I recently replayed this game for the first time since I was a kid. Some of the level designs did annoy me but the amazing music carries the game hard. probably the same could be said for all sonic games though
I remember liking the concept of having two characters at once but also not liking how at least half of them played. I feel like Sonic and Tails got the short end of the stick because they were the designated starter pair. Sonic was missing like half his moves.

While people do like 2 more, I like 3 for the exploration aspects while also still allowing for the fast gameplay. Team mechanics were also pretty neat.
