I'm sure it's not as good as other classes, but I enjoyed a build with aoe melee lightning, the channeled thunderstorm, and the werewolf howl species to regen spirit.
>No Paladin >No Monk >Rogue is an extremely boring version of assassin without any of the cool shit

>Rogue is an extremely boring version of assassin without any of the cool shit
I feel like they kinda just took the blander abilities from Assassin and Demon Hunter to make the Rogue.
Imagine if we got the best of both worlds instead of the worst.
>No Paladin >No Monk >Rogue is an extremely boring version of assassin without any of the cool shit
Blizzard has turned disappointing sequels into an art form
No paladin no monk because the base game story is "Religion bad". It wouldn't make sense.
I mean it would have been interesting to get some different perspectives on the story from different characters but apparently they cba
How can the story be "religion bad" when it's about an evil demon that needs to be killed? All of a sudden "the light" is also evil? How can a game about fighting the forces of hell not let you be someone who specifically exists to smite darkness? God damn it people
don't worry they just wanted to set a depressing and grimdark setting at launch.
I GUARANTEE you all the archetypes from D2 will be playable.
In the first hero DLC/patch or whatever they'll drop a Crusader/Paladin archetype.
That pretty much covers every single role from D2.
It's pretty cool I thought. The good guy who is like Jesus Christ wants to destroy Lilith but in doing so the battle would be too epic and destroy Sanctuary/all the people on it, so you have to defeat Lilith before JC does. I was pretty invested in the story and I thought the setting and imagery was all really good. I've heard people compare D3 to Harry Potter so I was pleasantly surprised.
D3 is a standard demons shit things up story, the presentation was ass though. >tyrael is now tyrone >lord of lie doesnt lie >azmodan cant stop streaming his webcam >troony diablo with boobs and heels
Did you actually play Act 1's story in the beta? >You chase Lilith the entire time but she doesnt actually do anything directly bad outside of maybe letting some zealot villagers off their leash a little too quickly, everything bad they did they do out of their own free will >She didn't even kill Rathma, Innarius did, she mourned him and would have offered him a place on her side even if he didn't wanna pick a side
They're going for the whole subvert your expectations route. Lilith is a mother caring about her children (Humans) that wants to see them thrive and will use hell and demons to do it
Innarius is an angry deadbeat dad that wants nothing to do with humans and will kill whoever he wants to get what he wants.
You're giving Lilith way too much slack here. She incites violence regularly and encourages human sacrifice/ritual suicide. She drove Neyrelle's mother mad. In the intro she tricks the nog into killing himself for knowledge.
>You're giving Lilith way too much slack here
Possibly, but then Lilith never personally slights you in Act 1 meanwhile Innarius was just an butthole and straight up murdered an important lore character, his own son even.
So I'm more inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt
The trophies for the game has been leaked already and killing Lilith as the last boss is on there, Innarius isn't.
Whatever your thoughts about the main story is it won't change the fact that we are going to be killing Lilith at the end of the game regardless, not Innarius.
Part of me is still suspicious its a bait and switch. Like of course if the twist final boss is Diablo, Innarrius or zombie deckard cain or something it's not gonna be listed as a trophy
I played up to the point where Lilith appears and makes everyone murder the priest in the cutscene before you're supposed to leave the village. She's been straight up evil the whole time they've shown her so far
She doesn't like priest's or the church. She sees them as poisonous to her children (Humans) and making them feel ashamed to be themselves, and tilting them towards extremist beliefs and furthering the conflict between heaven and hell by making humans think >Angels - good >Demons - bad
When angels wanted to vote to nuke them out of existence to begin with. You can even see in the church cutscene the priest is properly shaming the villagers attending the service and her speech is literally >just b urself kids

>but then Lilith never personally slights you in Act 1
You are fed her petals before you even meet her, so I wouldn't be surprised if you don't end up playing some greater role in her plan later on. Remember you're the only person that sees her in all the visions. I'm pretty sure its a both sides are evil shtick based off all the dialogue from the Hermit as well.

No. She's already been shown as being bad already, with her having people sacrifice other innocent people to her for their blood.
At most it will be sympathetic evil, but still evil.

Are you moronic? The game very much shoehorns the idea early on that Inaurius is also a force of evil. All of the hermit's dialog centers around needing to stop Lilith before Inaurius does because humanity is at stake. You have to be the most stupid mouthbreather ever to not pick up on all of this.
It's definitely implied in the flashback things with Inarius becoming angry with Rathma when he wouldn't hand over the Key...but I could see it all be subterfuge to make Lilith think that Inarius is the culprit.

Beyond it being implied, Lorath's monologue at the end of the beta campaign outright says that Inarius killed Rathma. It could be possible that Lorath is just an unreliable narrator here, but I think that's asking for too much thought from Actiblizz.
Nah it's a "woman power" moment. Lillith being a "morally grey" villain like Sylvanas and Jaina and Tyrande really just seals the deal that even Diablo is infested with the women and trans menace at blizzard.
Lillith isn't morally grey.
She is outright evil. But in the Papa Nurgle kind of evil, where she loves her children (humankind) and wants them to indulge in sin.

you are moronic and you think you know that this is a retcon, when this has always been the case, Lilith and Inarius making Sanctuary with the Worldstone has ALWAYS been the backstory, and their children were humanity.
Lilith has always viewed Humanity as her children, who yes, she wants to use to stop the Great Conflict, but has no desire for Hell or Heaven to win it, she wants to rule over humanity after Humanity defeats both.
>All of a sudden "the light" is also evil? >All of a sudden
Angels have been buttholes in the games (not counting novels) since D3 at least, with Imperius talking about exterminating humanity and Malthael actually going through with it
Then why the frick are there necromancers, who are the biggest religious autists in existence, so supremely devout that they are completely incorruptible?
Submitting to uncaring, unwavering all powerful light deities that see you as pawns bad
Understanding that death is just a natural process in the world and not to be feared good
I dont think the message is religion is bad its more about people losing themselves to obsession and intense dogma within large structures/ external savior shit.
The random quests seem to show how individual pious people engaging in holy acts based on the scenario and personal experience are better than people deferring to authority of the church.
I think overall the message of the game is going to be that both Inarius and Lilith are fricked up wackos because they are out of balance one being an angel and one being a demon and that human beings are capable of balance. Its going to center around the theme of Rathma being right about everything.

said, not so much as "religion bad" but "fanaticism bad". There are plenty of religious NPCs that are obviously good but still disagree with how the church is doing some stuff at this point, like the exorcist woman for example. Also kinda irrelevant but damn me, Vigo's death kinda got to me even though it was obviously coming

Also moron npcs constantly seeing dead bodies next to demon goat men and wondering out loud "Who could have killed them??"

Kek, did WD get soft canceled at some point? Did Blizzard apologize for making it or something?
He was the only D3 class not included in Diablo Immortal because China doesn't like nigs, and they wanted them to be their main market. It's pretty safe to say they are not gonna risk bringing him back now, even after getting kicked out of China - just in case, you know. I guess some people complained WD doesn't really fit the tone of setting for one reason or another as well, some were salty it tried to fit the spot of Necromancer, because for some fricking reason everyone has a massive boner for that class. Like, Necro is fine, but I never felt stronger about it than let's say Paladin or Amazon.

they just have a lot of stuff going against them >very similar to Necro, and the Diablo fanbase has made it clear that many of them want Necro in all future games. >China doesn't like them because they're nigs >coomers don't give a frick about them
It's definitely in the game and I'm not sure why people aren't talking about it. In the mines Vigo uses a wall of light spell which is obviously some kind of holy thing. It's got the exact same colour and design as his bubble in the act 1 boss
Considering that you can beat the beta "hard" mode with Sorc/Necro by leaving your character and going out of your house the druid can be considered bad because you need to click sometimes from time to time
I want to be a cute or hot druid girl, why did the beta only have one body type per class, I don't want a super skiny necro nor do I want some fat woman, only rouge, barb and maybe sorc had decent girls
idk it felt weak and i went for a generic solo player build revolving around Pulverize legendary that instantly cleared the screen which was fun.
I even had 2 werewolf companions doing my bidding, it was good but compared to playing the casters definitely felt like it was hard mode, especially for singel target dps.
Yeah I found the one that makes it an earth skill and gives it a longer duration and then another that causes it to send out a shockwave doing 200% damage. I had a lot of fun with it. Was hitting some 2k+ crits...which isn't really shit compared to the busted shit I've seen, but my gear and build wasn't upgraded or optimized and I had fun.
nothing, they're just boomers.
Even PoE focuses on a select few buttons, I'd say it's really hard to balance a game the more buttons it has, and yet even then like PoE it will still funnel people to revolve their buttons around a select few.
That's always such a moronic argument. How many abilities do you use in other RPGs? No matter the game you will always eventually limit yourself to select few best skills, even pure action/fighting games will have that one or two attacks where you start thinking "I could just spam that and clear everything". Diabe-girlkes are games based on optimization, you enjoy number crunching and theorizing the best possible build as much as actually playing it. Moreover you get multiple classes, with multiple possible builds available to them, so it's not like you spend 1000 hours playing just one single spec, you switch around. Very often you use different builds for early/mid/lategame, since different skills can be most optimal at different stages of your gear, like in D2 where you often reset after every difficulty, and there are some builds that come into play only after acquiring specific endgame runewords.
Of course, unless you just enjoy a specific build, ever since the buff to Fist of Heaven in D2 I could spend months playing nothing else, that build is just that cool.
Most games aren't as primitive as these, all you're doing is traversing a flat maze and grinding using a couple of instant cast AOEs, doing it for thousands of hours is more akin to mental illness or gambling addiction.
I feel bad for every druid that never got the Pulverize legendary, it's like what the class revolves around (In the Beta)
I'd aggro the whole screen and one shot everything and move on.
Pulverize was doing that for me without any legendaries (minus like the extra health mooks and elites/minibosses/whatever). I feel like people weren't leveling up individual skills so they could explore more of the skill tree and then making dumb assumptions.
Base Pulverize is good no doubt, it's just that the radius is pretty small.
The legendary amps up the damage and makes it a shockwave that extends outwards and covers the screen, it's incredible when you consider the beta's difficulty and gameplay loop is about leveling.
i played Barb to 25, it starts off really slow, but after about lvl 15 or so, he's actually pretty good.
Had a Bleed/Shout build with a bit of thorns sprinkled in.
>probably because i had a thing that makes landslide cast twice and another that makes you do more damage the longer you stand still.
This is a classic build blunder. You valued synergies between shitty skills, rather than just using good skills and making those even better.
Everything is fricked mate. It's not even funny how nothing make any sense whatsoever. I blitz through the game one shotting everything with necro using left and right click and the ultimates did half the dmg of my regular ass attack.
it's fricking embarrassing. They spent 99% of their time writing garbage dialogs and making useless narrative scripts.
barb was actually the fastest dungeon clearer in the beta. Rogue was the highest single target deeps if you exclude the barbarian bug there you stacked damaged via shouts that compounded while you were channeling whirlwind. There's a clip out there of a barb literally hitting 11mil with that bug. But if you exclude that then a ww barb going full shout and obviously the correct legendary aspects, it was by far the fastest dungeon clearer
Barbarian was actually challenging, i did the world boss on my barb as well and was the only person not dying. And i did it all with lunging strike, rend, challenging shout, rupture, death blow and call of the ancients so didn't even have charge/leap.
Is this really that earth build that has been pushed around as the best? People really need to bother trying stuff around themselves because my frankenbuild did significantly better than that.
Imo if you went straight with the nature abilities it feels more shaman than druid. I know druid in Diablo 2 had elemental spells but I wish there was more to the abilities than what we got in Diablo 4.
>using the shitty Boulder >using the shitty Earth Basic >actually using the good Core skill, but isn't using the Teramote passive that makes it OP with guaranteed crits that deal 40% More Crit Damage
Legit L2P moment.
>probably because i had a thing that makes landslide cast twice and another that makes you do more damage the longer you stand still.
This is a classic build blunder. You valued synergies between shitty skills, rather than just using good skills and making those even better.
i assure you it was mostly intentional
no, i just asked what i should play to suffer the most on hardcore and some anons said an earth druid so that's what i did.
>Right clicks the boss a couple times with Rogue's arrow Barrage. >Boss is dead.
I really enjoyed Barb and Druid but they are complete garbage. Even Necro is dull when he almost permanently loses a skill slot.
It's two slots if you count the golem buff/taunt ability.
That said the skeletons got absolutely buttfricked by the world boss so I have a feeling they'll be next to useless and most Necros will just run the passives you get from not having any minions out.
I played corpse explosion as a necro and loved it. It's easy mode with massive aoe nukes. But then I played druid werewolf poison and even though it is way below the necro ce power level I enjoyed it. The dps wasn't amazing but I could kill things reasonably fast with shred, rabies and that affix that turned your wolves into werewolves. When I played necro I was sure I had found my main but after werewolf poison I'm not sure anymore. My only pet peeve with werewolf is that claw is single target and not a cleave ability.
>My only pet peeve with werewolf is that claw is single target and not a cleave ability.
That's because the bear basic attack is the cleave. Werebear seems to be for groups and tanking and Werewolf is more single target, poison and regen.
Too bad Druid is bad, because he looks like a character from the Bible who would have had a flock of ten thousand sheep, and who would have had 600 sons, and who would have fought an angel and become a king.
why does everyone hate the character creator in this game? you can look like an ancient babylonian king or a mongolian warlord. what the frick is not to like here, exactly? much better than the dyel irish moron druid from diablo 2
I never liked shapeshift as a mechanic. >you can turn into a bear!
Okay I'd play a dedicated warrior >you can turn into a rat or some shit
Okay I'd play a dedicated rogue >you can just be a shitty caster
Okay I'd play a dedicated caster
Somebody argued with me that shapeshifting isn't what druids are all about too. That's literally their key gimmick all the way back in D&D. Most of the time I just saw them used for some obscure, meta multiclassing shit where you don't actually play as a druid anyway.
Anyone have any idea about late-game stuff? I tried a couple of classes but I kinda liked my melee Rogue that spammed Vulnerabilty shit the most so I'll probably go with that no matter what but I kinda want to know what to expect.
Bro people are fricking moronic and just gobble up whatever the internet/ favorite youtuber says without question.
Kripp actually released a tier list for the classes during the 2 day beta. I am not arguing dude isn't knowledgeable or good at RPGs, but it just goes to show how no one knows what the frick they are talking about or what they are watching.
Rathma said that in his vision Inarius took the key to hell from his dead body so his vision was wrong ey? Because Lilith took the key, not Inarius. Get better visions, your prophecy sucks Rathma

