Ryu is the face of SF and always will be. Ken is the perfect rival/friend and Chun Li will always be the famous girl of SF with how she's the sole reason 2P was made in the first place.
Capcom tried the new generation thing in SF3 and they were originally not going to put in Ryu and Ken but felt they had to due to their popularity (and how VF was dominating arcades at this time and SF was not as popular in NA as it is today). Alex and Sean were marketed as the new protags with Gill the new bad guy to replace Bison, fans hated Sean and don't like Bison getting replaced at this point so Capcom scrapped the idea The dislike of new generation stuff is also why Capcom added Akuma and Chun-Li in the later versions of SF3 as fans felt they should've been in.
Capcom tries again to push the new generation idea in SF4 with Abel, Seth and Viper but this time they make sure to show everyone the focus of the legacy characters like Bison, Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Chun-Li etc already being in the game and with marketing so the backlash was nonexistent and since nobody cared for Abel and most of the others, they were forgotten about which's why Juri is always brought back instead and is now more of the face for SF4 due to fan popularity.
Capcom does it again in SF5 but this time it's at the end with Luke. SF5 has bigger focus on legacy stuff with SF3 characters and Final Fight etc
SF6 does new generation again but Luke is pushed even harder and made more relatable to zoomers because now the idea is that Ryu is seen as not as relatable but he's still the face of SF so he has to be shown everywhere as Capcom doesn't want a repeat of SF3
Because the world warriors have been around for 30+ years and had their story arcs but that doesn't mean they need to stop existing. Hell if anything settling down and becoming a teacher made characters like Honda, Chun-Li, Guile and Ryu even more likable.

Most of them were replaced instead of flat out removed. For context the post I'm responding to is flat out suggesting Ryu be removed in favor of luke. That would be the equivalent to rinsing the Mishimas out of Tekken 3 and you just get Bryan Fury as a mascot instead. All OG Tekken cast still exists in the form of themselves, a student, or an offspring.
I personally wish SF6 leaned more into a "passing the torch" setting. With all the characters protege's like Sakura, Sean, Adon, etc being a heavy focus in the story.
It would have been a great fit for World Tour, seeing how your character goes around trying to be tutored by everyone. It could also make for interesting dynamics with characters like Akuma who have never taken an apprentice realizing that their generation is over and a new one is rising.

Ryu's not a mentor. In WT he treats you like a fellow sparing partner who's training in the same area. I know people skip the dialogue to get the costumes but come on. If Ryu was a mentor more people would be talking about his disciple.
The ranking system is all kinds of busted. When qualifying I got a 10 win streak with Ken and it gave me Gold 1, won 4/10 with Cammy and it gave me Gold 5
Fought higher rank players with Ken as well, with Cammy I even lost to a bronze twice. Can't say I played better with Cammy either (ie higher combos, parries, etc) so it really doesn't make any sense
Ryu is the richest due to winning tournaments but he only has education up to third grade or something, so Ken manages his finances for him.
The Masters Association (owned by Ken Masters) was framed as doing illegal shit in Nayshall by JP. By the time of the SF6 story Ken has been acquitted by the charges, but during the investigation he lost everything, I'm guessing part of the fraud was a massive investment rug pull.

Standing HP is great, as is the classic "stop sign" neutral jump HP. You can also steer it once it's out. I use it to slowly approach zoners. You can even drift right over Deejay's double air slasher.

Neutral jump, hit her low, EX DP if you have it (unless you are Cammy or DJ in which case it won't hit enough times to break her armor and you will get blown up for trying).
Don't crouch block vs her, stand block. That way when she does charge moves you'll back up out of her range and even though she's still +, she won't have as many followups due to the distance. And after you're done make sure you give thanks that proxy guard isn't as ass as it was in 5 or 4.

Alex and Sean were marketed as the new protags with Gill the new bad guy to replace Bison, fans hated Sean and don't like Bison getting replaced at this point so Capcom scrapped the idea The dislike of new generation stuff is also why Capcom added Akuma and Chun-Li in the later versions of SF3 as fans felt they should've been in.
Capcom tries again to push the new generation idea in SF4 with Abel, Seth and Viper but this time they make sure to show everyone the focus of the legacy characters like Bison, Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Chun-Li etc already being in the game and with marketing so the backlash was nonexistent and since nobody cared for Abel and most of the others, they were forgotten about which's why Juri is always brought back instead and is now more of the face for SF4 due to fan popularity.
Capcom does it again in SF5 but this time it's at the end with Luke. SF5 has bigger focus on legacy stuff with SF3 characters and Final Fight etc
SF6 does new generation again but Luke is pushed even harder and made more relatable to zoomers because now the idea is that Ryu is seen as not as relatable but he's still the face of SF so he has to be shown everywhere as Capcom doesn't want a repeat of SF3

Tekken 3 is the most beloved game in the series, and it's the one that did a timeskip and axed half the cast, giving them replacement characters.
Most of them were replaced instead of flat out removed. For context the post I'm responding to is flat out suggesting Ryu be removed in favor of luke. That would be the equivalent to rinsing the Mishimas out of Tekken 3 and you just get Bryan Fury as a mascot instead. All OG Tekken cast still exists in the form of themselves, a student, or an offspring.
I personally wish SF6 leaned more into a "passing the torch" setting. With all the characters protege's like Sakura, Sean, Adon, etc being a heavy focus in the story.
It would have been a great fit for World Tour, seeing how your character goes around trying to be tutored by everyone. It could also make for interesting dynamics with characters like Akuma who have never taken an apprentice realizing that their generation is over and a new one is rising.

The ranking system is all kinds of busted. When qualifying I got a 10 win streak with Ken and it gave me Gold 1, won 4/10 with Cammy and it gave me Gold 5
Fought higher rank players with Ken as well, with Cammy I even lost to a bronze twice. Can't say I played better with Cammy either (ie higher combos, parries, etc) so it really doesn't make any sense

Perish
Block or parry
if you block the target combo and she's charging gladius hit her with a low, it breaks the superarmor on that move
Neutral jump, hit her low, EX DP if you have it (unless you are Cammy or DJ in which case it won't hit enough times to break her armor and you will get blown up for trying).
Don't crouch block vs her, stand block. That way when she does charge moves you'll back up out of her range and even though she's still +, she won't have as many followups due to the distance. And after you're done make sure you give thanks that proxy guard isn't as ass as it was in 5 or 4.
