Kotor 1 has aged better than Kotor 2 imo but the gameplay for both is pretty fricking boring. Still a decent RPG.

I disagree. Kotor 1 is much worse than Kotor 2, but both games are good.

It's like a typical old Bioware game with D&D based combat but the simplest form possible, you can queue up multiple actions at the same and watch them go. Fully voice acted npcs and silent protagonist like Dragon Age with plenty of dialogue choices.

    Seems legit.

It is. There is a point of no return in the game. Yes you can. Yes if you go full lesbo.

I will say that Kotor 2 feels confusing at first though.

It's good. It's your average ~you're the chosen one and meets companions whom goes on a journey with you to stop the bad guys~ kind of RPG.

I prefer KOTOR 2 for the story though.

It's really good but it is more focused and linear than modern RPGs. No LGBTQ moments. No romance scenes but you can romance characters. KOTOR 1 and 2 are very good at capturing the feeling of adventure that most games miss the mark on.

These games are somewhat infamous for their long tutorial phases so the first planet may feel like a drag but once you get past it the game really opens up and gets better.

There will come a point where you get the choice of 4 locations to look for a certain objective. You can do these in any order but a common recommended order is T, Ka, M and then Ko. Be warned that once you complete 3 of these you will hit a point of no return so try to finish as many side quests before then. You can cheese it though by just not activating the objective at the end of one of the paths, Ka is the best for this.

Finally, make sure you buy the combat droid when you find the droid shop as it gets you one of the best characters in the game.

Good storytelling, dated combat. Best usage of the Star Wars setting.

    Yeah, overload any computer system.

Just drop it. The combat sucks. Its one of those games like Baldurs Gate and Morrowind and Planescape Torment where storygays try to pretend their shitty stories can excuse absolutely garbage gameplay.

I'm playing Kotor 2 right now, does anyone remember if I use the Permacrete Detonator on the door in Korriban does that mean I can't use it on Dxun?

I'm pretty sure this is the case.
Korriban door IIRC doesn't even have anything behind it unless Revan was DS.

You can't have sex but you can give Bastilla a peck on the cheek (obviously it fades to black so children aren't scarred for life)

Yes it's incredible and whatever you do do not play Kotor 2. And don't forget to put points into strength or your first few hours are going to suck

i think points in dex will let you hit enemies with melee weapons in kotor 1 (as long as its higher than strength), it just doesn't add to your damage like strength does

as long as you avoid dual wielding before you have the master two weapon fighting feat you should be good