I mean he is voiced by Steve Blum. I definately want more Zoltan Kulle as he was like the only funny/cool character from D3.
I think the diablo franchise would be cool like say they got rid of all the major angel and demon characters destroyed heaven and hell and then maybe some minor demons/angels each have some colonies on sanctuary and are generally left alone.
I think it would be cool if we got away from the Sin war aspect of diablo and maybe had conflicts with other entities that are more lovecraftian or elemental in nature, like oh the mages tapped into a realm of arcane/magic entities who have not experienced a physical realm and are trying to experiment in our realm to take back the properties of matter to win a war of domination in their realm but some of them get fricked up by it and go insane and become some anti-life chaotic void entities that are completely schizophrenic nightmare creatures.that are trying to create a blackhole to merge our reality with theirs.
Or how about an insect hivemind that is merged with its own creator god and looks down at santuary, heaven and hell as moronic primitives, its not exactly an enemy or a friend but its basically putting down some energy pylons around sanctuary turning it into a prison/containment zone and the heroes are like hey we have to go to other places and you are messing up our shit here and the insect hivemind creates its own race based off assimilated animals and humans kind of like a diablo version of the Zerg but its got more of an attitude of being a cosmic police man/janitor/border guard and it goes around protecting holy/powerful artifacts and ruins preventing the forces of hell or heaven from gaining access. You could then see how Duriel took the form of a giant bug as it corrupted one of these creatures and why there were so many bug type enemies in act 2 of diablo 2.
In general id like Diablo to be toned down from the world ending scenarios and be more like Indiana Jones.
>Rathma is that wolf
The Wolf is Diablo, 666%. He tells you as much if you keep talking to him. He also says he likes the way things used to be, and thats why he wants Lilith dead.

That wolf is 10000% diablo. I know, I know, diablo doesn't talk so 'calmly' but his attitude towards the horadrim and the fact that you're in fricking hell that was definitely the vibe I got. Also idk why but that's the only part of act 1 where I genuinely gave a shit. I didn't skip any of the wolfs dialogue on my other characters too.
Pretty sure he said he saw just "the key being taken" in his vision, not Inarius doing it. He even calls him out right after that saying something like "if you're the chosen one, then it'll be you".
biggest problem with druid isn't just numbers but how absolutely dependent he is with the legendary aspects so much so that without them you can't even play the class to the level of barb with less gear. I couldn't get the pulverize to earth skill which would've helped more and I think the third pillar with landslide is probably better than the guarenteed crit. Also, druids have only 1 psuedo movement skill omitting werewolf shred and barely any extra move speed like +9% for werewolf so he's always waddling around.
>and barely any extra move speed like +9% for werewolf so he's always waddling around
I thought this was really weird too given how fricking fast werewolf could get in D2 when spec'd right. 9% seems pretty low imo.
I posted that webm earlier and it's from earthen bulwark or whatever it was called which gives a barrier that gets hit before your life and I also had fortify which gives additional damage reduction. Also I spammed potions for his shadow blackberry clump attack because I had shit armor in general
It's pretty terrible.
Even if the damage wasn't so bad it's still really clunky. Animations are slow and awkwardly queue rather than cancelling into each other.
The animations not cancelling was the biggest issue, he's just so slow
I wanted to be able to instaheal with that one werewolf skill but my guy is still running through his absolutely slow animation to cast some earth skill
The window to accept a new command was really janky and it's not obvious when it is either
>attack speed on basic skill >heal/gain fort on shapeshift >pulverize into earth skill >+2 to earth skills while fortified >earth skills slow >near max roll shockwave on 2h >+damage with barrier >+damage based on fortify
these aspects together were amazing and i had no downtime, pulverize was up to rank 9 and the overpower waves were hitting 12k on the entire room by the end. being able to hit twice with one pulverize made it broken. wish i had the spirit boons to mess around with
yes thats how endgame works kiddo, you didnt think you'd compete with blues did you? i dont give a frick if the class is boring or shit with no items because it literally does not matter
>ill have to play the game slightly longer on higher difficulties to get items

Sometimes you need items for your build to come together in these types of games...you're acting like the beta was really egregious. The level cap was 25 and the game is supposed to have lots of end-game content, so it doesn't take a comparatively long amount of play time at all to get your build together, on top of being able to farm stuff on your other chars who might not need items....have you ever played an ARPG before? I don't think any of the classes were as weak as some stuff you can accidentally build yourself into in other ARPG games.

nobody using the "legendary drop rate was boosted" argument should be taken seriously
Yeah sure, but he was hot trash with little survivability compared to a sorcerer, so in the part of the game that everyone actually plays where legendary drops won't be gigainflated he's going to continue to be hot trash
>with little survivability compared to a sorcerer
man my experience with my druid was completely different at around 17-18 I was basically unkillable and I didn't even have all these bullshit uniques that people claim are necessary for it to work
my sorcerer survivability was good but mostly because I was running it with some meme cc build with blizzard, I actually died to that boss/event with the frost goatman that is immune to cc until I respecced into hydras
Your build isn't at all representative of what players could actually expect without hundreds or thousands of hours in the live game.
Players are over the idea of playing games that only get good after 100 hours. It needs to be fun and exciting (and builds mostly functional) from the very early, and playing a dogshit class for all of leveling isn't worth it.
So you pick the most overpowered, braindead, easymode shitter class, cause your bad at the game and don't understand how to build the other classes correctly, got it, imagine that.
Yes, and it will only get worse once the game releases. Barb is the one that isn't half as bad as people think. The scale really well at end game, at least in the closed beta, and they have some very overpowered Unique legendaries.
I attempted it but was getting shit on quite hard since they made it to where you can only have 6 abilities on your bar now, so I had to give up my defensive spells to make any room for all the pets, which by the way you HAVE to have the ability on the bar or else the pet won't spawn even if they're a "Passive" ability.
>did anyone try pure pet druid
Its terrible. So unless there are some Uniques and such not present in the Beta to make it good, its unplayable.
Main Problems:
Wolves do no damage and will die easily later on. There was no fix for this in the Beta. They were helpful distractions early on, but that was it.
Creeper passive is garbage. However the activated ability is good. Combo's great with Landslide because you can use it on packs and get 15 stacks easy, the DoT was good enough to clear out shitters too.
Crow passive is garbage, even if you go from 1 crow to 3, its shit, even worse than Wolves. The activated ability is ok. It needs a bigger AoE and more damage.
The other big issue is that D4 doesn't let you receive the Passive Buffs from skills you don't have on your bar. This was extremely disappointing with Cyclone Armor, and it makes the +All Skills tag a lot less powerful.

also you can get a lego that gives the werewolves one of your ultimate passives at the bottom (20 percent haste).

Maybe when the game finally comes out there will be builds that leave a blank slot and pump passives instead so that you can itemize for a skill instead. You can apparently get a +5 skill to +18 so I bet you can get a gear only skill to a pretty good level without putting points into it from the tree
I tried one because i got a item that gave me 1 more pet for wolf/crow and 120% more damage or something on the active skill, the wolves still did pretty low damage even with the 30% increase pet damage talent. Sending 3 wolves to pounce something and barely do half damage was disheartening. Maybe it works better combined with the trait that turn the wolves into werewolves as well.
Diablo, ethereal lord of terror. Taking over the minds of Leoric and his son, driving them to the brink of insanity.......
But......what if he is the heckin pupper now??? LOL 😀
Yeah, I also thought it might be Meph...I didn't catch the sigil but I thought maybe the Prime Evils might be interfering and the Lord of Lies would be the prime suspect.
Yeah, I also thought it might be Meph...I didn't catch the sigil but I thought maybe the Prime Evils might be interfering and the Lord of Lies would be the prime suspect.
Yeah because Diablo has such breadth of characters and all...........there's um.........uh..........uhhhh.........Deckard Cain.....and uh........
.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................Deckard Cai- oh wait he died. ROTFL
Yeah, I think it's cool there are more players in this, even if it ends up being Diablo (he IS the titular character after all and that Tristram flashback was probably both foreshadowing and just fsnservice)
Nope. It's very legendary hungry but with a full earth pulverise + landslide build I one shot elites just like I did on every other class (except the ones I didn't play)
Cant wait until we get the paragon system which looks to be a return of the "stats" D2 players are crowing about.
Itemization and skill tree can still be either tweaked or fixed. It won't happen in 2 months but there's a real chance that the game will be excellent.
(We also haven't seen how aids the MTX will be so, whatever)
Whats a good ARPG to play if I only played FATE as a kid?
>Bounced off Torchlight 2 early multiple times >Bounced off Pillars of Eternity early (after getting out of fish cave) cause it being free to play gave me the feeling the pacing would be slow and I found the mage boring and generic.
It seems that most ARPG just kinda borrow from the same fantasy and class templates and are just trying to get you to the part where you theory craft post game builds and have boring worlds and boring fights. In FATE I remember there randomly being packs of enemies that would be dramatically higher level then you and you would have to just run from them or get lucky. Most arpg's just feel like idle games where you play a guy. Are there any cool ARPG's? Any that kinda surprise you in some way?
All the classes are a mixed bag at the beginning. More than half the "main skill" options suck unless you get a legendary made specifically for it that doubles the damage and/or coverage. They're already doing what people dislike about D3's balance.
Depends on why you like/hate each game. The gameplay feels closer to D3 but the stats and itemization is taking a step away from D3 while the atmosphere and artstyle is closer to D2. That said, all of that pseudo MMO/GAAS stuff are completely new and arguably ill-fit for a mainline Diablo game imo.
As someone who loves 2 and kind of enjoyed 3 somewhat, I liked what I've played of 4 so far.
Druid is fricked right now and I really hope they fix it but it's a 7/10 so far to me.
I had fun using the upgrade on landslide that lets you stack guaranteed crits every time you stun or immobilize. And then just picked every ability that let me immobilize to stack the crits up. I was doing shit damage compared to my necro bro but it was fun pulping ghouls between slabs of rock.
I tried Diablo 1. Made it to floor 5 and I'm not sure I can push through any longer...some of you hyped this up way too much. Playing as a warrior is very boring. Is Diablo 2 much better than this?
>Playing as a warrior is very boring.
Shoulda picked the rogue famalan. >Is Diablo 2 much better than this?
The """"""correct""" opinion is yes. But actually it's no.
Are there classes there where I can at least cast more abilities and do big AoE damage? I really like the setting and story but the gameplay in D1 is just not doing it for me.
>All the classes use the same spells.
I meant for Diablo 2. As far as D1 goes, all the spell tomes and scrolls require magic and I have 9 in the magic stat, am I supposed to start leveling it up? Do all the classes end up using each others shit by the time Hell rolls around?
>I have 9 in the magic stat, am I supposed to start leveling it up?
Yes. Each class has a cap though with warrior and rogue being lower, and mage being the highest.
>Is Diablo 2 much better than this?
Yes.
Disregard this
>Playing as a warrior is very boring.
Shoulda picked the rogue famalan. >Is Diablo 2 much better than this?
The """"""correct""" opinion is yes. But actually it's no.
Has been a long time since I played it but D1's strong point was always the atmosphere/setting for me, the gameplay was just serviceable enough. D2 lost a bit of that but makes up for it with way more gameplay options
>but D1's strong point was always the atmosphere/setting for me,
I'll admit the atmosphere here is amazing and its a shame if D2 doesn't capture it as well. When I'm running around the dungeon looking for mobs I actually get a little bit startled when something shoots at me or pops out of the shadows. The soundtrack as well is phenomenal. The voice acting has been kind of hit or miss but I think some of the campyness may be intended.

