Is the definitive edition worth 4 bucks? Is it any good to play single player?

No.
No marvel slop is worth a cent
It manages to do everything wrong with a super hero video game. Think about Spider-Man and all it's fan service shit and Avengers has none of that.
>asking this question on Ganker
lol
but the answer is yes, just don't bother trying to max out your gear after the campaign because that part is a slog
That combo is cool until you see it did frick-all damage.
It's a training dummy, it doesn't die.
it's a training room, you're not supposed to kill that dummy you're supposed to dodge it
>look at me juggle this sandbag
you can make plenty of crappy action games look deep by doing this. show me actual combat.
This game has been out forever, just look it up on youtube dumbass.
no one makes action games where you can juggle enemies anymore
Fatih of Danschant Hereafter
F.I.S.T.
Genokids
Project DT
Assault Spy dev's new game
Lost Soul Aside
Enenra
>inb4 goalpost moving/claiming you were akshully asking for released games
play more games
vaporware doesn't count
I only have webms of people playing like shit
All action games look the same to me gameplay wise.
>tfw you realize all these moves are from Marvel vs Capcom and from Marvel Heroes
there movesets in the game reference games and movies a fair bit
for example hulk has a gamma wave attack like the one in MVC3, ironman has that spinning laser attack from the movie and hulkbuster has some attacks from the movie too like the one where he grabs hulk and jackhammer punches him
The demo was honestly pretty cool, as on-rails and "woah cinematic" as it was. Too bad the rest of the game is nothing like that
Did they really choose 2 versions of Hawkeye and Muslim Marvel over Scarlet Witch? Or lesser people like Ant Man?
yea
the devs really had no concept of fan service, only their 'vision' which involved slaving away to create post launch story missions for free that people would only play once
The campaign is fantastic. It was the live service BS that sucked ass. With all the free dlc they added, its absolutely worth $4
Nah not really. 1st campaign has you rotating between the avengers so you'll only be playing in their weakest states which feels unsatisfying.
guess I'll grab it for the steam deck
Kamala is cute
Its only marginally better then the Xbox 360 marvel movie games so unless for some insane reason you want slightly better versions of dogshit don't bother.
It's worse. They can't even tell a linear story with this game because this homie shows up the moment you enter the live service section and spoils the first 3 campaigns. Even the LEGO games are better than it.
I don't know why they bothered with that
he wasn't in the game at launch, they just tossed him in the game in the most awkward hamfisted way and it ends up being detrimental
Utterly baffling design choice, I can only assume they figured they weren’t ever selling more copies and all players still there were legacy and would have known the outcomes already, still fricking moronic.
4 bucks yeah, I feel awful for the people that bought the deluxe edition at $80 when it released
It's good in a "don't expect anything good" kind of way. As in it's shit but it has redeeming qualities that can make it enjoyable for a few days.
I played for like 2 hours and the missions were "disable the shield generators and fight this mininboss". My gut told me that's the whole game. I was right. It's insane how much resources went into the presentation and everything but the core loop is atrocious
There's also a bunch of handcrafted, parkour/platforming/follow-white-paint segments in the campaigns that don't ever get reused again because god forbid you do something other than fighting while grinding. Most of the traversal skills can also be ignored after those parts because everyone sane would just main a flying character.
It's certainly worth $4, it was the GAAS part that sank it, not the single player.
>Gone forever
They're delisting the game?
yea, I assume it has to do with licensing bullshit because the servers aren't going down for the foreseeable future
Servers only affect random matchmaking i think. Actual multiplayer is P2P and you can invite through your friends list. Events have been decoupled from the servers and is fully based on your system date now.
>Events have been decoupled from the servers and is fully based on your system date now.
I didn't know this, that's funny
They've already implemented that early in the game and it was a known cheesy method to farm event rewards, just that you had to go offline previously.
For that price, yeah. I’ve played the campaign twice, ended up getting plat on Playstation (not worth the grind though)
Decent enough campaign and cutscenes, looks good, enough characters for varying gameplay styles (although noted this is much better in postgame as the campaign cycles characters as you go so you won’t experience them all at their peaks)
Suffers from a weird thing where they don’t have MCU licensing but wanted to make an MCU game, instead of leaning into a more comic book style, but it’s not the end of the world if you enjoy capeshit anyway.
I’d jump in at that price, play the campaigns and leave. Unfortunately, the post game missions get fricking ruined by a dumb cutscene they added with Nick Fury who drops a load of exposition and spoils the endings, but they’re still a fun enough time.
AAAAH SHE HAS BIG HANDS! RUN AWAY!
No, just get it for free.
Why is it being delisted? A game selling for $4 forever is still making more money then a game that's not being sold at all.
Servers costs and licensing costs.
They're keeping the servers up for now, and no one is buying it now for the online GAAS component.
Apparently Crystal Dynamics didn't want to make it but sqeenix held their onions supply hostage. Now they are no longer under sqeenix and the games sucks so.
for some reason lots of marvel shit gets delisted fairly fast
there's lots of early 2010s marvel shit that was on steam but not anymore, games like deadpool and some spiderman games
I can't buy the Deadpool game? No wonder I never see it on sale. It's one of those "I wanted to play one day" games.
Makes me wonder if it actually is some weird licensing issues where they have to renew every year instead of getting it in perpetuity for each game.
yea, I'm thinking it's a marvel games division problem rather than a disney problem because not even star wars games get delisted like marvel games do
I had no idea so many of these games were delisted, some years ago. A lot are games I would have bought if I had noticed them on sale.
It's kind of crazy to me that Marvel games became worse after the MCU blew up
Like you think they'd be trying harder to make them good
I'm tempted to get it since they're releasing all the "in-game store" content for free after they shut it down but having to be forced to play Kamala is why nobody wants to fricking play this
I'm not sure if that's a good reason to pick it up. A lot of the costumes are the same models but different colors or textures, if they were really generous they would've allow you to customize the colors. Also the alternate costumes break immersion if you use them during the campaign. Don't wanna miss Cap's HD nipples
GAAS is why it sold so poorly. Kutie Kamala is great.
>Kutie Kamala is great.
tons of literal trash that's currently selling well is because of GAAS. People wanted an Avengers game, period
Exactly, they wanted a solid single player experience, they didn't want a 3rd person looter shooter.
