I dunno, post more of this bawd
that's a child
and?
Of course not
7800xt is better at raster but eats a frickton of power and the software is worse
The 4070 has less VRAM but for the games that will get even close to filling it, neither of the cards will cut it at high settings, so it doesn't affect much
t. AMD user, went from RX 6600 to 4070
Why did you switch to Nvidia?
Because I have no brand loyalty and pick and choose what I consider better for each situation
I was shopping around after selling my old PC (moved abroad) and figured out the tier of GPU I wanted would be that, somewhere in the 600 euro range to go with my 7800X3D which I got at a hefty discount
I was between the 4070 and 7800XT, and after a lot of research figured out that the 7800XT WOULD be a better choice, if it was at MSRP and a good hundred euros cheaper
It was actually priced higher and 4070 was discounted, so I got that one
In a few years I'll sell it and buy a new one, if FSR has improved and AMD makes their GPUs have the same value for money as their CPUs, I'll go back to them
7800XT shits on the 4070. There is no debate.
I prefer njudea for running kobold
is preteen dicky really that good compared to hag meatflaps?
hags are life
I know these words are sacrilege on Ganker, but I have an adult woman fetish
>attracted to secondary sexual characteristics
you sick frick
Unless you are a teen, it sound stupid.
Is all about the muscle later.
Thats why sport tomboys/girls hace the best ones. Can grip your dick with their pussy-muscles, similar to doing with your hand but better.
It's quite simple. If you give a shit about stuff like upscaling and raytracing you go Nvidia, otherwise you do AMD.
>upscaling
FSR3 is decent and Intel XeSS is almost on par with DLSS.
And local model aishit if you're into that
The 7800XT is incredibly ovepriced as is, even at MSRP without being scalped it's barely an upgrade over something like the 6700
They botched this release, I hope their next generation has better value
4070 is expensive.
7800XT is way less expensive.
t. Nvidia user, went from 1070 to 7800XT
>7800XT is way less expensive.
Depends on location, here in easteuroland they are the same price
I bought mine for 650$ while the 4070 is 800$.
Still expensive, but less expensive.
The frick? I can get a 7800 XT for around 550€ while 4070s are around 650€.
With or without taxes?
I'm assuming with since Europe.
ye prices here always include taxes
Not OP but I just checked my current prices
>Gigabyte: 580€
>PowerColor: 600€
>Sapphire: 610€
and for 4070
>ASUS: 640€
>Gigabyte: 650€
I got the Gigabyte 4070 on discount for 615€ while the 7800XT didn't budge
They pretty much need a price difference of at least 80 euros for the 7800XT to be better value and with electricity prices in my country it's not worth it
Power is really not an issue.
Assuming 8 hours of daily usage at peak power, I only save 30$ a year, so I need 5 years for it to be worth it, at which point I assume it's going to be outdated anyway.
I pay 300 euroshekels per MWh, shit's fricked
At this price difference then yes, it's a non brainer
Here both were 600 euros, only fluctuating slightly
When I ordered my parts, the 4070 was only 20 euros higher
No. But it's more expensive for slightly less performance and 25% less vram.
4070 does raytracing better than 7800XT it seems, but the tank to both cards is unacceptable. Also only 2 real games so far have actual raytracing, cyberpunk and Alan wake 2. Any others have tacked on RT just to say they have it which is essentially a waste of performance for nothing. Unless youre trying to use 500/600 gpus for 1080p. Cyberpunk RT looks great tho.
Most people will never buy amd period though. Because something something drivers. But if the 7000s cards have similar drivers to my 6700 then they're not any worse than my 970 was.
I get like 45fps with path tracing on my 7900xt. That's at 1080p and with FSR 2.1 turned on. I drop it down to psycho and I get 75-81 FPS. For the life of me, I can't tell the difference between medium, high, psycho, or PT just from looking at it, and that's while at Lizzy's Bar. I swear to Christ, this shit is just for cherrypicked images and benchmark dickwaving.
should I upgrade from my 2080S to a 4070ti / 4080 or wait for 50xx?