If you like putting 20 points into one skill and spamming that one skill over and over again in the end game then, yeah.
Being the progenitor of the genre doesn't mean shit, because that title I assumed went to Diablo 1, but Diablo 1 is far away from ANY ARPG I've played, including PoE, Grim Dawn, Torchlight, and the Diablo 4 beta. Does Diablo 2 have more in common with 1 or 4? I'm installing it right now anyway.
It has more in common with 2. Diablo 2 is like they took Diablo 1 and just made it better. Nothing was removed or made worse, except maybe the strategy element since Diablo 1 gameplay is much slower (it was meant to be turn based). If you like fighting only 1 - 3 monsters at once, you might say that Dark Souls is a closer sequel....
>Diablo 2 is like they took Diablo 1 and just made it better.
Remember when the dungeon just kept going and going and going and then you're in hell? Well yeah like now dude you can just go all over the world! Ahhh wide open empty fields.........that's my heckin diablo....................
Because without help from an anon on Ganker I doubt I would have gotten Diablo 1 in a playable state. The GOG version was crashing my computer on start-up.
Shit, now I feel bad, sorry. The base game of Diablo 2 is fine with the expansion. The graphics are pretty rough nowadays and I'd honestly say play the remaster, it's still the same game, there's not much QOL mods needed to make the game feel better. I'd say just play the remastered version.
So you pick the most overpowered, braindead, easymode shitter class, cause your bad at the game and don't understand how to build the other classes correctly, got it, imagine that.
This genre is braindead journo inclusive. You wanna at least larp a hardcore gamer with your ebin loot games, go play Nioh or something.
>Do betas 2 months before launch >hype dies so fast that no one was even streaming the open beta in the last few days
isn't this kinda moronic, would it not been much better to rush the release and surprise everybody and move the launch to april 6 so people fomo
Completely mad the character creator doesn’t let me make a cute goth necromancer except a fatty. I wanted a chubby goth who never has to lift a finger because of her minions.
I didn't really find it particularly tough or different at first. I think at lvl 18 or something I got legendary that makes Pulverize make a giant shockwave that travels way out (pretty much off-screen) and suddenly life became easier, nothing really gave me problems and I was chewing through multiple pulls of elites giving 0 fricks vs normal mobs clumps.
On hitting lvl 22 I tried the strongholds, one of them (the one with the three succubi as the big boss) was super fricking easy but the other two were hard for me. That frosthoof champion thing fricked my ass up bad at first because that homosexual just continually freeze-locks you so you can't heal, and the vampire dude has that attack where he spams a hose of blood drops at you that also got me killed a few times and at first. I was pissed but got very close to killing both and thought my gear just wasn't good enough. So I capped 25 and got a few more pieces of gear and then managed to clear them but it took effort.
After I cleared everything I finally realized what the murmuring obol things are for and got ton of legendaries including a 2h that also makes Pulverize an earth move as well that basically gives you a landslide-like effect on top of it. At that point with basically triple-pulverize that hits the screen and also makes a brief area dot, I could fricking faceroll clown on anything without even thinking about it and was finally thinking I'd stabilized and found a good build.. and the beta ends. I had a good time honestly and liked that the game was actually-hard for me for strongholds and thought "hey, I need to actually think about this and come up with some strats, this is actually cool" such as figuring out I had to run in a circle around the vampire guy to avoid the blood drop spam etc. Compared to D3 I like 4 a lot lot more, D3 was a literal fricking joke when it released, this is much better already.
>HEY GOYIM TALK ABOUT OUR HORRIBLE PLASTIC CASHGRAB GAME RIGHT NOW OKAY????
frick off israelite nobody likes your soulless trash
evil cannot create it can only subvert and destroy
I played the full beta with a druid, tried may builds (poison werewolf, landslide werebear, aftershock storm build ) and yes it was fun, during the last 2-3h of the beta I started a sorceress, omfg it's either fricking OP or the druid damage output is complete shit.
I used shred on single-target vs pulverize because it's more efficient + heals you although generally pulverize spam was more efficient for groups and it was rare I actually had to shred a lot (dungeon bosses and strongholds basically).
>just build around legendaries bro
So it really did just turn out to be D3 again except aspects instead of sets this time? It looks better but feels so much worse to play than D3... I don't want my builds to be determined by whether or not Blizzard decided to make a legendary to support a skill again. Blizzard shouldve put half of these effects in the boring as frick skill tree...
I feel like they overdid it and made the base skill trees very boring on purpose to please retro D2 fanboys.
I have simultaneously been called a D2 boomer and anti D2 at the same time. Amazing. Anyway, I like D2 but I don't need another D2. I just think the skill trees in D4 are boring and every single actually interesting choice was shoved off to a legendary aspect for some reason completely unknown to me and I personally don't like that. A much larger portion of your power should come from leveling and the skill tree alone especially with the awful scaling in place.
I havent seen one video using the werewolf builder and spender as a leveling build - it was easy as hell. Everyones just mindlessly using the bear overpower ability with no item support.
>701hp >45-50 res >standing around to fight a Convinction elite
You were literally asking for it. Should have shopped for high hp belt, farm runes for cheap all res runewords, pump your vitality up. Those are things even softcore characters do, let alone hardcore gays.
>go rogue >dashing around is fun but damage is fricking abysmal >barely beating bosses
>hear of twisting blades/shadow imbuement build >basically cast explosion on everything everywhere >hordes become subject to carpet bombing >bosses melt and are no longer a problem
And I didn't even get the item enchantment that buffs twisting blades. This shit is ridiculous and I pray that blizzard does not nerf this on release. I really enjoy this level of chaos, might have to buy if they keep it in.
on single target the infinite energy identity trait is broken, it refills almost instantly in one spender. Rapid fire is also pretty broken against bosses with imbues, one volley with ice one shots that anica final boss.
D1 >left click auto attack , repeat forever >im walking, im walkingg..... look at me walk guyss.... >use whatever spell if you have int for it. >game difficulty spikes up a bit and becomes easy again when you get arcanes armor >easy to die if you dont have enough pots. early game you need to ration pots and scrolls. >some enemies permanently lower stats >you can buy elixirs that permanently raise them so it balances out? >friendly fire in multiplayer >can pvp at any time >drop all your gold on death >game is dark and has boobies
D2 >auto attack playstyle mostly gone. many more skills, they ae class specific >can run now >enemies can still be dangerous. thorns type abilities can surprise 1 shot you, shamans flame thrower spells kill in 1-2 seconds, inb4 paladin/sorc chimes in and says "game didnt have dangerous enemies lol" >no friendly fire >cant pvp any time >lose some gold on death >game is dark and has boobies
D3 >BRO IT LOOKS JUST LIKE WOW YOU LIKE WOW RIGHT? >BRO THE WISE OLD MAN OF GAEM IS DED BECAUSE BUTTERFLY MAGIC !!LOL!! BET U DIDNT SEE THAT ONE COMIN >BRO YOU HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR 2 MINUTES, TIME FOR ANOTHER IN GAME CUTSCENE LOL >BRO WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS TOO EASY AND ENEMIES DEAL NO DAMAGE? ITS ONLY THE NIGHTMARE MODE, THE GAME PICKS UP IN HELL BRO >BRO LOOK THE GAME HAS PONIES LOL! YOU LIKE MY LITTLE PONY RIGHT? >BRO WHO CARES ABOUT ITEMIZATION? THE GAME IS ABOUT CLICKING AND LOOT! NOT ITEMS, WAIT-
D4 >game has less skills than D2 but better talent tree design overall >some enemies can be dangerous (if you didnt pick sorc) >itemization is worse than D2 better than D3 >cute necro girl. Karen tier barb girl is looking to talk to hells manager. Druid girl ate her weight watcher coach. >story elements almost as frequent and annoying as D3 but much better overall. >dungeon mini tasks are tedious and unfun busywork >too much talking and menial work, not enough just fighting.
Thats it so far. If your opinion differs it is wrong.
>go rogue >dashing around is fun but damage is fricking abysmal >barely beating bosses
>hear of twisting blades/shadow imbuement build >basically cast explosion on everything everywhere >hordes become subject to carpet bombing >bosses melt and are no longer a problem

i did similar with the piercing arrow. felt poe like
They have the rolling meatball, it's just not spicy anymore.
Wish that you could make it that way using one of the talent upgrades for it or a legendary effect but oh well.
The class has very little synergies with most of its skills and passives, combined with your legendary effects basically being what your skills should often be as a baseline make it pain.
Probably one of those that stacks resource regeneration with aspect that increases damage for every fury generated over your cap. Still 300k sounds like an extreme case where someone waited to deal that one specific crit, and then damage dropped to regular levels.
>Still 300k sounds like an extreme case where someone waited to deal that one specific crit, and then damage dropped to regular levels.
It's the classic DPS (damage per screenshot) builds that pop up in any game. Retry 100 times until you get that perfect overpower lucky hit super boosted crit hit of 200 morbillion dmg and there you go, the class is amazing, with screenshots to prove it.
If it's Whirlwind, yeah, I saw it, like I said stacking all the shouts and regeneration to do its thing. Still impressive, saw it deal like 3-4 k crits regularly, which is more than enough to trivialize any content in the beta, but it's the first time I heard a 300k claim. Extreme lucky case definitely.
I had hoped that Blizzard would take this shit ass whirlwind billed out of D4.
I fricking hate playing with whirlwind barbs that want to just rush through the dungeons as fast as possible spinning like gays leaving everyone behind.
>just rush through the dungeons as fast as possible
Dude, that's every class. That's how you play those games, and that's why you want to play it solo so you are on your own pace.
>as fast as possible
Is there any reason not to? Especially with level scaling.
I spent almost entire ending part of the act just running away from mob packs.
Wtf are you talking about. If anything whirlwind barbs should play solo as they get more grift keys with their follower with that set that makes more grift keys drop from the guardians.
You don't get those extra drops playing in a group.
If it was about farming keys and whatever else Barb's should play solo speeding through like gays to their hearts content.

what keys
since when does d4 have keys

There were some keys that you could buy with purple points (they were below the weapons) and they were used to open specific chests, but not entirely sure anon is talking about them.

pretty sure he's talking about D3 (grifts)

Now you talk about D3? Doesn't matter, every class has some sort of speedrun build, right now in D3 Demon Hunters are probably the fastest, and Tal Rasha Wizards can be fast with highest grift level of any class, because meteors destroy everything and you don't lose much speed compared to other classes even if you are 10-15 grift levels ahead of them.

