Is there an alternative to World of Warcraft?
Path of Exile. Both of these games are horrible for my social life.
Path of Exile is just a generic Diabe-girlke. The style is basic, and the gameplay is simple. It looks just like those web games.
The game mechanics are mathematically deeper than any Blizzard game. I'd not say it's 'generic' but it's not the savior-of-the-genre-status people ascribe it either. It's just good and nothing more nothing less.

Path of Exile is extremely repetitive and boring, all its "depth" that PoEgays with an inferiority complex love going on about is just that the game has some systems that differ from Diablo, the game they're always seething about in one way or another, despite their denials.

And still all of Blizzard's Diablos are more interesting because they are more immersive. Having more options can be better but not at the cost of everything else.

i've only put multiple thousands of hours into a few games, OP, and WoW was one of them
the others are doom 2 (via modding and multiplayer), dota 2, guild wars 1, ffxiv, and runescape

WoW is good simply in that the music and art style is charming. Once you realize that, the game itself is not so much fun.
You don't want alternatives. If you keep jumping from 1 to another you'll ruin your life. You could play league of legends for example but why would you want to make yourself addicted to that? I will spare you and not give you games to play.
