S and X are both fantastic. S for small ergonomic cheap emu machine. X is amazing for its backwards compatability, it isn't 100% but it mogs PS5 in every way. I've got a gaming PC now, but I love my series x

First of all... it being the largest leap in Xbox history, let alone all of gaming history, is borderline impossible. It's a console, it's going to be cheap. And you don't get cutting edge hardware in consoles anymore. The tech gap between the OG Xbox and Xbox 360 is simply not going to be surpassed, proportionally. And that's just the hardware aspect. Games? Graphical leaps in games are smaller and smaller. And games are more and more expensive to make, to the point that they're becoming unsustainable, so it is likely the industry will downscale in a few years anyway.

I don't know what's going to happen next generation, but I'm all for another performance race. At this point I'm too invested with my PS library though so not gonna switch to Xbox regardless. If Sony doesn't come out with anything competitive I'll probably just go back to PC and resume my Steam collection instead.

When was building a pc cheaper than buying a console? Back when of xbox came out and was $250 bundled with jsrf/Sega gt, it cost 2k for a pc that powerful.
They want to start selling $150 games.
I personally don't see the point in buying a new system with such a huge leap when the Series X is supposed to be the most powerful console out on the market yet the only things giving my system value are backwards compatible games and lower end games on Game Pass that I otherwise would've put off buying for years
It's also why I'm putting off buying a new PC until my current one dies and why I'm pissed that I'm already also hearing about a PS6.
But we've already known these kinds of announcements especially these days are for investors who know jack shit about the industries they invest in and treat wall street as their casino because they're too rich for Vegas, not for consumers.