Not every character should be speedy. You want to play heavier melee characters that is the sacrifice. I don't care if they buff them to hit harder they shouldn't be speeding around the map like nothing as well.

Sorry buddy, it's Diablo, not DnD. If you want to play a slow ass warrior for flavor, good for you, but those games are mostly based around builds that can clear content fast.

>try sorcerer >don't even remember what I built into >was nuking everything in sight >and my mana just fricking regenerates lmao
Barb fricking sucked too. Sorcerer is a walking war crime and Rogue is a step behind her.
steer clear of anyone posting any opinions about the strength of classes based on a level 25 act i beta unless they atleast have the decency to do some napkin math
casters scale with levels/skill ranks and melee scale with gear, welcome to rpgs
>casters scale with levels/skill ranks and melee scale with gear
get with the times grandpa, all skills are spells are the same, and weapons are just stat sticks.
It's because Barb can equip 4 weapon sets, letting them abuse more legendary aspects.
Barb scaling more from gear due to their arsenal mechanic is irrelevant, melee and casters scale the same way in D4.
This isn't D2 or PoE where spells scale solely on skill level, D3/D4 is all about your weapon dps, adding skill levels in D4 just improves the damage scaling (around 10% per level).
So there's functionally no difference between how melee or weapon attacks and magic spells scale in this game.
>Is that why a well geared barb was by far the strongest class in the beta?
Why would you just blatantly lie like that? If you played the beta you would KNOW that isn't true. But for some reason you're saying it anyway.
It's pretty weak and needs legendaries to be on par with other classes (without legendaries). Tornado is prolly the best skill w/o legendaries but sort of annoying to play without the seeking legendary. Pulverize is a joke of skill until you get the shockwave legendary that also increases it's damage by some ridiculous amount, I think mine had +250%. If some of these key legendaries are rewards from early accessible dungeons (say in acts 1 and 2), I don't think Druid will be that bad for leveling (assuming it would launch in its current state).
crit is crit
overpower is crit
crowd control is anything that controls the crowd
idk what lucky hit is, seemed like a way to have proc effects scale with gear rather than just being a flat %
>critical strike
someas in any other arpg >lucky hit
critical strike 2, only applies to effects that specifially state lucky hit, each skill has a lucky hit coefficient (so multi-hit skills aren't inherently superior) >overpower
critical strike 3, instead of critical damage, it deals bonus damage based on your life+fortify. >crowd control
same as in any other arpg
they wanted to separate "hard" CC from "soft" CC, but as with many other things, did a piss poor job of communicating it.
D3 had the same iirc with its CC resistance system.
Just get some dudes together and play through the first two games for the atmosphere and nostalgia once or twice a year.
It's the only way to enjoy these games without going full moron.
Not really, but you need the right legendary aspects to make him work and that's where my problem with scaling mobs comes from because if you don't get the right drops you will just feel weaker while you level up. They really need to rethink how the aspects works.
every aspect has a corresponding dungeon and aspects you earn through dungeons are shared between characters on the same realm so it shouldn't be a problem
>every aspect has a corresponding dungeon and aspects you earn through dungeons are shared between characters on the same realm so it shouldn't be a problem
Some of the aspects are only in later dungeons, the point is if you don't get the right aspects you are forced to play builds around the aspect you get.
but randomly getting 300% dmg multiplier uniques or sets is perfectly valid game design shut the frick up moron b***h

>remove all good interesting items just give me stat sticks reeeeeee muh rng
why are you even in this thread since you clearly hate the entire genre
There shouldn't be any skill or class specific aspects, only ones tied to damage type or maybe skill type (basic vs spender, single target vs AoE). Aspects that can be used by multiple classes, and some builds end up getting more mileage from one aspect than others, but something that fits a cold sorc like a glove isn't automatically completely useless for cold druid. No single aspect should ever provide more than like 20-25% increased damage or reduction on its own.
every aspect has a corresponding dungeon and aspects you earn through dungeons are shared between characters on the same realm so it shouldn't be a problem
not all of them, some of the better aspects are drop only. they will also no doubt add new legendaries with every season and they won't be adding new dungeons for all of them
Decided to try this game as I’ve never played any Diablo an I was born in 91’. I go on twitch to see what actual ARPG players feel an I find this guy. Mans is a hell of an entertainer. Also my entire weekend was consumed by this BETA. I absolutely loved it since I wasn’t wearing rose tinted glasses like the vets who could immediately recognize things. I will be consumed once more on release, I’m already missing this game.
Going full werebear or werewolf build sucks ass because the attributes are distributed equally. You can't deal enough damage if you cant put your points on STR. It will literally be like diablo 3
Yes, compared to rogue or sorc it's complete fricking dogshit. But then again, so is barbarian. But Druid is just unashamedly bad. And it's not bad in a sense where tuning can fix it. The class would need a fundamental redesign in order to be even remotely playable by anyone who's not a complete lorelet and actually gives a shit about endgame. Unfortunately, we're well past the point where a redesign is possible so we're unfortunately stuck with this piece of shit sorry excuse for a class. Glad I didn't buy this heaping pile of dogshit.
I don't really like this game design Diablo has now where it's not viable only using the skills that's available to you without some legendaries that change completely how the abilities work/scales them up so massively they suddenly do 5 times the damage of the original attack.
What the frick are you supposed to do if you can't find a viable one? Just suffer for half the game?
basically yeah
this is their attempt at getting away from tier sets but its absolutely garbage design
uniques should apply to multiple skills, not just one
I feel like it's very close to set items in diablo 3, which were mandatory to get anywhere in the endgame. Even though they tried to fix it with that legendary ability that 100% the damage you made with every other non-set you wore.
Diablo 2 seemed a lot more straightforward in game design.
Yea but d3 homosexuals are used to this in d2 most of your dmg will come from skill points. In d4 most of the dmg will come from legendary aspects.
Maybe I'm just old and more comfortable with the older way. I remember that it felt silly playing D3 when you suddenly started doing 800 000 000 in crit damage to enemies and they still didn't die.
As soon as I got the legendary that made me regen HP themore monsters are around pulverise picked up. The hardest challenge is constantly staring above 80% hp. The rest was easily disable with just rares and talent points.
if that aspect is max roll, does that mean you get 80% added on top of existing crit chance after 4 seconds of ww? that's what the + symbol means right? you automatically get close to 100% crit with one leggo? shit is bonkers
Im confused. How much damage does a crit do? It seems like 2.5x is the maximum you can roll. So if hes doing 250% 80% of the time. Hes still hitting for 100k without a crit. How is he doing that?
the twist with the villagers trying to kill you was good. Other than that nothing was good. The vigo dialogue in the end was pretty nice but I hated that it made me feel something because it's so clearly a virtual character and situation created out of thin air.
Zero effort storytelling. Why not have Vigo insist on following you around for a while and he actually does? Why not tell us why we should care about Vigo beyond "he's a traitor and now you should care because he totally died hardcore". Does he have a family? Nothing? He just exists in NPC world?
Whoever writes their worthless lore and quests is dead inside
they also made a classic mistake in storytelling: Not offering any stakes. Why is Lilith doing anything? Why care that Lilith kills a random church? Every writer in history knows that you need some kind of hook, an event or a reason to chase after lilith. The classic would be that you're trying to ask Lilith for a cure or kill her to hope that it cures you. Something, ANYTHING to justify running around after Lilith. The demon blood literally doesnt seem to even do anything to the player.
that's not a stake, that's like saying that there are poor people in the world or there are criminals. Is that something we have to be personally concerned about for story reasons? The answer is no. It's just world background lore
Why is this the player's problem? There's countless demons walking around and he's not going out of his way to go after them either. There's churches and shit whose business it is to deal with that. Leave it to them.

First of all - Lilith's blood.
Second of all, this can be said about every single Diablo protagonist. Because why is my D2 sorceress even IN the Rogue camp?
Anonymous
why shouldnt there be one more sorceress survivor from the attacks in the camp? This is no issue at all. And the D2 story develops naturally, in the beginning you're simply asked to take care of a local problem on the graveyard, some demon lady infested the place.
It doesnt start with "hey bro, go chase after Diablo right now, go get him lmao. Here you go, within 2h you're inside a secret black horadrim mega temple"

>why shouldnt there be one more sorceress survivor from the attacks in the camp?
Because the order of those particular sorceresses the PC is a part of is on the other side of the continent.

