Is there an RTS out there with a branching campaign?

Is there an RTS out there with a branching campaign?

I feel that it's rather unexplored, (Understandably so, since meaningfully branching grows exponentially the more branches you have)

Can't think of anything off the top of my head.

SRPGs do it, no reason RTS can't.

That cover gives me an immense nostalgia that I can't really put into words. CYOA was such a big part of my childhood, so seeing somebody with similar tastes makes me happy in ways I can't describe.

All I know are some SRPGs and TBS games like Star Hammer, but no RTSs.

every mission you chose 1 from 5 different gods that you'll help. and the story moves on on every mission as well. a very good game to boot, if you can stand the slight jank. it's oozing with soul, both figuratively and literally. but it's probably older than you so...

    A branching campaign means that

    1) the initial section must be a masterpiece of game design to keep you engaged on multiple playthroughs or it inevitably becomes a slog you push through to get to the good parts.

    2) any one storyline will be much shorter than what you could have accomplished if you told a linear story.

    3) avoiding the reuse of missions because "you have them" when the narrative you've chosen doesn't really fit with it (specially cheap reskins that were obviously something else)

    Pretty big filters imo

Not an RTS, but The South Guard campaign in Wesnoth splits in 2 around halfway trough based on wether or not you spare the chief bandit.
Also not an RTS, but in homm3roe, in the spoils of war campaign, you get to play as 2 factions and in the final mission, you choose whih one you play as and you keep all the things that you did for that faction up to that point and you fight against the other faction

Might as well mention Heroes of Magic and Magic 2 where you can actually betray your initial lord.

When nonlinearity is on the table, devs prefer to go with a campaign map approach and let players tell their own stories of conquest.