Wait for 40XX super instead
The only Super GPU that has a meaningful increase in CUDA count is the 4070 but it still has the same VRAM pool and bus width. The rest are like a 7% increase. For what? The same prices people hated the non-super versions at launch for? Nvidia fanboys are just stockholm syndrome battered wives now.
It's an issue for both manufacturers
There is a gap for the middle ground GPU market, something that has raster and VRAM for 1440p and can benefit from FSR/DLSS and framegen but without emphasis on raytracing since the only games that have meaningful implemented it can't use it properly without high end cards
Both offerings are terrible value, we need another 6700/3060, solid, fair priced mid tiers
Yeah. Agreed. Both sides are in a rough position right now. 7600xt might be good. If AMD can give it a solid bus, and an attractive price. The 4060 would be stellar for a low profile card, and they're doing that right now with some AIBs. But we're seeing horrible gen-on-gen improvement unless you're looking at the top-end. 4090s are still melting cables, AMD doesn't want to do high end next gen, and Intel is silent about their upcoming Battlemage. (I hope it does well, even if I'm not much of a fan of Intel these days).
Mid tiers are a money sink. High end gpus make all the money, and if mid tiers didn't exist you would have to buy one, or buy low tier, which means upgrading more often to keep up in an industry designed with the 4070/7700xt as a baseline when the most popular cards to buy RIGHT NOW are still the 3060 and 6700
God I miss my 6700, what a beast
Ran and sounded like a tractor burning marine tar and handled everything I threw at it without a complaint
My 7900xtx was 300€ cheaper than the cheapest 4080 here
Does it crash sometimes? Yes
Would I pay 300€ extra for 10% worse raster, 25% better raytracing performance and to avoid having to reinstall drivers a couple times? Not really
>Does it crash sometimes? Yes
How often is sometimes?
Once or twice per game then it never does
You find the setting which fricks up your card then you disable it
For example, been playing monster hunter world, couple of crashes if I use DX12, disable it, never crashes again in +50h
Same happened with rdr2, vsync gave me issues, disable it, now works
Nvidia basically saves you having to go through the troubleshooting when you start playing some games
The only time my xt crashes was when I tried to use downsampling with Armored Core 6 or trying to play New Vegas without community bug fixes. Adrenaline shits the bed every two to three months, though, necessitating a DDU and fresh install. Always starts to happen after Windows forces an update on me. I wish I had that image of the "We have an update for you" and it shows a guy brandishing a knife at someone.
So nvidia.....Is a better product?
>power efficiency mitigates price difference
>no troubleshooting necessary
>better upscaling
>better rt performance
>better framegen
>better anti-lag (amd antilag gets you vac-banned as well lol)
>better video codec
>longer driver support
>faster feature adoption (amd 5000 series can't do mesh rendering in unreal 5. Rtx 20 series, which is over a year older, can)
>amd can no longer pull the underdog card with Intel in the race
I see no reason to buy amd lol.
Forgot
>far better at any productive app blender people
>far better vr support. Vr people would never think about buying an amd card
How much do you get paid for this and how small is your penis?
I refuse to believe you typed this out and didnt have saved it somewhere
Oof. Didn't even pretend to have a rebuttal. How embarrassing
what's the point of Vram when your card isn't even powerful enough to utilize it with good frames.
spreadsheet comparisons and texture mods
Same thing with low-end Ada cards. Can't even utilize all the CUDA cores they have on it, because the bus width is shit.
Kureeeee!!!
If all you want is to play videogames then AMD is superior and there is no arguing it so long as you accept that you may not be able to use ray tracing in the most demanding games.
If you want ray tracing, proooompting and general work, you'll have to go with nvidia
I can use path tracing in CP2077 and get 45 FPS with FSR 2.1. It's not even fricking worth it when I can get 75-81 with Psycho or 90-100 with high. The differences are impossible to pick out unless you start taking comparison screenshots and nitpicking tiny details.
AMD can still do AI and general work, just slower than nvidia.
She needs to do a scene for NATLANED
