It's not woke, it just sucks. The first act aesthetics are neat but the card game itself is terrible. It's insultingly easy and impossible to lose. I cleared 2 grizzly walls on my very first time playing blind. Each later chapter has even easier deck building mechanics than the last. The result is a boring visual novel/point and click with time wasting card battling segments with zero threat of losing. The narrative and meta narrative are cringe as all hell and stupid. Shit game do not play.

Act 1 is pretty great but it loses all steam and the creepy setting and tension go away with all the meta/live action stuff.
The game spends the rest of it's time trying to recapture the atmosphere of act 1 but we only get glimpse of it at the end.
I just didn't care for the weird meta story about nazi AI code or whatever it was trying to say.
It's secretly a creepypasta about a haunted video game. The gameplay is fun though.

Played the demo and it was pretty atmospheric. Seemed clear to me that it wasn't a serious deckbuilding game and you're supposed to get better cards as you go along and eventually win your games easier. Not sure what happens after the demo cuts off though.
its kind of impossible to talk about the game at length without spoiling but ill say that its not a game you play looking for a serious deckbuilder, its definitely more about atmosphere and using the game to tell a story, kind of like how subnautica isnt really a survival crafting basebuilding game

It’s not woke because it put me to sleep half the time I was playing it. It’s just not an interesting or fun game. The card game is serviceable in the first act but becomes insanely boring in act 2 and not much better in act 3. The story is, quite frankly, the most Reddit thing I’ve ever seen and I feel embarrassed for whoever wrote that slop (and the homosexual who acted in the FMV scenes). If you’re looking for a card game, play Slay the Spire, Balatro, Monster Train……just not this garbage heap.