further than that, the Sorcerers are on the far side of ANOTHER Continent.
yes and the way that this NPC mary sue feels no fear when running after Lilith with you makes the whole thing seem like a joke. Not even the inhabitants of this virtual world are scared of Lilith, then why on earth would you be concerned? she's just going to be another NPC mob to kill.
They should have made her absolutely SCARED to death to follow Lilith and your player character should be urging her to help you because you need her for whatever reason and all you care is killing the demon so you convince this little girl to come along.
Then killing the girl off in the end will actually feel like it is your fault.
>Not even the inhabitants of this virtual world are scared of Lilith, then why on earth would you be concerned?
To be fair, that's how inhabitants of this world operate it seems. In D1 nobody cares about Diablo beneath the cathedral, in D2, Rogues are just slightly annoyed about Andariel l, nobody cares about Meph chilling in the Temple of Zakarum and outside of Marius nobody really was freaking out about the Dark Wanderer. I guess only in Act 5, the barbs take Baal seriously. And D3 is D3.
but wasn't that because they didn't know that Diablo was actually there? that the "lord of terror returned"? I dont think the lore was that they knew for sure. The whole story was always cool because they feared that there is some unspecified kind of corruption or evil coming or lurking.
In D4 Lilith is out and about in broad daylight, killing a random church and then walking to have conversations with people.
Its all gonna go down to >barb whirlwinding through endgame >sorc glasscannon through endgame >necro minion carrying through endgame >druid constantly dying through endgame
minions are trash corpse explosion is just blantantly broken. every skill just spawns a pile of corpses. and bosses for some reason when they attack also spawn corpses. CE has no cooldown, no resource cost, in fact with 1 skill point it actually BUILDS RESOURCE per explosion and hits harder than all of my other spells. The damage is further added when the enemy has any debuff, which stack.
I've never had more actual gameplay fun in an ARPG than I've had when I played Monk in D3. Yes, the RPG systems of that game are barebones, but the actual moment to moment gameplay feel is the best in the genre. Different people value that differently, but for me it's pretty important. POE's might be 1 billion times deeper in the RPG sense, but when my gameplay is literally a mobile game where I run forward, spam 1 damage skill and 1 movement skill on cooldown, for hundreds of hours, I'd rather play a shallower game that is actually fun to play.
I just want my monk homie back in D4. It was so good. If they add more complexity to RPG elements, even better
So there is no rng in maps (always same main map)? Also too much cutscenes. Classes are meh tbqh (dh, wd or monk felt fresher). Loot boring af. >70 $
Lilith is aight, but that's about it.
I'm sure it's not as good as other classes, but I enjoyed a build with aoe melee lightning, the channeled thunderstorm, and the werewolf howl species to regen spirit.
I had fun with a lightning build and a werebear build. Earth, wind, and werewolf seemed underpowered.
Earth Wind and Werewolf is my favorite R&B group
>do you remember
>it was the 31st night of October
Hard to say his cool stuff apparently are unlocked in later levels that the beta didn't had avaiable
we only got act 1 and didn't see the full potential of any class, but druid definitely starts off slow in the beta
>I want Diablo 4 addons
Fraud
Why would you willingly want to play a bad game?
I don't, thats why I refunded. Now smash that like button and make sure to subscribe for more great content.
Good game on my pc
Where's my paladin wtf
>No Paladin
>No Monk
>Rogue is an extremely boring version of assassin without any of the cool shit
Blizzard has turned disappointing sequels into an art form
>Rogue is an extremely boring version of assassin without any of the cool shit
I feel like they kinda just took the blander abilities from Assassin and Demon Hunter to make the Rogue.
Imagine if we got the best of both worlds instead of the worst.
God damn it people
The church is overzealous out of caution and it makes IRL Christcucks seethe.
don't worry they just wanted to set a depressing and grimdark setting at launch.
I GUARANTEE you all the archetypes from D2 will be playable.
In the first hero DLC/patch or whatever they'll drop a Crusader/Paladin archetype.
That pretty much covers every single role from D2.
DLC? Patch? Naw homie, you're paying at least $50 for an expansion before you get more classes.
D3 is a standard demons shit things up story, the presentation was ass though.
>tyrael is now tyrone
>lord of lie doesnt lie
>azmodan cant stop streaming his webcam
>troony diablo with boobs and heels
Did you actually play Act 1's story in the beta?
>You chase Lilith the entire time but she doesnt actually do anything directly bad outside of maybe letting some zealot villagers off their leash a little too quickly, everything bad they did they do out of their own free will
>She didn't even kill Rathma, Innarius did, she mourned him and would have offered him a place on her side even if he didn't wanna pick a side
Part of me is still suspicious its a bait and switch. Like of course if the twist final boss is Diablo, Innarrius or zombie deckard cain or something it's not gonna be listed as a trophy
She doesn't like priest's or the church. She sees them as poisonous to her children (Humans) and making them feel ashamed to be themselves, and tilting them towards extremist beliefs and furthering the conflict between heaven and hell by making humans think
>Angels - good
>Demons - bad
When angels wanted to vote to nuke them out of existence to begin with. You can even see in the church cutscene the priest is properly shaming the villagers attending the service and her speech is literally
>just b urself kids
>but then Lilith never personally slights you in Act 1
You are fed her petals before you even meet her, so I wouldn't be surprised if you don't end up playing some greater role in her plan later on. Remember you're the only person that sees her in all the visions. I'm pretty sure its a both sides are evil shtick based off all the dialogue from the Hermit as well.
The trophies for the game has been leaked already and killing Lilith as the last boss is on there, Innarius isn't.
Whatever your thoughts about the main story is it won't change the fact that we are going to be killing Lilith at the end of the game regardless, not Innarius.
Huge twist, diablo is actually the good guy all along
It will be a bait and switch anon
The dog will enter the scene, cackle, then siphon some Lilith energy with «it was I, Diablo all along!» and she’ll be shown good
>and she’ll be shown good
No. She's already been shown as being bad already, with her having people sacrifice other innocent people to her for their blood.
At most it will be sympathetic evil, but still evil.
I played up to the point where Lilith appears and makes everyone murder the priest in the cutscene before you're supposed to leave the village. She's been straight up evil the whole time they've shown her so far
Imagine living your life through a pol lense so much you can’t even properly comprehend a story
Ironic considering you couldn’t pick up on what the story was plainly telling you. homosexuals who cry pol are always the biggest morons aren’t they
>a-aren't th-they, guys?
>a-am i r-right or am i-i right? heh
>Innarius did
you sure?
It's definitely implied in the flashback things with Inarius becoming angry with Rathma when he wouldn't hand over the Key...but I could see it all be subterfuge to make Lilith think that Inarius is the culprit.
>the flashback things are a Lilith plant
I don't think Blizz can be that nuanced
he also says in your meeting with him that the things we seek are rarely the things we need. and he apparently wanted the key to hell but then left it behind
seems like Lilith is being set up and enticed back to hell
Beyond it being implied, Lorath's monologue at the end of the beta campaign outright says that Inarius killed Rathma. It could be possible that Lorath is just an unreliable narrator here, but I think that's asking for too much thought from Actiblizz.
So the classic "I'm actually le good" villain?
if you’re stupid and have the critical thinking of a 6 year old sure
Well as you imply that you are not stupid and have critical thinking of at least 7 year old, you will have no problems supporting your point
she convinces people to beat a priest to death because he suggested they should stop sinning
>Act 1
I'll see you dead for this, Lilith. For Vhenard and all the others who got caught between you and your mad quest for power!
>Act 5
Darlin', I...
underrated kerrigan posting
the ui is the weakest part of the game
Well, according to all the cheevos, you DO kill Lilith in the end.
Nah it's a "woman power" moment. Lillith being a "morally grey" villain like Sylvanas and Jaina and Tyrande really just seals the deal that even Diablo is infested with the women and trans menace at blizzard.
Lillith isn't morally grey.
She is outright evil. But in the Papa Nurgle kind of evil, where she loves her children (humankind) and wants them to indulge in sin.
a real demon wouldnt be like that either, it would pretend to care and in its dark rotten heart HATE humans more than anything, wanting to distort and corrupt and kill them all off so they all land in hell and get eternally tortured.
These moron atheist numale devs cant even get anything right
Lillith likes humankinds because sanctuary and by extension humans are literally her creation
She likes them in a way a kid with a looking glass likes ants. For her, they are useful tools she can use to get back at Inarius and her dad.
I understand that this is nu-blizzard lore but they really need to soft-retconn this shit and make her ultimate goal the destruction of humanity and that her masterplan was always to kill Inarius and kill all the humans to idk, gather enery/power to make her big dawg in hell.
It's like these shit writers never watchd a single cool supernatural movie or tv show.
this is not Nu-Blizzard Lore, the Sin Wars are a series of books that came out forever ago, and most of this was carved out shortly after fricking D1 came out.
Thank you, anon.
I was starting to think i've been the only one that read Sin Wars.
you are moronic and you think you know that this is a retcon, when this has always been the case, Lilith and Inarius making Sanctuary with the Worldstone has ALWAYS been the backstory, and their children were humanity.
Lilith has always viewed Humanity as her children, who yes, she wants to use to stop the Great Conflict, but has no desire for Hell or Heaven to win it, she wants to rule over humanity after Humanity defeats both.
she created humanity, so she's a bit different.
>All of a sudden "the light" is also evil?
>All of a sudden
Angels have been buttholes in the games (not counting novels) since D3 at least, with Imperius talking about exterminating humanity and Malthael actually going through with it
Tha's moronic. Diablo 2 had religion bad with Mephisto and they still managed to have a Paladin.
Then why the frick are there necromancers, who are the biggest religious autists in existence, so supremely devout that they are completely incorruptible?
Christian religion bad
Emo religion good
Submitting to uncaring, unwavering all powerful light deities that see you as pawns bad
Its going to center around the theme of Rathma being right about everything.
they are clearly coming in a dlc/expansion/update, frick off /misc/tard
>No paladin no monk because the base game story is "Religion bad
default Ganker NPC eager to comment on shit they haven't played
>I'm not going to play shit
you are shit.
>base game story is "Religion bad"
Ah, so israelites wrote it, got it.
It's more like what
said, not so much as "religion bad" but "fanaticism bad". There are plenty of religious NPCs that are obviously good but still disagree with how the church is doing some stuff at this point, like the exorcist woman for example. Also kinda irrelevant but damn me, Vigo's death kinda got to me even though it was obviously coming
Vigo's death
Yeah I was surprised by how brutal it was to be honest. Yeah he fricked up but I don't think he deserved that level of punishment.
I wouldn't have minded if it didn't happen that early but agreed, it was quite brutal, didn't think they had it in them after D3
>didn't think they had it in them after D3
Why? Stop being an NPC b***h using this game as a scapegoat.
>Why?
Cause D3 was a Saturday morning cartoon when compared to either D2 or D4 (so far at least, I'm ready to eat my words if they frick this up later on) and I'm not talking just about the artstyle.
>Saturday morning cartoon
Man I love these things haha. SCOOBY DOO WHERE ARE YOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUU!!?!?!? .....your powers align....I am Captain Planet!!!
What was the problem again?
No problem with such an artstyle, I quite enjoyed both Torchlight games after all, just not what I'd expect out of a Diablo game.
Friggin sweet. Guess i'm allowed to like the game then. Thanks anon.
Who said you weren't?
>Everything has to be grim dark because it makes me feel like a grown adult instead of a man child neck beard.
You do know what the name of the game is right?
Like as in just the actual name on the box?
I think I prefer Diablo 3's cartoon story over what I've seen so far in Diablo 4. It's nothing but long ass cutscenes and dialogue with npcs that amounts to "hurr demons are here and killing everyone and lilith is possessing and massacring people... but inarius and zakharum are just as bad because their priests are grumpy". Also moron npcs constantly seeing dead bodies next to demon goat men and wondering out loud "Who could have killed them??"
D3 doesnt have a story. All that happened is that Leah is Diablo and you find that out in the last act. That's it. That's not a story.
That's still more preferable than stopping every 5 minutes to exhaust meaningless dialogue options.
agreed the cutscenes are annoying af and boring
felt like skipping half since they add nothing
lillith also seems like a meme villain already
