Is this as good as they say it is? I have a sealed Nintendo Selects copy I was intending on playing, might crack it open and giver a spin.

i had fun
I think I played a few levels. Ok for a Nintendo game. I've only completed SMB and Odyssey.
>keeping games sealed instead of playing them
moron
One of my favorite games of all time.
It’s definitely a game that should be experienced by everyone due to how unique it is.
Bretty gud. If you enjoy it definitely check out the sequel.
I have a sealed copy of that too, maybe it's time to play them.
its very linear and the camera sucks due to 3d movement on planets and the camera being locked for no reason sometimes.
the hub world in galaxy 1 has soul, but galaxy 2 has better levels.
>look at the title of the game. the letters that have sparkles spell out a secret message
>very linear
Meme complaint
Its a 3d mario thats not fun to control
It might he good if you havent played 64 or sunshine
Otherwise its dogshit
Cool idea tho
its good but I found the galaxy games to be too easy. I know theyre games for kids, but I would occasionally get my ass kicked in 64 or sunshine every few levels. The focus is less on platforming, which Im not crazy about
I watched this and it looks like it gets really hard toward the end.
It doesnt.
Its even more tedious than blue coins since green stars cant be collected before you beat the game and they boot you out of levels
Homing ground pound is op
And it never gets difficult
I can foresee limiting my health bar to 3 or even 1 hit filtering the crap out of me.
There are maybe 3 or 4 levels that might take a handful of tries in each game. They're not even remotely close to being difficult games.
Still really enjoyable
>The focus is less on platforming
You've never played Galaxy 2.
easily my favorite mario and better than SMG2 even though the later is chilled as superior
SMG has both godtier gameplay but also godtier story, it's so fricking intense
>tfw all lumas getting genocided in the end
>Smg
>Godtier gameplay
>Mario moves like he has cement shoes
>No momentum outside of planetoids
>Waggle shit
>Pointing at screen shit
>Dragging / blowing / standing on a ball levels
>Mario moves 35% the speed he should
>Most moves are useless
Yeah...
yes it is a slower paced 3d mario game, this is part of why it is good
>sealed Nintendo Selects copy
Might as well open it, that's never gonna be worth anything.
I didn't get it or leave it sealed to have a collectible lol, I have a bunch of unopened games, and a bunch of games I've only put 20 minutes into tops. There's so many games to play, bros.
It's very fun the first time but it's not good to replay, especially for a mario game. Mechanics are level-centric with the gimmicks of a galaxy being what makes it fun. Mario isn't that athletic this time around, his gimmick is a spin attack that works as an extension to other gimmicks and a double jump but he's not nearly as fun to control as he was in 64/Sunshine.
Galaxy 2 fixes this by having a good blend of character-centric gimmicks with interesting power ups while keeping good levels as well.
I love it, and it's many people's favorite 3D Mario. Over the years though it's shown to not be some people's type of game due to how unique the Console and Game itself is. I do really think you should give it a try though 🙂
My least favorite 3D Mario by far. Moves like molasses, lowest number of movement options, noting strings with anything else, no commitment to jumps, and more.
For me, I put Galaxy 1 under Galaxy 2 just because I find myself wanting to replay Galaxy 2 more than Galaxy 1. That said, the first game is still fantastic. It's fun to play, both games have amazing soundtracks, and while Mario 64 is still my favorite of the 3D Mario games, Galaxy 2 and Galaxy 1 are my 2nd and 3rd favorite ones.
I don’t get what people see in Galaxy 2. 2/3 of the levels are mid and it has a lot less of of what made Galaxy unique in the first place… all for some pseudo-2D shit that is not suited to the controls,
Yes but it’s ridiculously easy
It's genuinely a masterpiece.
There’s still nothing really like it. It’s a must-play.
I got bored after two or so hours personally
It's great. But like other anons are saying, it's very easy. I barely ever died when I played through it recently and ended up with 99 lives at the end of each session.
It's an incredibly fun game though with the best soundtrack Nintendo's ever made.
I really don't like how Mario controls in this game. His running startup is like he's on an oily surface so in confined space you don't get the acceleration for a triple jump or side flip you're stuck with backflip and hoping spin jump doesnt hit a wall and cut short making you unable to grab a ledge. Speedrunning this game must be so restricting.
Galaxy 2 is better, but even then the first Galaxy is still amazing
