Only for wholesome chungus Keanu Reeves when he steals your body. Oh, you mean happy ending for you? No. You're not the main character.

This is the ending I chose. Melancholy for sure. Didn't they add a new happy ending with the Phantom Liberty expansion? I just started playing it.

it's actually about the most miserable ending in the game, believe it or not
it's "happy" in the sense that V does get to survive, with no doubt or ambiguity, because it comes with some massive strings attached

        >Didn't they add a new happy ending with the Phantom Liberty expansion?
no. everyone's life goes to shit (except for judy) because V disappears for 2 years and he loses the ability to ever get more than the most basic cybernetic implants, he's alive, but he's just an ordinary cog in the machine, isolated and alone.

Happy cyberpunk endings are kind of lame and gay.

We all die eventually. Even if you believe in a religion, no religion can promise you immortality. We live, we suffer, we die; but we also love and experience joy. No amount of time is guaranteed to you. Some might die tomorrow, others will die in a hundred years. You should not want to live forever. You should want to live happily, and though V suffered, he also had some good times before he died.

      >Le Cyberpunk doesn't have happy endings!
That's all fricking bullshit considering Johnny gets a happy ending stealing your body and getting away scott free. Stop regurgitating this IT'S CYBERPUNK NO HAPPY ENDINGS THAT'S WHAT CYBERPUNK MEANS garbage. Look at Morgan Blackhand. So stop with this fricking nonsense already.

Right, all those stories about the mysterious black hand superpower vigilante dispensing justice are just rumors! No substance! He totally disappeared and isn't le badass killing machine drifter *wink*. Come the frick on.

You might consider it a happy ending, but it isn't.

          >You might consider it a happy ending, but it isn't.
Midwit take. You're not clever. Pic related. You might be sad having your body stolen, but Johnny's even more sad to steal it from you!

        >Johnny gets a happy ending stealing your body and getting away scott free.
It's not lol. Johnny watches one of his only real friends die and is stuck alone in a world and time that isn't his and a body that isn't his, with most of everyone he knew dead, and those that aren't either still don't like him (Rogue) or have bigger shit going on in their lives than him (Kerry). Further, Panam vows to kill Johnny for what she perceives as his hostile takeover of her dear friend's body.

I say again, Johnny is ALONE. Unlike V who had a bunch of friends and people he could call family, Johnny has no one left in the world. To add onto this, he's stuck with the realization that for most of his life he's been nothing but a major frickup that typically made the lives of those around him even worse, with V's death being the ultimate example.
Being truly alone in the world with nothing but your pointless lamentations is the greatest punishment one can receive.

What the frick is Johnny gonna do with his "second chance" exactly? He can't make up his frickups to anyone because they're either all dead or burnt their bridges, he can't go after Arasaka again, and he sure as frick can't play pretend to V's friends. Johnny's got nothing.

Why the frick would V be seeing Tarot Cards when he's never even looked at one before? When you see the first one outside of your apartment V literally remarks about how they have no clue what the frick it is. Also the Tarot Cards LITERALLY GIVE FREE HINTS ABOUT THE STORY AND CHARACTERS THAT'S WHY YOU ONLY FIND THEM IN CERTAIN LOCATIONS.

Only on an individual level, but with a price to pay. If you know the Cyberpunk universe you are aware that in the end corporations always win, the city always wins and Silverhand is one of the examples. Anyone who seeks fame and glory does so with the knowledge that he will not die of old age but hoping to be remembered as a legend
