Is there a single-player videogame that I can pretty much play forever?

Is there a single-player videogame that I can pretty much play forever? I'm tired of that horrible, empty feeling I get after finishing a videogame that I can no longer replay again.

Just want to devote the rest of my life to a game that I know will never end, can be any genre like RTS, turn based or RPGs. As long as the amount of work I put into it means something while still giving challenges.

      >Witcher 3, Mass Effect Trilogy

You can't play these games forever. Once you finish the story and clear the map, it's over.

A good game you can play forever?

No anon that doesn't exist unless they build in AI so it can generate all new storylines with recycled assets.

Pick Emerald, Platinum, or HeartGold for Battle Frontier

Add to this. Try some Romhacks after you've gotten bored of the mainline games. A lot of them can be better than some of the lesser mainlines

Modded Skyrim, especially if you try to make mods.

don't mods eventually break Bethesda games if you play it too long?

Yeah. You'll spend about six hours carefully curating a massive mod list for an inspired heavily-modded playthrough, load up the game, play for an hour before it crashes, get bored, and move on. In all honesty, Skyrim mods are in a decent place, they're pretty stable unless you're throwing in a lot of extreme shit. Just be reasonable, stuff like Open Cities can work but it puts a huge strain on the code itself rather than your actual system.

It's easier to mod Skyrim to make it Genshin.