ahh le petals lady appearing in every second RP sequence
dont they know villains are more scary when they're not shown
>the base game story is "Religion bad"
It's not.
>No paladin no monk because the base game story is "Religion bad".
Until the DLC is needed then Religion is kinda alright I guess.
>kill inarius in act 4
>introduce paladin in dlc for $35
who's the bad guy even, diablo or lilith
c'mon you can't take a boss from act 1 and say she's a big bad now
Lilith. I wouldn't be surprised if Diablo was sitting this one out.
>Act 1
Huh? You aren't mistaking her for Andariel?
Nah Blizzard is just being racists because Paladins are black people in Diablo world and they don't want black people.
>No paladin/Crusader
>No Monk
>No Witch Doctor
>No Amazon.
I want my fricking WD back god damn it.
rogue has some of the bowazon stuff
That will be $70 plus tip 12 months from now, sir.
i hate diablo 3 but i miss my homie witch doctor. way cooler archetype than necromancer.
Maybe if they went more of a Baron Samedi type, instead of a WoW troony shaman.
>i hate diablo 3
Good thing you provide this context. You wouldn't have fit in otherwise. Black person.
Good thing you added Black person at the end or else no one would know you are truly an original channer.
>i hate diablo 3 but i miss my homie witch doctor. way cooler archetype than necromancer.
I was pissed when they didn't have Necro in D3, and instead had this stupid Ooga Booga Witch Doctor shitter.
But then it actually became one of my all-time favorite classes...now I wish they gave us Witch Doctor instead of Necro in D4.
They definitely had some fun builds, like the one where you summon spirits and the spirits just multiply on death to every nearby enemy.
WD is probably gone forever. maybe they'll make a few Necro legs that make some spells resemble WD spells, but we'll never get more than that.
F
Funny, isn't it? The class that's actually based on some cool black magic user stereotype... forbidden! To never be used again! Oh but don't worry, you can make everyone else black so it's aaaaalright.
>WD is probably gone forever.
>black magic user stereotype... forbidden!
Act 3 in D2 was nothing but Witch Doctor shit.
I wonder if the Chinese will get the D4 Khangz character screen or if that will be "fixed".
i don't think chinkoids are getting D4 at all since Blizzard isn't allowed in China anymore last time I checked
You guys do realize that part of D4 takes part in Kehjistan?
>did WD get soft canceled at some point?
they just have a lot of stuff going against them
>very similar to Necro, and the Diablo fanbase has made it clear that many of them want Necro in all future games.
>China doesn't like them because they're nigs
>coomers don't give a frick about them
All due to character customization. Cant have a white WD. RIP you will be missed
Frick you.
You're going get Antipaladin in the expansion and you're going to like it!
death knight?
i killed this moron too
he dropped me a level 27 ammy i cant equip
Only if it's like this
It's definitely in the game and I'm not sure why people aren't talking about it. In the mines Vigo uses a wall of light spell which is obviously some kind of holy thing. It's got the exact same colour and design as his bubble in the act 1 boss
Considering that you can beat the beta "hard" mode with Sorc/Necro by leaving your character and going out of your house the druid can be considered bad because you need to click sometimes from time to time
What games have fun druid classes?
baldur's gate. druids get cool unique spells
Was hitting some 2k+ crits...which isn't really shit compared to the busted shit I've seen, but my gear and build wasn't upgraded or optimized and I had fun.
nice I had the shockwave legendary but never got the earth skill one you mention.
No the game is
No. People are moronic. They made fun of Barbarian and look at how good it is now.
Being an earth bender was fun
Yea I'm sure pressing the same 3 earth abilities for 1000 hours will be insanely fun.
You just named D2 gameplay and people have been crying for that.
Really? what's wrong with Diablo players?
nothing, they're just boomers.
Even PoE focuses on a select few buttons, I'd say it's really hard to balance a game the more buttons it has, and yet even then like PoE it will still funnel people to revolve their buttons around a select few.
I played D2 when I was young and I'm glad I wasn't scarred for life like these guys.
Most games aren't as primitive as these, all you're doing is traversing a flat maze and grinding using a couple of instant cast AOEs, doing it for thousands of hours is more akin to mental illness or gambling addiction.
>he says, furiously smashing the A button
I mean, sometimes I do
>This guy just named a class that has more variety than most d2 builds
KEK
shapeshifting into a bear didn't have much going for it. I felt like I was mostly M1ing things.
That does sound pretty awesome.
This or the aftershock one for earth build! shit was crazy.
Play Druid in D2 and see for yourself.
druids were always trash, no point in playing any class but a sorc
gay
>t. druid
Don't you have some trees to talk to?
>Have ranged spell
>Have to cast it in melee or else it will miss
>Misses half the time even then
wow this is fun
it's fairly unpleasant
You're doing twice the damage of my barb on that fight. Probably three times.
i tried playing the barb in the beta and it was truly hard mode, the class balance is really fricked up
i played Barb to 25, it starts off really slow, but after about lvl 15 or so, he's actually pretty good.
Had a Bleed/Shout build with a bit of thorns sprinkled in.
probably because i had a thing that makes landslide cast twice and another that makes you do more damage the longer you stand still.
it still took 3 times longer to hit level 25 than it did on necro/sorc.
>probably because i had a thing that makes landslide cast twice and another that makes you do more damage the longer you stand still.
This is a classic build blunder. You valued synergies between shitty skills, rather than just using good skills and making those even better.
barb was completely fricked. I had to do some autistic bleed, thorn, rend build to even have a chance against most dungeon bosses.
And i did it all with lunging strike, rend, challenging shout, rupture, death blow and call of the ancients so didn't even have charge/leap.
>druid
Deserved furball.
Is this really that earth build that has been pushed around as the best? People really need to bother trying stuff around themselves because my frankenbuild did significantly better than that.
no, i just asked what i should play to suffer the most on hardcore and some anons said an earth druid so that's what i did.
there's a good earth build?
Someone posted a video in a thread yesterday and it discussed a good build for druid based around earth talents. I assumed you were using it.
Ever since like 2016 the shit people push a "meta" is almost always awful.
The stats popping up and all bubbly makes it feel very low class, like some chink mmo. Looks like it has weak atmosphere.
Turn them off then.
Imo if you went straight with the nature abilities it feels more shaman than druid. I know druid in Diablo 2 had elemental spells but I wish there was more to the abilities than what we got in Diablo 4.
>HE does not have aftershock
ngmi
I think it took me about 10 minutes to kill this guy with a werewolf build. It was extremely painful.
4 u
OH NO NO NO
pls
>using the shitty Boulder
>using the shitty Earth Basic
>actually using the good Core skill, but isn't using the Teramote passive that makes it OP with guaranteed crits that deal 40% More Crit Damage
Legit L2P moment.
i assure you it was mostly intentional
also i did have the teramote thing
>Right clicks the boss a couple times with Rogue's arrow Barrage.
>Boss is dead.
I really enjoyed Barb and Druid but they are complete garbage. Even Necro is dull when he almost permanently loses a skill slot.
It's two slots if you count the golem buff/taunt ability.
That said the skeletons got absolutely buttfricked by the world boss so I have a feeling they'll be next to useless and most Necros will just run the passives you get from not having any minions out.
>playing online only goyslop
I liked the weird werebear tank build I used. Probably not as fast clearing as other classes but still not slow and I was virtually unkillable.
fat man is a furry, just like in ffxiv
Big true.
No he looks like English football fan.
he looks like fricking gilgamesh. its cool.
why does everyone hate the character creator in this game? you can look like an ancient babylonian king or a mongolian warlord. what the frick is not to like here, exactly? much better than the dyel irish moron druid from diablo 2
I'm just mad I can't make a big tiddie goth necro gf.
Flat is best
I made my druid look like bloatlord.
Funny you say that my first thought when I saw the Druid was to make a Sampson character. Too bad the customization options are garbage.
esfand
I fapped to my naked Rogue (male) before the servers went down and I regret nothing. That is all
Did anyone here play a Druid in older games like WoW?
I really like druid in Pathfinder 1st edition
nah. was too fricking boring to just look at the animal form all the time.
I never liked shapeshift as a mechanic.
>you can turn into a bear!
Okay I'd play a dedicated warrior
>you can turn into a rat or some shit
Okay I'd play a dedicated rogue
>you can just be a shitty caster
Okay I'd play a dedicated caster
Somebody argued with me that shapeshifting isn't what druids are all about too. That's literally their key gimmick all the way back in D&D. Most of the time I just saw them used for some obscure, meta multiclassing shit where you don't actually play as a druid anyway.
Druid bros.. is it over for us?
>picking no beard removes your eyebrows
why didnt they fix this
Baldur's Gate 3 has one of my favorite druids now. God damn Thorin Whip is so good
Why are druids ugly fat people that look like they have problems moving around? This is bullshit.
>do nothing but eat berries and frick deerussie all day
>gain weight
they have a strongman build. wouldn't you think a magic strongman that wrestles bears for a living would look kinda wide and thick?
You can be strong and not fat
not bear wrestling strong, dyel.
Why would you need to look like a sumo wrestler if you could just transform into a fricking bear yourself?
Anyone have any idea about late-game stuff? I tried a couple of classes but I kinda liked my melee Rogue that spammed Vulnerabilty shit the most so I'll probably go with that no matter what but I kinda want to know what to expect.
How the frick would anyone know that when the beta only let us in the first zone?
Wasn't there also an endgame-focused beta or something at some point? Or do I remember wrong?
you're right, there was
Thought I was going crazy for a bit there.
All that fat is useful after all
Bro people are fricking moronic and just gobble up whatever the internet/ favorite youtuber says without question.
Rathma is that wolf, somehow, and he's playing everyone so that they take each other out while the humans end up winning
>Rathma is that wolf
My money is the wolf is Zoltun Kulle
Whatever happened to him? For some reason I barely remember anything about D3 even though I'd go through the campaign a couple of times a year
you kill him right after you resurrect him, and then his ghost came back to help you find Kanai's Cube in Adventure mode
Ah ok, thanks anon.
i have an intense feeling that the wolf IS diablo for some reason. idk why. anyone else got that feeling?
Nope. Sounds fricking stupid.
He is diablo, another poster posted his convo about tristram. I got the same vibe too.
"I like the way things used to be" gee how'd they used to be? With diablo fricking shit up every decade? Yeah it's him.
Why would Diablo disguise himself as a random wolf?
(chuckle)
yeah that's 100% zultan koolaid
it's mephisto, lilith's father
the wolf has mephisto's sigil on his skull
Also, druids have only 1 psuedo movement skill omitting werewolf shred and barely any extra move speed like +9% for werewolf so he's always waddling around.
>that rapid fire clicking
have you never played an arpg before anon
90% of those clicks are wasted and it will frick up your arm over time.
>and barely any extra move speed like +9% for werewolf so he's always waddling around
I thought this was really weird too given how fricking fast werewolf could get in D2 when spec'd right. 9% seems pretty low imo.
do druids have straight up invulnerability?
I posted that webm earlier and it's from earthen bulwark or whatever it was called which gives a barrier that gets hit before your life and I also had fortify which gives additional damage reduction. Also I spammed potions for his shadow blackberry clump attack because I had shit armor in general
no thats necros
Seemed pretty weak
Only played druid so hard to say, might be because of level scaling
It's pretty terrible.
Even if the damage wasn't so bad it's still really clunky. Animations are slow and awkwardly queue rather than cancelling into each other.
The animations not cancelling was the biggest issue, he's just so slow
I wanted to be able to instaheal with that one werewolf skill but my guy is still running through his absolutely slow animation to cast some earth skill
The window to accept a new command was really janky and it's not obvious when it is either
Only tried sorc, necro, and rogue can't comment on druid but it seems to be the weakest at the current version we played
>attack speed on basic skill
>heal/gain fort on shapeshift
>pulverize into earth skill
>+2 to earth skills while fortified
>earth skills slow
>near max roll shockwave on 2h
>+damage with barrier
>+damage based on fortify
these aspects together were amazing and i had no downtime, pulverize was up to rank 9 and the overpower waves were hitting 12k on the entire room by the end. being able to hit twice with one pulverize made it broken. wish i had the spirit boons to mess around with
>you just need a legendary in every single slot and it's fine bro
yes thats how endgame works kiddo, you didnt think you'd compete with blues did you? i dont give a frick if the class is boring or shit with no items because it literally does not matter
