what are some games that are similar to it on pc
i need something to help me scratch that submarine exploration itch that these two left in me, especially considering they never made a third one
Beyond Blue is ok, but it's more of a walking simulator (swimming simulator?) than anything. It's linear and pretty story-focused as well as being kindasorta edutainment.

is this good
EO1 and EO2 are both good games, though EO2 definitely has more staying power than EO1. Way more stuff to do (for better or worse). I'm in the middle of replaying it right now, and the only real complaint I have is that grinding out a million dollars to regain access to the final map takes fricking eons, unless I'm missing a get-rich-quick scheme. Also the OST in EO1 is better, but EO2's is still good.
Review scores don't mean all that much unless the game is actually broken and unplayable from a mechanical perspective. If you had fun, then it's a fun game worth recommending.
I'm in love with ocean/diving games and I played them all. Cool stuff out there, but nothing comes close to Arika games, named:
Everblue
Everblue 2
Endless Ocean
Endless Ocean 2
I never played the first one, but Blue World was fricking great. One of my favorite first party titles on the Wii
I’ll forever be annoyed Nintendo had Arika work on those lame 99 games instead of commissioning a third game from them for the Switch. Maybe the Switch 2 will have it, when it’s already on its deathbed or something.
Top tier comfy t b h. The sequel is pretty good too.
Endless Ocean and Pilotwings 64 are two games the likes of which I yearn for in the modern age, but the only way to do that at this point is to make them yourself sadly.
>After 18 years, people are finally starting to like the Wii, see what I saw in it, and like the games I used to get shit on for liking for almost 2 decades
You all have no idea how happy this feeling makes me.
All it took was contemporary gaming to be so utter dogshit across the board that people yearn for anything older, regardless of whether they experienced it or not.
I fricking hate that these are motion controls only. Tried with my wiimote and it's annoying as frick to play. Tried using a controller through Dolphin and it was even more annoying even with fine-tuned settings. The game environment is kino though.

You can play EO2 with a classic controller, though honestly I prefer using just a Wiimote. It adds to the floaty feeling of being underwater and not having absolute control 100% of the time.

Deep Diving Adventure (or I guess Deep Diving Simulator on PC) is an alright time. It doesn't have the atmosphere of the EO games, but if you want to swim around collecting things and healing/fending off fish for a few hours, it's enjoyable enough.
I guess there's also Dave the Diver, though that has a lot more going on than just swimming around underwater.
Which one? Aquanaut’s Holiday or B.L.U.E. Legend of Water?
I played the latter sometime ago hoping it would scratch the same itch, but something about it didn’t click with me. Really liked how it looked, though.
I've been playing EO 1 in short bursts over the past few weeks. Playing with just a Wiimote is so comfy, I miss this era of gaming. I got it cheap in a buy 1 get 2 free bin of unwanted Wii games, might go back and see if they have Blue World.
this was a great game
it's more of an experience than a game. if you like the aquatic life then you like this game.
gay opinion but I always wish games like this or fishing games delve into more eldritch shit or deepwater spookies
>eldritch shit or deepwater spookies
i dont want that 🙁
Remasters when?
i don't know if good is the right word for it
Yes but the sequel is a lot better in my opinion.
It's peak comfy game. Sequel is in parts better but isn't as comfy as the first one.
A game like this would be called boring and bland now. You need to make up your own mind on this one. I liked it
yes
best unintentional horror game ever made
i remember pic rel scaring the frick out of me when I was a kid

Subnautica and Blacknautica: DAS RITE Edition are about your only options really
is beyond blue any good?
looks interesting but idk yet

Just use an emulator.
Check out the Everblue games. Made by the same devs before they made Endless Ocean
also check out fishing resort on the wii. it's a good game if you don't just play one vidya at a time, something you play every other day or so.
looks neat. river king is another i want to try.
nvm it got bad reviews. maybe the ds one is better

You should never take the word of gaming journalists, especially when it comes to nicher games like this.
That said, I do remember that game being kinda meh. Give the GBC games a try.
Can it be played without motion controls or at least the fishing accessory?

these are god tier, too
snack:
Mysteries Under Lake Ophelia
No, too much water
*slap* HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Don't worry, I'm here all day.

30fps ugly ass simulator of real life. It's not good. Go outside.

Wii had an outstanding library of games, but it couldn't get any coverage because all the mags and bloggers were dickriding the ps3/360 all day long.
I have over 120 Wii games (actual games, not ROMs). Shit was so cash.
its one of the many games that starved wiitards shilled endlessly. also see the conduit.
Worth skipping the first?
There’s pretty much no connection between the first game and the sequel so go ahead.
play both
i played eo blue world as a kid. i liked it a lot
Yes it's pure kino
This one looks cool too

Oh also the music is surprisingly good.
but you can play with a gamecube controller just fine
The first one ? I played 2 and I'm pretty sure controllers are not supported.
they defiantly are available on 2
i was playing it a while ago with an xbone controller and it was emulating a gamecube controller
Thanks i guess ill give it a go

idk if this is in any way similar to that diving ps1 game, but it had a really good OST and seemed comfy as frick

iirc it was diver's dream
haven't played it tho

Why does japan make the best ocean themed games i wonder why america never really touched on that genre too much
vidya water 😀
Yes.
no.
