?

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/363857106662

Seems cheap and the seller is trustworthy supposedly.

I would honestly consider springing for a new 3ds/new 3dsxl just for the improved 3d, better screens, and better battery
But if you are looking to buy an original model those look fine
You can very easily replace the upper screen if it's scratched, scratches on the bottom screen are harder to fix

Is the right nub supposed to be completely unusable? I can’t make remotely accurate movements in Federation Force with my 2DSXL at all.

I’m starved for Metroid content. I downloaded it today after playing Prime Pinball for awhile.

Yes. Especially in hindsight with the Switch being rather dogshit.