It does matter because the drops are 3x in the beta so youll be fricked on launch. And what happened to rares being as good as uniques in diablo?
>ill have to play the game slightly longer on higher difficulties to get items
oh no, its going to be another diablo game! every single item in my screenshot was a rare and made into a legendary
Are you trying to somehow convince that anon that he didn't have fun playing a game? I don't understand people like you.
He didnt have fun until he farmed an unnatural amount of gear for that level.
I don't think any of the classes were as weak as some stuff you can accidentally build yourself into in other ARPG games.
nobody using the "legendary drop rate was boosted" argument should be taken seriously
imprinting is satisfying and super ez to get the ball rolling.
As a hybrid, it has a slow start when it comes to class comparisons.
Yeah sure, but he was hot trash with little survivability compared to a sorcerer, so in the part of the game that everyone actually plays where legendary drops won't be gigainflated he's going to continue to be hot trash
>with little survivability compared to a sorcerer
man my experience with my druid was completely different at around 17-18 I was basically unkillable and I didn't even have all these bullshit uniques that people claim are necessary for it to work
my sorcerer survivability was good but mostly because I was running it with some meme cc build with blizzard, I actually died to that boss/event with the frost goatman that is immune to cc until I respecced into hydras
of all the classes barbarian was by far the worst
Your build isn't at all representative of what players could actually expect without hundreds or thousands of hours in the live game.
Players are over the idea of playing games that only get good after 100 hours. It needs to be fun and exciting (and builds mostly functional) from the very early, and playing a dogshit class for all of leveling isn't worth it.
fricking hell, this is literally mobile tier ui
>be homosexual treehugger
>be "one" with nature
>vegan
They suck
>vegan
No.
This demo has really made me want to play an ARPG
Just replay D2?
Honestly
Yes
D4 didn't seem very good, I'll probably skip it
>barbarian
sucks
>sorcerer
homosexual class
>rogue
reddit class
>druid
gay class
Is necromancer really the only half decent class?
except for the guy with the barb doing 57k single target
So you pick the most overpowered, braindead, easymode shitter class, cause your bad at the game and don't understand how to build the other classes correctly, got it, imagine that.
>sucks
I dunno, Alkaizer's barbarian looks great
They buffed it in the new beta.
It was weaker in the first beta.
Yes, and it will only get worse once the game releases. Barb is the one that isn't half as bad as people think. The scale really well at end game, at least in the closed beta, and they have some very overpowered Unique legendaries.
>Reworked ravens
0/10
did anyone try pure pet druid
This was extremely disappointing with Cyclone Armor, and it makes the +All Skills tag a lot less powerful.
you can have the wolfs be werewolves and have 3 of them, its good passive dmg
also you can get a lego that gives the werewolves one of your ultimate passives at the bottom (20 percent haste).
>The other big issue is that D4 doesn't let you receive the Passive Buffs from skills you don't have on your bar. This was extremely disappointing with Cyclone Armor, and it makes the +All Skills tag a lot less powerful.
The class is horrendous both in gameplay and visually
Diablo, ethereal lord of terror. Taking over the minds of Leoric and his son, driving them to the brink of insanity.......
But......what if he is the heckin pupper now??? LOL 😀
Isn't that Bloody Wolf Mephisto? Like, that's his sigil burned into his skull, isn't it?
Yeah, I also thought it might be Meph...I didn't catch the sigil but I thought maybe the Prime Evils might be interfering and the Lord of Lies would be the prime suspect.
Same voice actor as Zoltan Kulle.
ah, yeah I didn't play much d3.
Want a pat on the back homosexual?
My cope is that it's just a coincidence tbh.
Yeah because Diablo has such breadth of characters and all...........there's um.........uh..........uhhhh.........Deckard Cain.....and uh........
.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................Deckard Cai- oh wait he died. ROTFL
The followers from D3 are the only characters I ever gave a shit in Diablo. I hope my homie Kormac got laid.
It could be, I'm not %100 sold that it's Kulle or Diablo. My hope is that it's Belial or mephisto. It's pretty cool that we don't know for sure
Yeah, I think it's cool there are more players in this, even if it ends up being Diablo (he IS the titular character after all and that Tristram flashback was probably both foreshadowing and just fsnservice)
belial is such a nothing character it could be either extremely cool or lame depending on how they write him in D4 since he was so god damn lame in 3
Nope. It's very legendary hungry but with a full earth pulverise + landslide build I one shot elites just like I did on every other class (except the ones I didn't play)
did they release a blog on class changes or are we just hoping they buff druid/barbarian in these next 2 months
arpg fans are becoming spergs about tier lists again
nature is healing, bros
Cant wait until we get the paragon system which looks to be a return of the "stats" D2 players are crowing about.
Itemization and skill tree can still be either tweaked or fixed. It won't happen in 2 months but there's a real chance that the game will be excellent.
(We also haven't seen how aids the MTX will be so, whatever)
yep he sucks bear balls
Whats a good ARPG to play if I only played FATE as a kid?
>Bounced off Torchlight 2 early multiple times
>Bounced off Pillars of Eternity early (after getting out of fish cave) cause it being free to play gave me the feeling the pacing would be slow and I found the mage boring and generic.
Any that kinda surprise you in some way?
just play d2r
>FATE
My homie
Did someone say Subway?
All the classes are a mixed bag at the beginning. More than half the "main skill" options suck unless you get a legendary made specifically for it that doubles the damage and/or coverage. They're already doing what people dislike about D3's balance.
I love d2 and fricking hate 3
will I like 4?
>I think I have good taste but I don't. Am I allowed to like 4?
frick off
Depends on why you like/hate each game.
No.
Find the flame wall and the guardian spell tomes, then you're set.
Disregard this loser. Likely hasn't even touched D1 and goes along with whatever boomer narrative is strewn. NPC b***h.
Yes.
Disregard this
Black person.
>The voice acting has been kind of hit or miss but I think some of the campyness may be intended.
Makes me think of Tales from the Crypt.
>Is Diablo 2 much better than this?
D2 lost a bit of that but makes up for it with way more gameplay options
If you like putting 20 points into one skill and spamming that one skill over and over again in the end game then, yeah.
Are you fricking stupid? D2 is the progenitor of the entire "genre", every other game besides Diablo 1 is a bad ripoff
D2 gays don't want to move on. Any Diablo game that isn't an exact copy of D2 is shit to these morons. Frick runes/runewords, and frick D2 & POE.
>people
Thats where you're wrong
FAT moron GANG RISE UP
Everything in the game is dogshit and bad. Druid is just the worst of it.
Incorrect. Necromancer is fine.
Which makes sense when the lead developer has said it's his main class.
Does Diablo 2 need any QoL mods? Before anyone suggests it I don't want to play D2R.
Why the frick would you ask a bunch of contrarians. Go play the fricking game, homosexual and go from there.
Nah it feels fine normie gamers are just bad at vidya and need Journo mode classes like Necro
This genre is braindead journo inclusive. You wanna at least larp a hardcore gamer with your ebin loot games, go play Nioh or something.
Cause your dogshit at said genre
My dogshit genre what?
>Do betas 2 months before launch
>hype dies so fast that no one was even streaming the open beta in the last few days
isn't this kinda moronic, would it not been much better to rush the release and surprise everybody and move the launch to april 6 so people fomo
Maybe play and watch more of you gaymeslop and troony twitchers instead shitting up board with nu blizz crap?
That post-pulverise legendary gameplay is what the ranged classes have baseline.
Diablo 1 is now a lot better that I have leveled my magic a bit and got a really nice axe that gave some +magic.
Look for stone curse too. It'll save you from getting kited later on.
I didn't have time to try druid but my friend said it was fun and would play one again at release.
>OP or the druid damage output is complete shit.
It's this. I played all the classes and Druid has the lowest dps.
>ctrl-f "nado"
>no results
>ctrl-f "shred"
>no results
man none of ya'll played F&F huh?
I used shred on single-target vs pulverize because it's more efficient + heals you although generally pulverize spam was more efficient for groups and it was rare I actually had to shred a lot (dungeon bosses and strongholds basically).
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 2 MONTHS IS TOOO LONG OF A WAIT
I'm gonna 100% Torchlight 1 before then.
ngl the females in this game are pretty hot. Whenever I see one in town I give a lil emote to them.
torchlight 1 was pretty fun
i felt like ember lance was overpowered though
>just build around legendaries bro
So it really did just turn out to be D3 again except aspects instead of sets this time? It looks better but feels so much worse to play than D3... I don't want my builds to be determined by whether or not Blizzard decided to make a legendary to support a skill again. Blizzard shouldve put half of these effects in the boring as frick skill tree...
>If it's not like D2 it's bad
These D2 idiots needs to move on already.
I feel like they overdid it and made the base skill trees very boring on purpose to please retro D2 fanboys.
I havent seen one video using the werewolf builder and spender as a leveling build - it was easy as hell. Everyones just mindlessly using the bear overpower ability with no item support.
I just died. My bad for being careless and being satisfied with 45/50 cold res or whatever I had but still. That shit hurts.
RIP I'll try again in a few months
outskilled
>701hp
>45-50 res
>standing around to fight a Convinction elite
You were literally asking for it. Should have shopped for high hp belt, farm runes for cheap all res runewords, pump your vitality up. Those are things even softcore characters do, let alone hardcore gays.
>Cold Enchanted
>Conviction
>Only 700 hp on Hell
>In nova range as a necro
literally asked for it
>go rogue
>dashing around is fun but damage is fricking abysmal
>barely beating bosses
>hear of twisting blades/shadow imbuement build
>basically cast explosion on everything everywhere
>hordes become subject to carpet bombing
>bosses melt and are no longer a problem
And I didn't even get the item enchantment that buffs twisting blades. This shit is ridiculous and I pray that blizzard does not nerf this on release. I really enjoy this level of chaos, might have to buy if they keep it in.
on single target the infinite energy identity trait is broken, it refills almost instantly in one spender. Rapid fire is also pretty broken against bosses with imbues, one volley with ice one shots that anica final boss.
D1
>left click auto attack , repeat forever
>im walking, im walkingg..... look at me walk guyss....
>use whatever spell if you have int for it.
>game difficulty spikes up a bit and becomes easy again when you get arcanes armor
>easy to die if you dont have enough pots. early game you need to ration pots and scrolls.
>some enemies permanently lower stats
>you can buy elixirs that permanently raise them so it balances out?
>friendly fire in multiplayer
>can pvp at any time
>drop all your gold on death
>game is dark and has boobies
D2
>auto attack playstyle mostly gone. many more skills, they ae class specific
>can run now
>enemies can still be dangerous. thorns type abilities can surprise 1 shot you, shamans flame thrower spells kill in 1-2 seconds, inb4 paladin/sorc chimes in and says "game didnt have dangerous enemies lol"
>no friendly fire
>cant pvp any time
>lose some gold on death
>game is dark and has boobies
D3
>BRO IT LOOKS JUST LIKE WOW YOU LIKE WOW RIGHT?
>BRO THE WISE OLD MAN OF GAEM IS DED BECAUSE BUTTERFLY MAGIC !!LOL!! BET U DIDNT SEE THAT ONE COMIN
>BRO YOU HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR 2 MINUTES, TIME FOR ANOTHER IN GAME CUTSCENE LOL
>BRO WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS TOO EASY AND ENEMIES DEAL NO DAMAGE? ITS ONLY THE NIGHTMARE MODE, THE GAME PICKS UP IN HELL BRO
>BRO LOOK THE GAME HAS PONIES LOL! YOU LIKE MY LITTLE PONY RIGHT?
>BRO WHO CARES ABOUT ITEMIZATION? THE GAME IS ABOUT CLICKING AND LOOT! NOT ITEMS, WAIT-
D4
>game has less skills than D2 but better talent tree design overall
>some enemies can be dangerous (if you didnt pick sorc)
>itemization is worse than D2 better than D3
>cute necro girl. Karen tier barb girl is looking to talk to hells manager. Druid girl ate her weight watcher coach.
>story elements almost as frequent and annoying as D3 but much better overall.
>dungeon mini tasks are tedious and unfun busywork
>too much talking and menial work, not enough just fighting.
Thats it so far. If your opinion differs it is wrong.
pretty true
i did similar with the piercing arrow. felt poe like
You forgot:
>GAME IS CARTOONNEY b-but.....has boobies wtf????
clearly very important.
I wanna fucc that succ
i did forget. Also there was more i wanted to add but i ran out of space, kept last line for memes tho
No more boobies in D4.
perhaps you'd like some other boobies
Ew nasty.
>Perfectly at head height
Imagine having succubus but not actually showing anything. What's the point?
Succubi have rights too you know.
Yeah, the right to show their breasts.
Where the frick are the flame spells for druid?
Wheres my rolling spicy meatball?
>NOOOOO WHY ISNT DRUID EXACTLY THE SAME AS SORC BUT SHITTIER???!
Wth are you talking about moron?
D2 druid had fire spells, you know? Fricking Armageddon that summons a meteor shower, even if it's not a meta spell, is still a fire druid spell.
