Yes, but I just flushed it down the toilet 30 minutes ago.
Brainlet or didn’t play
Coping or seething
Nope. It's the greatest game ever produced.
play a real game with good story like ffxiv
But I've played and enjoyed both, what do I do now?
that's a daycare for low-functioning autists
and it also happens to have the best story in all of fiction
I don't think so, and that's okay. When the next game that comes along and makes us think, explore, and experiment, it'll be great to play at any time
unless you die before then
Chants of Sennaar comes close.
It's cool, but no.
>*buuuuuuurp* we must destroy space capitalism morty, space communism is the way forward. I’m space riiiiiiiiiick
Reddit game. How far obsidian has fallen
>Bethesda game but in space
The fact that this turd was actually better than starfield is crazy given how hard it tried to just be a Skyrim with guns knockoff
Browsing Reddit and watching I Heart Huckabees.
Nah, Outer Wilds is one of a kind, but I did also really enjoy INFRA, definitely worth checking out if you want another "walking simulator" with nice visuals, puzzles and a mystery to get into. I've played it through twice and am doing another playthrough at the moment just because I enjoy the adventure.
It’s on my list, also heard good things about Tunic. Animal Well also just came out, seems like a more accessible Rain World which is somewhat similar
>Rain World
I bought this and it has totally filtered me so far, though I've never got very far into it I doubt I'm even much past the tutorial but I just keep dying to rain after like 5 minutes of exploring and the first puzzle I found didn't explain anything of what it means or any of the mechanics of how to solve it. Seems to be one of those polarizing games, I think I might enjoy it but I'll need to force myself to play it to get into and I lose interest after about 45 mins of playing and not making any progress.
Honestly it does take a couple tries to get into, if you’re dying to the rain that’s a good start. I’ve been mostly dying to other creatures so far
Not sure what you mean by puzzle, it’s not really a puzzle game. You just explore, platform, and try to survive
I found some sort of door way with some symbols I couldn't get past and assumed it was a puzzle I had to solve but had no idea what to do
Rain World is amazing but I wouldn't put it in the same category as Outer Wilds at all. It's hard to get into but well worth it. Give it a few hours.
The closest to Outer Wilds I can think of is Riven. Like Outer Wilds it's about exploring a world and the main goal is to solve a puzzle by understanding the foreign technology. Just like Outer Wilds it's a game you can only really experience once since knowledge is everything. Just know that it's much more difficult and harder to get into than Outer Wilds.
>Riven
Is it worth playing without playing rest of Myst series?
I did not care for the DLC.
I liked the DLC, but it was the only place in the game where I got annoyed by the runback every loop
It being integrated into the main game was a detriment outside of the wow factor of initially finding the thing
I hate seeing outer wilds threads because there will be anons who haven’t played it reading and getting spoiled, even if not by much. If anyone here hasn’t played it yet, just go do it. And don’t look anything up.
what the frick is there to spoil? it doesn't have a plot to follow
>hasn't even played the game
There's plenty of overrated dog shit so yeah.
Do you think the one guy shitposting will quit when he doesn’t get any (You)s
Broken Reality was another walking simulator that gave me fuzzy feelings inside, but it isn't as good as Outer Wilds
>tfw got hard filtered by bramble years ago and never finished the game
It's possible I'm alone in this but for me the best thing about Outer Wilds was the emotional impact. When the puzzle pieces fit together and the gravity and hopelessness of the situation becomes apparent, it creates a small but very rare feeling that I very much valued.
This feeling in Outer Wilds was a fraction of what I felt similarly in Majora's Mask, so if you haven't played that, it might be worth a shot.
I agree that the story was really neat. Even taking away the emotional impact, the underlying sci-fi conceit of the whole game is really neat and inventive
I see. You can disregard what I said about Rain World not being similar to Outer Wilds then. I think it has the kind of atmosphere that you're looking for (I love Majora's Mask too btw). Do note that Rain World does something very unique and weird with its story in that it's actually completely optional and easily missed so you might want to look for more information online if you end up liking the core gameplay.
Thanks anon, I will give it a shot. I've owned it for a bit, never started it up.
It's good but it's just myst in space I don't understand why people treat it like it's god's cum or some shit.
Games that actually have content.
Didnt finish it or didn’t play it?
Obra Dinn
The Roottrees are Dead
That's about it
