I like the concept and like other anon said it's fun, but I feel like every run boils down to finding one of the joker that scales and then finding as many effect that multiplies the multiplier while you try to turn your deck into only having cards of one suit and rank
Yeah it's pretty nice but I'm finding it's best played in shorter sessions, if you play it for too long it starts to feel quite samey.
Plus like every game like this you can also get a lot of runs where things go great until suddenly about 3/4 in your realise your deck is objectively unable to meet the rising score threshold.

There's +hand space vouchers and hand space joker, which I think was one of the negatives.
Skipping for negative tags, traded -1 hand size for a negative from spectral pack (I lucked out and it hit the legendary iirc) and found a couple in the shops from rerolling.
You get crazy econ early then go for exponential multipliers. So glass, polychrome, etc. If you wanna hit 14+ you have to get a red marker on a glass or polychrome card and copy it 5+ times with the DNA Joker or Death tarot cards (with Fool to copy Death). You also obviously want the scaling Jokers, like the one that gives you base mult for Tarot cards played and the one that gives you 0.1x exponential multiplier for every planet played. Only planet that matters to this build is Eris (Flush Five) but you still take most planets.

I get it's the whole "muh roguelike" shtick but I honestly hate some of the boss blinds straight up being "sorry you lose". I had one last night that just made every card you drew be drawn face down, essentially reducing it to pure RNG, which felt pretty fricking ass considering I had a great deck going right up to that point.
There's two ways to go about the boss, either have your deck to a point where you know exactly what the face down cards are or save discards for after you play a hand to get rid of the face down cards.
If you sort by suit and rank sometimes you can deduct what the face down cards are (ex. If you sort by suit and some face down cards end between 2 cards of the same suit, that means those cards are of that suit)
That one's bearable, hell doing a flush build and getting most of your cards debuffed is recoverable
Now that fricking homosexual that permanently reduces the level of your hand? That one can go to hell, even after they nerfed it
shit like that is the reason why I dont like making a build around one hand. Its nice to have a pocket High Card in tight situations.

It's very simple very fun. It's worth like 10 bucks. It's comfy but doesn't have a whole lot of depth
Honestly purple stake and above is where the game stops being fun. It's still beatable, but from that point it's at the level where you need a really good run but even then will instantly lose with one bad boss rng roll or one really bad hand rng roll. It only feels fair with completely busted decks like checkered and maybe plasma
More challenges could be great value, or a high score/ranking system for them. Otherwise, I don’t want more, and I'd rather the dev moves on to something else.

Yohane lacks a label as to which characters are which, I am not watching love live just to do their quests. And really sparse options menu. And forgot speed up options. And has garbage metaprogression that makes runs easier. And even more garbage "pay to boost just the next run" purchases like I'm simulating freemium garbage.

Basically I discard in other to get either a straight or a full house and that's the extent of strategy in play. Can't do much with jokers because of the low maximum. Boosting cards is weird because it requires a build in mind but then boosts are too infrequent to really change anything. What am I missing so far inb4 besides ur brain lol

I think it's just good thinking what you'll get from a fight (cash, do you have upgradable jokers? how badly do you want to see a shop?) and comparing it to the skip rewards. It's not that complex.
I almost always skip the blind if it gives you the tag that makes the next set of cards and packa in the shop free.

The -1 hand per round means that you get frickall money to actually buy any jokers to fill the 6 slots, so I ultimately end up just hitting New Run over and over as I keep getting hosed.
You have to fix your econ early with an econ Joker. Once you get past the early game Hands barely matter outside of the Money since you usually one shot or don't win at all.
Tell me how to use the stencil joker. It gives big mults but without jokers to boost chips or give you some initial mult to multiply it seems kinda shit.
pick up other Jokers until you've heavily upgraded your cards. X3+a couple +chips or +mults is a lot better than X5+frick all

If you don't get some good +mult jokers by ante 2 in gold stakes, you're fricked. And you can't even afford them if you don't reroll a hundred times to get good tags in ante 1.
It doesn't feel skill based because unlike slay the spire, there aren't actually good decisions to make. Often it is simply impossible.
It's almost 7am and I've been playing Balatro all night, how the frick do I win with the black deck, I've won with red/blue/yellow/green/nebula/abandoned but I can't get this c**t to work. I always choke before the third ante, I just can't build hands worth shit with the hand reduction. I try aggressively discarding, I try spacing out my discards while using mediocre hands, I try playing shit hands like pairs and high card while saving my discards for the final hand. All bunk.
I don't even want to play this deck, I just want the checkered deck for flush memes. The idea of an extra Joker slot seems fun, but whatever the first Joker that turns up in the shop is usually doesn't help at all, and by the time I lose I'm still 2-3 Jokers away from using that extra slot anyways.
Get a money joker and then try to build a one shot one kill deck.
I've beaten the first three stakes with black, it's not that big an issue.
As mentioned all good builds one-shot anyway. And an extra joker makes that a lot easier.
As always, you should desperately hunt for multi (or good +chips) in antes 1-2. Leftover discards don't pay you, so be aggressive with them. Nothing particularly special.
who has unlocked the erratic deck for beating orange stake? is it any good? i played it for a little while and beat green stake with it, but its far less wacky than i was hoping for.
It's a fun deck. Because you end up with lots of different rank cards, it's good for full house, 3/4/5 of a kind builds.
Damn it really heats up at green stake. Beat red stake with all the basic decks (except black) and now onto green but it's a different beast