They have the rolling meatball, it's just not spicy anymore.
Wish that you could make it that way using one of the talent upgrades for it or a legendary effect but oh well.
Can you still play the beta after the 28th?
You can't even play the beta right now. It's over.
The class has very little synergies with most of its skills and passives, combined with your legendary effects basically being what your skills should often be as a baseline make it pain.
So apparenjtly theres a barbarian build that does over 300k crits???
Probably one of those that stacks resource regeneration with aspect that increases damage for every fury generated over your cap. Still 300k sounds like an extreme case where someone waited to deal that one specific crit, and then damage dropped to regular levels.
its the whirlwind build
told you barbarian is going to be abnormally powerful over necro and sorc
No amount of power will make me play a spin2win build, frick whirlwind, frick cyclone.
I fricking hate playing with whirlwind barbs that want to just rush through the dungeons as fast as possible spinning like gays leaving everyone behind.
as opposed to the other classes not wanting to rush through dungeons and just grinding it out for hours?
If you want to play a slow ass warrior for flavor, good for you, but those games are mostly based around builds that can clear content fast.
>just rush through the dungeons as fast as possible
Dude, that's every class. That's how you play those games, and that's why you want to play it solo so you are on your own pace.
>as fast as possible
Is there any reason not to? Especially with level scaling.
I spent almost entire ending part of the act just running away from mob packs.
>Still 300k sounds like an extreme case where someone waited to deal that one specific crit, and then damage dropped to regular levels.
It's the classic DPS (damage per screenshot) builds that pop up in any game. Retry 100 times until you get that perfect overpower lucky hit super boosted crit hit of 200 morbillion dmg and there you go, the class is amazing, with screenshots to prove it.
it felt weak in the beta
sorcerer felt OP
rogue felt good
barb felt awful
druid was 2nd worst
necro was 3rd of the 5.
Rogue is fun.
I like charging arrows with darkness and then using that barrage ability.
Is rogue hybrid ranged/melee builds a meme or is it actually possible and good? Almost everyone I see is either doing pure ranged or pure melee.
I got the butchers unique axe near the end of the beta. Did anyone find any other reds?
>Pay 70+ dollars for a game.
>Then expected to buy a "battle pass" to keep up with others.
game for literal cuck paypigs.
Battle pass for cosmetics only.
You're crying because you can buy change of clothes for your dress up fantasies?
literally proven wrong
post proof
google it you moronic Black personlicking frick
I googled 'gay moron making shit up' and it redirected to your post.
Anon is a homosexual who makes shit up, who would have guessed?
>pick Barb because me unga bunga
>don't really know what I'm doing
>build into frenzy/whirlwind/war cry/thorns
>Deal with regular and elite mobs mostly fine but bosses are like pulling teeth
>never did beat the butcher with barbarian
>try sorcerer
>don't even remember what I built into
>was nuking everything in sight
>and my mana just fricking regenerates lmao
Barb fricking sucked too. Sorcerer is a walking war crime and Rogue is a step behind her.
try necro, roll the legendary, let the whole screen explode into a bloody mist
a LOT of people are gonna drop the game thinking you should be at the same power level at lvl25 you were in the beta
i guarantee that
steer clear of anyone posting any opinions about the strength of classes based on a level 25 act i beta unless they atleast have the decency to do some napkin math
casters scale with levels/skill ranks and melee scale with gear, welcome to rpgs
>casters scale with levels/skill ranks and melee scale with gear
get with the times grandpa, all skills are spells are the same, and weapons are just stat sticks.
is that why a well geared barb was by far the strongest class in the beta? and the gap is going to widen at max level
I dunno man, this seems pretty good.
>pylon
It's pretty weak and needs legendaries to be on par with other classes (without legendaries). Tornado is prolly the best skill w/o legendaries but sort of annoying to play without the seeking legendary. Pulverize is a joke of skill until you get the shockwave legendary that also increases it's damage by some ridiculous amount, I think mine had +250%. If some of these key legendaries are rewards from early accessible dungeons (say in acts 1 and 2), I don't think Druid will be that bad for leveling (assuming it would launch in its current state).
this kills the crab
i hate all those dumb titles you get as rewards
theyre literally taken from immortal
Druid exists so that players can experience all phases of a boss fight
>play both weekend betas
>still not sure what the difference is between critical strike, lucky strike, overpower, crowd control
crit is crit
overpower is crit
crowd control is anything that controls the crowd
idk what lucky hit is, seemed like a way to have proc effects scale with gear rather than just being a flat %
I swear overpower mentioned something to do with using your hp in the calculation but maybe I'm misremembering.
>critical strike
someas in any other arpg
>lucky hit
critical strike 2, only applies to effects that specifially state lucky hit, each skill has a lucky hit coefficient (so multi-hit skills aren't inherently superior)
>overpower
critical strike 3, instead of critical damage, it deals bonus damage based on your life+fortify.
>crowd control
same as in any other arpg
>crowd control
>same as in any other arpg
Why did they differentiate between crowd control and slow then?
they wanted to separate "hard" CC from "soft" CC, but as with many other things, did a piss poor job of communicating it.
D3 had the same iirc with its CC resistance system.
a slow is a crowd control
a stun is a crowd control
a slow is not a stun
Yeah, I remembered that some modifiers on items were strictly for stuns at times right after posting.
>>play both weekend betas
>he shilled out 70 bucks if not more for a beta
LMAO
You could play the first one for a sandwich.
>playing D3.5
>it's worse than D3
TWO FRICKING MONTHS
LET ME IN
>LET ME IN
Anyone else playing with a controller because you grew up playing based PS2 ARPGs?
this was always just a poor man's d2
but it's good for what it is
i liked the psp one
and that baldurs gate dark alliance shit.
>Is the Druid in Diablo IV really as bad as people are saying?
I don't know. You see, i don't really play with Black person or obese characters.
>Mad Wolf's Glee
>Werewolf form is now your true form, and you gain +2 Ranks to all Werewolf Skills.
>Insatiable Fury
>Werebear form is now your true form, and you gain +2 Ranks to all Werebear Skills.
Just get some dudes together and play through the first two games for the atmosphere and nostalgia once or twice a year.
It's the only way to enjoy these games without going full moron.
also, Diablo is literally a troon now.
>End of the First Mother
>Defeat Uber Lilith.
Not really, but you need the right legendary aspects to make him work and that's where my problem with scaling mobs comes from because if you don't get the right drops you will just feel weaker while you level up. They really need to rethink how the aspects works.
>i feel weak
You are weak.
shut the frick up you moronic Black person.
>every aspect has a corresponding dungeon and aspects you earn through dungeons are shared between characters on the same realm so it shouldn't be a problem
Some of the aspects are only in later dungeons, the point is if you don't get the right aspects you are forced to play builds around the aspect you get.
you're not forced to do anything on normal difficulty buddy
>people don't get 300% dmg multiplier aspects are bad game design
God, I hate nu-Ganker literally the most dogshit board next to /misc/
>b-bbut muh braindead difficulty
but randomly getting 300% dmg multiplier uniques or sets is perfectly valid game design shut the frick up moron b***h
It isn't because this means some builds are only viable if you get this one item with 300% dmg multiplier, you moronic homosexual glasses wearing onions Black person.
>remove all good interesting items just give me stat sticks reeeeeee muh rng
why are you even in this thread since you clearly hate the entire genre
>d3 moron talking about anything
Im just not going to bother with this game at all. pic related.
the classes seem boring? its like the same shit from d3
wheres the new shit like witch doctor or demon hunter
necromancer and rogue
necro so lame
same old shit from 20 years ago
rogue is like the bland version of DH
give us shadowhunter or warlock or something
as opposed to uhm
sorcerer? barbarian? druid?
lmao
druid is interesting
but yes the other two are also uninspired
The entire questline has been datamined. I know who the wolf is. I know what happens to Lilith and Inarius.
Also
>Template: Kill Unique Elite
>Slay Big Summungus
Please, don't hold back, anon.
Worst case scenario, we won't believe you.
okay
your only frens are the Horadrim: Lorath, Neyrelle, and Donan
the wolf is Mephisto. He's reforming his essence in the Cathedral of Hatred which you need to stop Lilith.
The final zone is the Burning Hells.
Lilith kills Inarius. He's not a boss.
You shove a soulstone up Lilith's butt to defeat her.
I don't think Diablo is actually in the game.
Meshif is in the game for some reason.
Yeah, that checks out.
I don't believe you but I do.
Going full werebear or werewolf build sucks ass because the attributes are distributed equally. You can't deal enough damage if you cant put your points on STR. It will literally be like diablo 3
>playing the class they literally don't know what they're fricking doing with
deserved
Yes, compared to rogue or sorc it's complete fricking dogshit. But then again, so is barbarian. But Druid is just unashamedly bad. And it's not bad in a sense where tuning can fix it. The class would need a fundamental redesign in order to be even remotely playable by anyone who's not a complete lorelet and actually gives a shit about endgame. Unfortunately, we're well past the point where a redesign is possible so we're unfortunately stuck with this piece of shit sorry excuse for a class. Glad I didn't buy this heaping pile of dogshit.
druids problem is that every ability feels like shit. there i solved it.
Maybe I'm just old and more comfortable with the older way. I remember that it felt silly playing D3 when you suddenly started doing 800 000 000 in crit damage to enemies and they still didn't die.
Yea but d3 homosexuals are used to this in d2 most of your dmg will come from skill points. In d4 most of the dmg will come from legendary aspects.
Its not even open world
As soon as I got the legendary that made me regen HP themore monsters are around pulverise picked up. The hardest challenge is constantly staring above 80% hp. The rest was easily disable with just rares and talent points.
This shit is why barbarian is gonna be on top in endgame
11 million crit at level 25
Why? Because you have 50% crit hit chance?
if that aspect is max roll, does that mean you get 80% added on top of existing crit chance after 4 seconds of ww? that's what the + symbol means right? you automatically get close to 100% crit with one leggo? shit is bonkers
yep thats why with that build you see barbs hitting above 300k crits
Im confused. How much damage does a crit do? It seems like 2.5x is the maximum you can roll. So if hes doing 250% 80% of the time. Hes still hitting for 100k without a crit. How is he doing that?
>diablo 2
>first 15 minutes
>iconic music
>iconic "stay a while"
>diablo 4
>nothing iconic at all
>music? what is that
The Kyovashad theme is pretty great
the twist with the villagers trying to kill you was good.
Whoever writes their worthless lore and quests is dead inside
yeah the story dropped hard after that the dark undertone it had was interesting and then... went to nowhere
they also made a classic mistake in storytelling: Not offering any stakes.
The stakes is the one of the 3 prime evils are back? I mean sure the story isn't great but saying there is no stake when Lillith is back is stupid.
Well, to be fair, if you haven't read The Sin War, you wouldn't know who the frick Lilith even is and why she's so dangerous.
that's not a stake, that's like saying that there are poor people in the world or there are criminals.
Because why is my D2 sorceress even IN the Rogue camp?
why shouldnt there be one more sorceress survivor from the attacks in the camp?
No time, have to focus on the mary sue. It's funny that vigo was the npc people ended up caring about.
yes and the way that this NPC mary sue feels no fear when running after Lilith with you makes the whole thing seem like a joke.
They should have never upped the drop rate
calling it beta when infact its the release build is scummy af
Its all gonna go down to
>barb whirlwinding through endgame
>sorc glasscannon through endgame
>necro minion carrying through endgame
>druid constantly dying through endgame
minions are trash corpse explosion is just blantantly broken. every skill just spawns a pile of corpses. and bosses for some reason when they attack also spawn corpses. CE has no cooldown, no resource cost, in fact with 1 skill point it actually BUILDS RESOURCE per explosion and hits harder than all of my other spells. The damage is further added when the enemy has any debuff, which stack.
Theyll nerf that for sure but minion build will be good
I've never had more actual gameplay fun in an ARPG than I've had when I played Monk in D3.
It's worst than barb?
im gonna wait for moron streamers to figure out the best class + build combo
copy that
play for an hour or two and just quit unironically
theres no build
Rogue. Rogue is the best so far and the only class that can solo a world boss.
lol no
Yeah, D4 is a pretty good $30 game with microtransactions and a season pass.
... I'm sorry what? How much?
No but Diablo IV is as bad as people are saying.
>Bandit's Swag Bag
>It's a bag for swag you can grab and drag to your nag as you brag to your lads.
no, it's by far the best ARPG ever made. But it is pretty unbalanced and should have an offline mode
