The cheaters aren't in community servers. Just avoid Valve's quick play servers just like you did before 2015.
The problem is the sheer lack of good Community Servers outside of the Gankeran and Kogasatopia. Nobody who actually cares about TF2 wants to play on Black person-tier garbage like Skial or Uncletopia or whatever other big server hosting communities that dominate the server browser.

Yeah, for the most part. Socially, the game is fricking terrible. Zone chat is the most awful piece of shit no matter where you go. Every guild wants you to join a discord as a requirement. Most people are okay when doing dungeons, but some people are just sologays who actually need to be carried as they rush through.

Even if there was only 5000 people playing it as a close community, that would have been preferred to the autismscape that we have now. OSRS was never meant to be the main game, it happened by circumstance and the mishandling of RS3 during it's transition from the first 2 years of EOC. RSC was left up for quite awhile with maybe 100 people playing it, OSRS bottomed out at 10,000 players at the worst, launch hypes never last for any MMO, you are delusion for thinking OSRS would have "died"

Team Fortress 2 and it's not even a contest. Granted I never had an ability to play it growing up due to not having a PC or The Orange Box, so my experience with TF2 started a few months before Jungle Inferno, meaning I never experienced peak TF2. What I have experienced though in my 5k+ hours is completely fricking awful. The community around this game, especially in the hellhole that is the Steam forum for TF2 is like mixing the worst aspects of /misc/, /lgbt/, and Reddit together. The gameplay feels miserable with basically everything that isn't stock being completely worthless. The trading scene is dominated by bots and people who don't even use the items they have, and God don't even get me started on how awful my experience with Community Servers has been. It's just all around not fun and it pisses me off that I never got to experience old-school TF2 since I'm sure it was fantastic.

The core gameplay is great. Jumping around while blowing up enemies is great fun. The feature bloat makes it hard to know what to do. Most of these features requires grinding. Despite feature bloat, the duviri paradox was great, it let you focus on doing the fun part of the game.

I love this game but if you aren't into MMOs or are some old school MMO purist, its not worth your time. Once you finish all the story up to the current stuff, the best way to play is to resub a month before the new expansion, play all the new story content, then jump into the new expansion and finish all that content and unsub.

Each of their grand strategy games appear to be really deep and complex but all of its complexity doesn't matter. It can all be ignored and you can still go paint the world whatever color you want. You can get nearly the same experience by playing Risk.

I think potion craft is cool but you shouldn't play it in its current state. It is straight up unfinished. The last few chapters go extremely slowly because some endgame stuff like the wine base and upgraded garden are not implemented, and recipes for the special materials can't be saved even though there's a button to do so

We were promised a massive improvement from RO: Ostfront. Instead we got a buggier onoptimized mess. Much less content, much less community support tools from the beginning. They took away the key element that made Ostfront great (autismal historical accuracy) for casuals. There were LEGACY BUGS found in RO Ostfront that was present in RO2 which further proved the devs didn't care or was too incompetent.
I used to crash servers by binding pickup/drop weapons to the scroll wheels and letting it spin on a pile of weapons. Crazy isn't it how that can crash a server to a point it requires an external input for a restart?

Grand Tactician: The Civil War 1861-1865
The AI is dogshit and it took them six months to fix the buggy UI. The officer mode DLC is kinda cool, but the AI is still shit and was even worse if you try officer mode since you're now not in command of everything but stuck to a single regiment/division/corps/whatever so you're reliant on a shitty AI to fight a similarly shitty AI. The campaign is either won or lost in the first year, also.
There's very few Civil War games out there, though, so it is what it is. I can't fight Scourge of War: Gettysburg anywhere to pirate. Everything I've found doesn't work.
I don't have a shit taste. All of them were really fun to play and I regret nothing.
World of Tanks. The core gameplay is genuinely fun, it really is, but ultimately the game is balanced around the idea of extorting money from you if you want to make any progress, and worst of all, casual matches are 15vs15 affairs which are nigh impossible to carry if your team is filled with morons (and it will be), and the rewards are directly tied to winning. And if you manage to soldier through that shit, there’s no real endgame beyond clan wars that is (or at least, was) a horrible circlejerk with the best clans optimizing their affairs so that they can earn the most gold without actually having to play the game.
And to top that, the dev team is shit at balancing the game, and the tank you spent ages grinding for *will* be nerfed to oblivion to make room to new powercreep shit. If it was a ”buy it once and enjoy” game, it would be the best MP experience ever, but the F2P side of it just makes it a miserable experience in the long run.

For me, GTA Online felt like this, even though its not F2P. In a way, it’s the game I’ve dreamt since I played San Andreas as teenager. But every minute I spend with it, I just feel how everything in it is designed just to try to squeeze more real money out of me.
Thing about GTAO is there’s still so much good fricking game to play that I can overlook the soulless cash grab. And once they finally released a solo money maker (Cayo Perico) I was back in all the way

Fair enough. My main gripe with the game was the whole sight system where a tiny bush could render any brick like a Maus completely invisible. Obviously, you know he's there and can shoot him but you couldn't see him. And if he did get spotted, he'd immediately disappear right after. Fricking moronic.

Team Fortress 2.
It was the first game that got me into PC gaming. I went to a Gamestop attempting to purchase "a copy of Team Fortress 2" when the Gamestop employee told me to just download Steam lol. I put over 3000 hours into it over my teenager years and grew up on the game, enjoying many communities and servers (special shoutout to fire friendly and its freak fortress 2 servers) but now it is quite literally a husk of its former self. The casual spirit disappeared when people started taking the game too seriously and competitively like Counter Strike, and the cheating that comes along with a competitive game.
Games some days can be just plain unplayable on official servers. Uncletopia and Skial have some of the easiest braindead players to own so it's not very fun. The closet cheaters are horrendous with people blatantly aimboting on their 15 year old steam account with expensive unusuals just because Valve does not give a frick about this game anymore other than keeping the item servers running for the passive revenue.
I miss my favorite PC game but it's time to move on. I have a library of 700 games but I still like to come back to TF2 from time to time to do some crazy rocket jumper shotgun action.

War thunder. It's really challenging and the reward is pretty gratifying when you get the hang of it. But mother frick it is the worst p2w offender.
Example: I was getting repeatedly rekt by a tier 3 German tank from like, halfway across the map. Seemed crazy that a low tier tank had so much firepower so I grinded the German skill tree and got it. When I say I have sank multiple point blank shots into a light armor tank only to get shredded by said tank, I really mean this is a regular problem but no one cares because they already know. I firmly believe if you buy the battle pass you get random crits from stock vehicles, meanwhile everyone else has to grind for weeks to modify theirs to even be competitive. They also have a hacking problem now.
Probably CSGO/CS2. What a terrible fricking game and the amount of cheaters is significant enough that you will end up running into at least a few if you play competitive.
