This.
Bought it for the D-Pad and the D-Pad is the worst part about it. Other than that it's pretty great imo considering the price. It's nice to have a controller that werks on all my devices (Xbox, Switch, PC, Linux, Android).
Note that I own the Pro 1, but afaik it's the same except the Pro 2 is more customizable. Also remember that this controller has no gyro, which might or not be a deal breaker depending on which games you're trying to play.
No third party controller will be as good as a first party controller if you intend to use it wirelessly for the simple fact that First party controllers only use BT to sync but transmit data at a 2.4hz radio frequency, whereas third party controllers transmit entirely on bluetooth. What this means is that a Switch Pro controller is snappy and responsive for games like Splatoon that use Gyro, but a third party controller will feel like there's a delay between your movements and the actions on the screen. I think controllers that can wake the switch up from sleep mode aren't purely bluetooth, but since I already have a switch pro controller I didn't bother to investigate.
You're right about the Pro's D-Pad for sure >Tried it for my PC via SF6 >Kept getting up inputs randomly when shimmying left/right that I'd never get on my PS4 pad
In turn 100% suggest picking up one of these for like $30
>hori switch pro controller
They look like this btw
>Used it instead, it was a touch stiff but honestly worked like a pro. I dislike though how deep it goes if you remove the plastic pivot and just use the buttons directly.
Also would recommend the HORI Split Pad Pro if going handheld mode.
God no.
8bitdo's are renowned for fricking up and having bad dpads that register diagonals instead of cardinal inputs, and the face buttons stick and don't pop back up again.
Get the HORI switch pro controller. It's rock solid.
i got both and HORI pad is so much better, its cheap and it feels good to use too since its a 360 clone
the only wrong thing about it is not having rumble but its no big deal
>having bad dpads
i unironically think that the dpad on my ultimate controller feels good. which was surprising since i hate most dpads out there
no idea about the pro 2 but looks about the same to me
Holy frick this thread is once again proof of the fact that no one should ever seek advice on anything on Ganker. I have one of these OP and I enjoy it a lot. I remember that before getting it I did some reasearch and in general I saw lots of positive feedback on 8bitdo controllers online. I've had it for at least 3 years now. A friend of mine got one recently too to use as a replacement for his dead xbox controller and he doesn't have any problems either.
I will say though that the dpad is nothing like modern controllers. If you've ever had a SNES controller it feels almost like that. Also, the angle at which the handles are positioned will make it "weird" the first couple of hours when using the sticks.
Same experience. 'Mushy buttons and dpad' my ass, because my game moronic wife immediately notices all controllers at other people's houses are mushy as frick and b***hes.
isnt this the controller that michael jackson took into the titanic and hooked up the cord to the titanic and sailed the titanic up to the surface and then michael jackson came out of the captains window and the crowds were cheering and he was waving down at them and then he threw a newborn baby out
the only problem I had with my pro2 was when I updated the firmware and it would go into a spastic connect/disconnect rage. after contacting the manufacturer, they send me a beta firmware update and since then I had no problems. buttons are and sticks are all fine
It's alright. Used it for a year on and off as a backup controller. Trigger cap is squeaky when I press down on it hard. A paddle controller at that price is pretty nice though.
I've been using the Pro+ and Pro 2 for years. It's personally one of the most comfortable controllers I've ever held, it's great if you have big hands.
I've not had any of the issues other anons have mentioned, aside perhaps one of the D-Pads getting soft but that was inevitable after years of use, and not so soft that it's not nice to use.
It's OK. I don't like the triggers. I just use a DS4 for PC but mildly interested in that Pro 8bitdo controller though. Looks like a Switch Pro as well.
I quite like mine although the software it uses is Chinese as frick and just bately works. Worth it for the back paddles. The dpad isn't mushy, if anything there is too little travel not too much
No. Used to own one. Not worth it. Dpad is mushy, triggers are awful. Face buttons were also mushy.
This.

It's a good controller, but I wouldn't use it as a replacement for the pro.
It's a SNES controller absolutely nothing like the pro controller, the joysticks are for show

The dpad on the switch pro is atrocious and borderline unuseable.
Then get one of these bad boys.

That was my first choice but my only issue is no rumble.
Does it have a headphones jack

there she is

Why are you asking me? How would I know?

I have 3 and they are all good.
I've heard these can handle a lot of pressure.
>under rated?
>more like under sea rated
epic!!!!!

8bitdo controllers are notoriously shit. Don't bother.
>[opposite of reality]
i've had an sn30 pro+ for 3 years and it's been great
maybe some people have bad experiences but not everyone.

I don't like how light the triggers are and it can be a c**t when connecting sometimes, but otherwise it's fine.
this is probably the best third party controller on the market, so yes
