Get a better bag. My sling bag can easily hold my Switch or a Deck case as well as clothing/water bottle/books a tablet and then some. 3DS controls suck for action games also. MH4U has been a pain to play on a N3DSXL

It plays more games than the Switch at 2-5 hours of battery life. That alone makes it better. Switch can't natively play a single AAA game from the last 5 years aside from the barely running Doom Eternal port.

Except that it's cheaper and has a much better design. It also just works, which is a huge draw for most people. The appeal of a handheld is that you can just pick it up and play without having to go through a bunch of shit.

its very light and has way better ergonomics than my switch. playing switch would cause my hands to cramp after an hour, on my deck i can play for well over 4 hours and feel fine.

Never saw someone playing a switch on the go. tbh seeing anyone play a handheld has been an extremely rare sight. Most people just frick around on their phones. Id say even most gamers would rarely drag along a handheld like a vita or 3ds. It's just another thing to take along that still has some bulk to it even if its not Deck/Switch sized. Add to that people are usually busy doing other things when they go out. At best maybe you'd want to use it in public transportation if the ride is even long enough to get a decent session out of a real game vs the average short phone game

bought a deck and it got here a month ago. i've used it once since then. don't know why, but it's just not appealing to me. first impression is a super laggy steam client and only 60 games out of my 300 game library were verified, which surprised me. battery time is also shockingly bad. i dunno, i kind of regret my purchase tbh.

I see people b***hing about the battery life in DMC5 only being 2 hours, so I try it and turn down like 2 settings and end up boosting the batter from 2 hours to 3.5 in the span of 2 minutes of messing around in options. It arguably looks better now than it did at max settings just because games tend to look better without heavy duty AA at DPI this high. Now it runs at 10-13W while still looking good in the process.
I feel like the battery problem has less to do with the deck and more to do with morons that have no idea what they're doing, not even attempting to try a few basic power saving options.
and it's even better for all the seething and coping the nintentrannies are doing because of it 😉
