Pretty good but you need to have a specific mindsted to enjoy them. Its basically a comfy adventure that can devolve into hysteria induced by micromanagement.
Both are equally good. The wii pointer feels like a dream, however the games are balanced around the GC’s controls where you can only throw pikmin a relatively short length in front of you.
All 3 of them are good. You can have your own opinions about which is better than what.
Anyone who says any game is the trilogy is bad is not an actual fan of the series. Simple as.
In general it's a good series, however 2 is a horrible rehash of 1. They should have waited longer before making 2, and put more effort into making it. 1 and 3 are fantastic games though, and I'm sure 4 will be good too
>Hopes
Go with 1's and 3's world and level design.
Make a separate and extensive challenge mode akin to 2's caves. >expectations
Bullshit DLC and tacked on NSO features. >concerns
Even more handholdy and full of tutorials than 3.
That it ends up being too short. I do think that quality > quantity but 3 was just so unforgivably short.
Story, characters, and the treasures you find are the least interesting.
>Story, characters
Honestly, I don't care about these. >treasures
Yeah, those were pretty lame, 1's and 2's were much more interesting and fun to collect.
No, they aren't. The placement of collectibles is random meaning there are never in any interesting places while the collectibles in the overworld have plenty of thought put into them.
I played a demo of 3 and I loved it. I was surprised. Never had any interest prior. I’ll probably get 3 tonight and beat it. They need to stop being Black folk and port 1+2 to Switch.
>1
good for its time. still good today. simple but enjoyable experience >2
polished from 1 and overall even better. caves can be repetitive/autistic but the game is overall fun. >3
easier but comfy
I've only played a bit of Pikmin 3 but I dropped it at some weird caterpillar boss or something
Pikmin fans are bros though and I'm happy for them finally getting 4
Only the second game
Just bought the first one today, never played before
all 3 of the games are great, so yes
I only played 3 and it was one of my most comfiest gaming
Yeah. Only bought 3 because there was nothing else on Wii U and ended up loving it, despite having very high standards.
Currently playing the original on Dolphin and the music is insane.
Easily one of Nintendo's best IPs.
>Miyamoto action adventure
Have a guess
Also:
If you like these games, check out Little King's Story on Wii/Dolphin emulator. Avoid the Stream version at all cost, though
Yeh
same time yes mind
yes 🙂
Short and boring games
A+ series
1 and 3 are good. 2 was ruined because they decided to pad it out with boring procedurally generated caves.
Reddit moment
One of the greats
Which version is superior for pikmin 1/2?
Pretty good but you need to have a specific mindsted to enjoy them. Its basically a comfy adventure that can devolve into hysteria induced by micromanagement.
iirc, the Wii has the superior control.
Wii version, although I've played on Gamecube just fine
easier but still a fun time
Play the Wii version in Dolphin with a Wii controller
GC
Both are equally good. The wii pointer feels like a dream, however the games are balanced around the GC’s controls where you can only throw pikmin a relatively short length in front of you.
I Have only played 1 and 2, how does 3 compare to them?
All 3 of them are good. You can have your own opinions about which is better than what.

Hopes, expectations, and concerns?
I don't want to manage 4 captains, please go back to 2.
Pikmin 1 & 2 are Package Deal.
Pikmin 3 feels like a few steps forward and a few back. Overall fantastic games though.
>Hoping for 2 captains and co-op story
>More enemy variety
>4 or 3 captains again, no thanks
I don't like the timer :'(
I only played the first game and like 20 minutes of the second.
The timer is really just there for aesthetics. Even going in totally blind, 30 days is more than enough to beat the game comfortably.
Online ranked Bingo Battle.
It could happen. Nintendo wants to push their online service.
But Nintendo's online service lacks basic features that Microsoft's had during the OG Xbox era.
I didn't say the service wasn't a piece of shit.

I always assumed Pikmin took place on some kind of post-post apocalypse Earth for some reason. These screenshots undermine that belief.
They are all really good
i liked the first and second game. first game more. you either love or hate the dungeon crawling in two.
All great games, 2 is the best even though it’s more of a dungeon crawler than an RTS
>it’s more of a dungeon crawler than an RTS
You say that like it's a bad thing.
Considering the dungeons looks like this and the RTS areas contain hand crafted puzzles and level design... yea it's pretty fricking bad.
The caves were also hand crafted, though.
Some of them were, others are different sections of premade land that are RNG'd together
No, they aren't. The placement of collectibles is random meaning there are never in any interesting places while the collectibles in the overworld have plenty of thought put into them.

It is tbh I didn't play pikmin to leave my pikmin in a corner and punch enemies to death and then collect the loot completely puzzle free
>play the game in the most tedious way to play possible
>it's the game's fault
There's no reason not to, you can't restock pikmin and there's no time limit in the caves so it may as well be asking you to do so.
>play pikmin
>don't use the pikmin
do you not jump when playing mario too
or use the sword in zelda
or inhale things in kirby
If they gave me a reason that it was the actively worse method then yeah sure.
There is really no reason to do that. If you frick up a floor you can just reset the game because it saves between floors
Best vidya series out there
I played a demo of 3 and I loved it. I was surprised. Never had any interest prior. I’ll probably get 3 tonight and beat it. They need to stop being Black folk and port 1+2 to Switch.
So thoughts on the original pikmin changing different hues when unequipped?
I thought that Pikmin 3 was a Wii U game.
And it was, but they ported to the switch, like all the important WiiU games, with like some extra bonus levels but its pretty much the same game.
when I bought MK8 for the Wii U I got Pikmin 3 for free, but never tried it
that was a good frickin deal. all you had to do was register it on club nintendo and you got a free game
>MK8 first came out in 2014
>Wii U released in 2012
It was that much of a failure only two years in? Goddamn
Yeah it was. We used to have threads on how to save the Wii U from day one. It never really got better.
Yeah. It's one of my favourite series, all 3 games are solid although I'm not a fan of the direction they went for in 3.
The frick is her problem?
High IQ
Maybe?
I don't remember this, is it a new addition for the Switch version?
Yeah.
Kinda lame that most of Olimar and Louie's logs are recycled from 2 but they still have some good ones.
>Brittany is an alien fujo
>implying Plasm Wraith is the bull
what the FRICK Brittany
>modern Nintendo of America allowed her to have dumb bimbo thoughts and talk about basically being naked
Wait, are they based now?
>1
good for its time. still good today. simple but enjoyable experience

I'm playing the first game right now and it's pretty fun.
The best

Sexmin
Anyone else miss the eerie atmosphere from the first game?
I've only played a bit of Pikmin 3 but I dropped it at some weird caterpillar boss or something
Pikmin fans are bros though and I'm happy for them finally getting 4
Quick, tell me your favorite and least favorite creature in the series.
Which is he?
It's an RTS for babbies
Of course tendies love it
genres often improve when they make a debut on consoles
it happened with the FPS (Metroid Prime, TimeSplitters 2) and it happened here too
Pikmin is the only game series that my favorite changes depending on the day.
All 3 do different things the best and the worst.
What does 3 do the worst?
Story, characters, and the treasures you find are the least interesting.
Bring him back
