is this game supposed to be fricking impossible to play for a boomer who sucks at video games? I'm about to rage quit this shit
is this game supposed to be fricking impossible to play for a boomer who sucks at video games? I'm about to rage quit this shit
>filtered by kraid
literally how
if you weren't filtered by corpius you should be able to beat kraid
Corpius took me around 30 attempts but at least there isn't a billion projectiles to dodge all the time. I didn't expect this to be so fricking hard.
>dodge
Shoot them dipshit. They are destructible and give health and missiles .
Did you forget that was a thing in every Kraid fight?
bro you know you can destroy them for pickups right
>Corpius took me around 30 attempts
Yeah you're fricked.
Games become a lot harder as you progress.
T. currently wienerblocked by this mofo.
this guy is easy as hell if you shinespark him during phase 2
>spoiler
FRICK I KNEW THAT EMPTY WINDTUNNEL AFTER THE BULLETHELL HAD A PURPOSE
still beat him though
>Dodge
Dude fricking shot the nails and balls, you literally regain more hp than you can lose
git gud
havent played it btw, fpbp, /thread, checkem
it's only hard if you don't expect it to be hard and play carelessly
focus on avoiding damage more than dealing damage, shoot his projectiles instead of dodging them
Keep at it and learn the patterns of his attacks. The later bosses get much harder.
>run around and jump while shooting his projectiles for free ammo and health
>missile his mouth while standing completely stationary
>phase 2
>charge shot his projectiles
>jump over the poison ball
>jump up the spikes
>spam missles
if you died more than twice to kraid, you're just dumb.
t. 30 year old that grew up on castlevania, contra, and mega man.
This is b8.
There is no Metroid game that is actually hard.
It's the opposite, your legacy boomer knowledge should give you an advantage
>op fishes for a bait webm
cool thread. Anyway, anyone else do the early grapple beam and morph ball bomb and beat Kraid with it?
Find this room and bomb the corner to open up the shortcut. You can jump out of a slide so wall jump up to the ledge and roll right.
Thanks, I somehow missed this twice.
Problem solve. That's all life is about. Take a break, evaluate the objective and figure out what you're doing wrong with the options available to you.
>took me like a whole day to beat O&S on my first Dark Souls playthrough
Meh, that's probably normal
Boomer here. Finished it 100% in 8 hours. Literally don't get why people have trouble with this one.
It's pretty easy to move out the way of the flame while still spamming shots. You can also sometimes just aim straight for the mouth with missiles and cover quite a few of the projectiles. The bone nails and belly balls can be destroyed with multiple regular shots from what I recall. Dodge the triple spikey blast with morph; time the staggered spikey blast to jump up on to them before they puncture the wall. Prioritize getting the counter.
Took me like 20 tries but I beat it.
This game is full of casual-filters so I don't expect the average Boomer/Zoomer to be able to beat it.
>none of the bosses are hard
>the EMMI is basically a non-issue and may as well not exist
>checkpoints out the ass so you can immediately retry
>the game basically forces you onto the right path 90% of the time
And yet people are still having issues. Just how much easier do games need to be for some of you?
>>none of the bosses are hard
That's just untrue.
>>checkpoints out the ass so you can immediately retry
I wonder how much my game experience was actually affected by how I didn't use a single checkpoint. I am pretty sure it improved my overall experience a fair bit but I don't know.
I was worried that retries might have added to the in-game counter or that they in the game might have even had a death counter.
So I just reloaded from the last save every time. Save rooms are really frequent in the game anyway.
Honestly. The check points do make the game worse. I kind of wish the check points weren't a thing in hardmode at least.
And the EMMI rooms, while I agree are basically a non-issue, were actually a bit scary when you knew that getting caught could send you back further than the EMMI room entrance.
>I was worried that retries might have added to the in-game counter or that they in the game might have even had a death counter.
>So I just reloaded from the last save every time
wow. an actual moron
>tedium made it better
god damn
the last boss took me 2 hours and I've beaten every other 2d metroid, it would of took an hour if I had learnt later super bombs kill the sun ball.
I felt it was pretty fun how hard they've made this to the other games that handhold you all the way though
I don't understand why everyone says this game is so hard. I beat it last night and I died to a couple of bosses one time and the final boss like two times.
Didn't even know you could do that, that's cool. I just dodged the attacks though, its not THAT hard.
Yeah previous games you could brute force most bosses without worrying about health, but you have to try to dodge in dread. I like it.
I don't. It can't even really be called a dodge without iframes.
I went into all the metroid games blind so I could imagine there is tonnes of crazy skips and 10 minute speedruns
I wouldn't say they are "hard", but they can definitely be frustrating if you don't get the patterns down. I have never felt like bosses pulled some RNG bullshit or one shot me out of the blue, they always have the same phases, highly readable tells, and patterns. Some require quick reflexes but nothing has been twitch heavy so far. the quick checkpoints are necessary due to the high amount of deaths every player will have trying to play through the game. I have a feeling there would be a lot more crying about "artificial difficulty" and "unfair bullshit" if they didn't have the checkpoints.
lmao I just got to kraid too and noped out of there. need more energy
I was nearly filtered by the lava core dude. I legit spent an hour or more.
The first time robot chozo showed up I thought it was a parry puzzle and not just missile it to death. I think they're bad at showing when you're actually hurting bosses in this game.
Protip: if it's not fun stop. You are getting memed hard. This is a twitchy action game with a metroid skin on it.
Metroid has always been a challenging action game series. Nintendo even labels Metroid as action games. Just because there's platforming and exploration with a brooding atmosphere doesn't mean it's not mainly an action game when you're shooting things 90% of the time.
Zero mission is fast as frick
>Yeah dude just sequence break and constantly do frame perfect shinesparks and the game is super fast!
You may want to go to the doctor, OP. There is a high possibility you have severe brain damage.
Why do people keep posting this clip? The player undoubtedly died on the next phase.
>Why do people keep posting this clip?
The clip is literally slowed down to make the game look worse.
It's a shitposter(s) that keeps forcing it. Why do you think they keep posting it?
how the frick do you get filtered by kraid? is this a bait post or are you literally down syndrome
to be fair, kraid requires the most actual dodging in the game up to that point
if you don't have your bob and weave on point yet, it takes getting used to
especially in stage 2 on that tiny platform
I died once then literally destroyed him
Such an easy fight lmao
Spam rockets while destroying his toenails, and only use charge shots to his belly
Keep going anon, never give up!
I wish the white/light blue suit stayed around longer
It dominated the official art and is dominating fan art too.
>boomer
>can't play metroid
cavemans aren't boomers. That said, let me highlight the fact that Kraid gets to abortion punch samus if she dangles in the grapple tile for too long in the second phase. That feels great after jobbing hard for all these decades.
In the second phase, you can just stand and shoot stuff he throws at you to recover your energy.
When it's full, go up and deal some damage, then go back down and heal again.
Why do they recycle the same bosses over and over?
Ridley isn't in this one. I think Kraid is the only returning boss and his attacks are changed up from the usual fights.
As someone who's never played Metroid before, should I get this game?
I love the genre but never really actually played Metroid itself. Am I missing out on story/will that kill my enjoyment?
