the first one is good for its time , but I don't know how it'll hold up for you in 2023
2nd is shit , literally an mmo tier trash
I haven't touched the 3rd one even though I have it since 2015 ,it's still sitting somewhere in my closet
If you liked Mass Effect then you probably won't like DAO. The protagonist is unvoiced and you get full sentence dialog options. Check out DA2, that's more your speed.
First DA is definitely worth playing but it can get a bit tedious. 2 and Inquisition are not as good but your mileage may vary depending on how much you let Ganker define your opinions.
Origins works as standalone. Ignore 2 and Inquisition. 2 barely has anything to do with Origins but it sets up Inquisition with its retarded mages vs templar storyline. Origins has more replayability. 2 your protag is voiced and I blame Mass Effect for that. Dialogue wheel funny. Inquisition does the same thing and the areas in that game are too big full of NOTHING.
Origins is fantastic. Its one of the last great Western RPGs before the dark times an Bioware's final masterpiece. Absolutely a must play if you enjoyed Mass Effect
Dragon Age 2 is meh. A very disappointing and casualized sequel but if you really love Origins and want more of that style gameplay it's worth it.
Keep in mind the art style is trash, the gameplay and character building is worse and the story has nothing to do with Origins. Has its moments and some interesting writing but overall its no Origins.
Inquisition is AAA western open world goyslop. AVOID if you hate open world and the current state of modern western games.
But that's my opinion, there's some who like it. I loved Origins and Inquisition to me was garbage.
Overall I recommend Origins for sure.
2 ehh if you like the gameplay I guess. Just don't expect just else or any of the same feels from Origins.
Inquisition if you can stomach modern AAA stuff, but I'd say avoid.
DA: O is like a finetuned fantasy version of the KOTOR games, if you enjoyed those you will enjoy DA: O. If you haven't played KOTOR then play those immediately
>The story and everything else is good
if you think so, I don't remember getting in DA2 story as much as I did in DAO
however I did fall in love with the sexy nerdy elf as a teenager
started a playthrough of orgin about 3 times. Never got past where it starts to feel more free choice. The genre is dead, that's the problem. We're spoiled for combat and it doesn't operate as a good enough DnD experience. However, it was very good when it came out.
3 goes off the rails and a lot of decisions you make in the tapestry dont matter. Origins is great, Awakening is great. DA2 has a great story and entourage but the rest is trash. Not bad for less than a year in development though.
DA2 story was good for the first 2 acts then act 3 happened and the rival system was the best they've added to DA yet.
The DLC for inquisition was the best part about it, and the multiplayer was surprisingly fun.
Origins has a great beginning and end and a good middle
Awakening was good
2 was trash with the same 4 dungeons, and a terrible story that ended on a depressing note, the DLC had more promise
Inquisition squandered it.
>western rpg
no
>Saying no to DA:Origins
My boy are you retarded?
OP definitely give Origins a try, Ignore 2 & Inquisition as they are fucking awful.
>series
No, unfortunately. Origins is great though. Just pretend 2 and Inquisition don't exist.
Origins is an amazing game. 2 and Inquisition are GARBAGE.
Origins is the most overrated mediocre game you'll ever play. It's literally baby's first RPG.

First game and addon are great, rest should be skipped since it's chud fanfiction.
Its hit or miss for most people, if you like it you'll love it if you don't you'll probably think its a shit game
DA:O and its Awakening expansion are generic and by-the-numbers in a good way. The others are awful.
>I liked Mass Effect
if you liked 2, 3, and Andromeda then you will like Dragon Age.

I remember not liking the human race tutorial sequence and thinking it was too slow
it took the whole 2009 summer + a couple of tries to get into it

It's a fantastic bull or cuck simulator depending on your choices.
bottom for me
Origins was good, ignore the rest

2 is goyslop. Literally PRESS BUTTON SOMETHING AWESOME HAPPENS the game.
If you don't mind kinda cringy Bioware writing too much it's alright
No. Origins is the only one worth playing and even then it's middling. Some really great aspects and some pretty shitty ones.
DA: O is like a finetuned fantasy version of the KOTOR games, if you enjoyed those you will enjoy DA: O. If you haven't played KOTOR then play those immediately
Dragon Age Origins is good, especially the DLC.
Dragon Age 2 is nothing like Origins. The story and everything else is good but the combat is bad.
Inquisition is a mix between Origins and DA2 and is pretty good. The DLC is really good.
>Dragon Age Origins is good, especially the DLC.
I was thinking about trying Awakening but the rest of your comment tells me you can't be trusted
Oh sorry, I forgot I'm not allowed to form my own opinion and must parrot the Ganker hive mind.
shut up chud go be wrong somewhere else
Okay, Chudders.
>The story and everything else is good

I said no such thing. I just said that I can't trust your opinion on Awakening because I know you are wrong on DA2 and Inquisition
3 is trash you are a gay normy. I bet you cant wait for 4 to come out.
Tis cold in my tent, anon.

Most people only consider DA:O worth playing
My game standards have finally reached rock bottom and I like all DA games (but still hate the fandom)
