>Descendant of a mythical hero >Granddaughter of a famous adventurer >Only child of famous Indigo students >Has a literal magic pendant that only works for her (so far) >Black Rayquaza wants to be with her since she's related to its trainer
Yeah, no. Shudo hated Ash when he was a total loser with nothing special back in OS because he was a kid hero after Momo's flop he ended up salty as frick, Liko with how special she is from the beginning would trigger him harder, suits or no suits.
Yes. It's clearly made by a group of people who have no experience writing narrative-driven content. After 20 years of episodic stories, all they know how to do to tell a serialized story is spin their fricking wheels.
they're spinning their wheels with nothingburgers because the anime is stalling for time until indigo disk releases so it can get the plot rolling. like an anime that had caught up to the manga and needs to dump filler

None of you get it, this series need to run for 3 years and they are using Terapagos's secret as the selling point, However everything related to Terapagos will be revealed on next month so nobody need to follow Liko & Roy's journey to learn Terapagos's secret since they already know from the game. Just like we did not needed a GS Ball arc to learn the GS Ball's secret since we already know from the game that it suppose to have a Celebii.
The very idea of watching this series for 3 years to learn how awesome & cool Lucius was compare to everybody and Liko is special by being related to him makes me feel repulsive.
Trash and boring as frick, at least Ash and TRio despite being moronic knew what they wanted and tried to get it with their own hands.
Liko? She gets things handed to her way more than Ash, and even he took years for that, while being a super special girl with an even more special bloodline >B-but she's shy!!
That's fine bro, I guess they can self-insert more as shy little girls than outgoing boys.
[...] >which treats Pokemon as "gadgets" so as to put more focus on the humans, nah. Makes Pokemon World feel "lifeless".
But that's what PokeSpe does and last I heard that shit is way more popular than Ash's anime ever was
>But that's what PokeSpe does and last I heard that shit is way more popular than Ash's anime ever was
Wrong again
PokeSpe never reached the popularity of Ashnime. It never in the chart of high selling manga or won any award. Most people does not even know about PokeSpe without being a hardcore Pokemon fan.
Changing Pokemon Anime from episodic (Ashnime) to be plot based (Horizons) which treats Pokemon as "gadgets" so as to put more focus on the humans, nah. Makes Pokemon World feel "lifeless".
Also I wouldn't want this plot based Series to last more than 100 episodes, otherwise it is going to get boring & a pain to watch.
>focus too much Pokemon and you end up with bland human characters (mainline games, pre-horizons anime) >focus too much on humans and you end up with a lifeless world with very little lore (most spinoffs, PokeSpe, Pokemon Horizons, that one live action movie)
How do we balance focus on humans and pokemon?
The humans should develop their skills & personality alongside their Pokemon (although Pokemon should always have a slight edge over humans as the main focus to sell games)

What the anime going to do next? Reveal Lucius to be evil who tried to use Terapagos to destroy the world and Diana is following his footstep while The Rising Volt Tackler are petty criminals doing crime which is why they keep avoiding the police and The Explorers are the good guy who stopped Lucius in the past and now trying to stop Diana.

Everytime.
>Constant talking and standing around, nothing ever really happens, and when something DOES happen it still somehow feels like nothing. >Huge main cast that is barely developed at all >Barely any of the pokemon have any personality or do anything because it focuses too heavily on the human OCs
Fricking monkey's paw show. Good that the Ash anime is finally fricking dead, but for fricks sake, something actually GOOD taking it's place would have been nice. I wanted to like this so bad, but it's a total wet fart.
I feel that the Pokemon anime is now currently boring & a snooze fest to watch once you replace episodic (that was prevalent in the Ashnime) with plot (Horizons).
I seriously don't even know what the frick is going on here if I missed an episode in Horizons, given that it is plot based.
The Ashnime, in general, even if you missed an episode, you don't have to know much & worry about what happened previously.
Nah, frick that, the idea of a plot driven pokemon anime is a fricking awesome idea. The problem is nothing is really happening and the characters and pokemon are mostly shallow.
I watch for Liko's legs
I barely pay attention to the episode's plot. If I get close up shots of Liko's legs I'm good.
The only exception to this was Nemona's episode where it was actually a good episode. It didn't have good shots of Liko but the episode itself was fun to watch.
Good Team (Volteccers) vs Evil Team (Explorers) plot is kind of boring for a Pokemon Anime which isn't tailored for that. It's literally the same thing I saw in Super Sentai & it fared better in it's plot, plus it ends around at the 50 plus episodes.
Ash & his friends do not see the need to name their group just to defeat Team Rocket (TRio) because it is comical in a sense anyway. It's usually fun to watch TRio to get blasted off by them (except early BW).
On the other hand, Explorers running away/self destruct (which Sango did using her Glalie) instead of doing the comical blast off after they lost to Volteccers comes off as cringe to me. Also I don't see the need for Liko & her friends to name their group just to be a "force to be reckoned with" as it simply just the Pokemon Anime version of Super Sentai.
If OLM wanted Pokemon to be Super Sentai then the last thing they should have done is replacing Ash with two inexperienced protagonist too underleveled to fight the villains.
Really I like the characters btu I could care less for the story. Liko/Roy/Dot just goofing off, going on adventures with their Pokemon? I'll take that. I hate the idea of even agreeing with Famon but the Lucius plot to me feels like a reason to just make Liko and her family more special, which we don't need.
Yes.
wonder what Shudo would think of it
He wouldn't like it because it's closer to the original concept of Pokemon
He wouldn't like it as Horizons is still ultimately a Pokemon Anime with ideas being influenced by suits at TPC
>Descendant of a mythical hero

Who the frick cares? He's dead for a reason. Dumb druggie
No it has new writers and it SHOWS.

Indigo Disk releases in 6 weeks, that's just 7 episodes counting this week's.
They don't even need to stall until then, they have 7 eps to progress the little ancient Pokéball quest without touching Terapagos' supersecret lore.
None of you get it, this series need to run for 3 years and they are using Terapagos's secret as the selling point, However everything related to Terapagos will be revealed on next month so nobody need to follow Liko & Roy's journey to learn Terapagos's secret since they already know from the game. No one cares about your schizophrenic flameboner for Lucius, Famon.

>which treats Pokemon as "gadgets" so as to put more focus on the humans
That's been a problem throughout the franchise since long before Horizons.
>focus too much Pokemon and you end up with bland human characters (mainline games, pre-horizons anime)
>focus too much on humans and you end up with a lifeless world with very little lore (most spinoffs, PokeSpe, Pokemon Horizons, that one live action movie)
How do we balance focus on humans and pokemon?
The humans should develop their skills & personality alongside their Pokemon (although Pokemon should always have a slight edge over humans as the main focus to sell games)
The games barely focus on the Pokemon outside of battles.
Humans barely get any backstory or deep characterization and almost everything in the lore of the mainline games is tied to Pokemon themselves.
The new anime is trash.
B-but no Ash & Team Rocket
Trash and boring as frick, at least Ash and TRio despite being moronic knew what they wanted and tried to get it with their own hands.

homie what the frick is PokeSpe?
Pokémon Special AKA Pokémon Adventures
>PokeSpe
>more popular
Most normies don't even know Pokemon manga exists.
Team Rocket Trio (Jessie, James, Meowth), despite doing bad things to Ash & his companions "constantly", overall are much better than the Explorers.
The Explorers in general barely interacted outside of fighting with the Volteccers.
Just a little girl show to bait yuriBlack folk. The best parts are when they show the characters from the games.
If you mean the writers, then no, it's a new group, most of which have never worked on Pokemon before.
That's why Horizons is trash
Can you fricking autists let the thread die already?
OP got his answer , Go back to /padt/ for your moronic series wars
What the anime going to do next? Reveal Lucius to be evil who tried to use Terapagos to destroy the world and Diana is following his footstep while The Rising Volt Tackler are petty criminals doing crime which is why they keep avoiding the police and The Explorers are the good guy who stopped Lucius in the past and now trying to stop Diana.

To be fair, it took nearly 12 hours for OP to actually get the correct answer
Make it 3 times by now.
4 Times now. This is severe autism.
No & it sucked ass. Ashnime has better talented writers in general, despite it's flaws.
>Constant talking and standing around, nothing ever really happens, and when something DOES happen it still somehow feels like nothing.
>Huge main cast that is barely developed at all

self inserters are no longer the target audience. bye bye!!
Adults aren't even the target audience so go away with him

>ashnime is good because...because they didn't name their group!!
There isn't really a need for Ash & his friends to name their group.
>likonime is bad because...because they named their group!!
Yes & it sucked because now the anime is literally a lamer version of Super Sentai.
Captcha: Verification not required.
wrong because there is no likodicky nor cool pokemon in super sentai. it's an improved version of both ashnime and tokusatsu.
If OLM wanted Pokemon to be Super Sentai then the last thing they should have done is replacing Ash with two inexperienced protagonist too underleveled to fight the villains.

They quit after XYZ
