Medium difficulty is completely soloable bugs are easier than the bots though, turn off crossplay I've seen some people saying that helps with getting a lobby with people.

The devs really fricked up their stratagem balancing. The 250kg strike feels infinitely more satisfying to use.
The blast radius is slightly wimpy until you get the ship upgrade for it. 500KG is still great at clearing compunds and killing heavy enemies with good placement

Which is funny because I think the environmental hellbombs have the 'correct' explosion modeling considering how effective they are at killing you out of nowhere during a firefight in the brush.
You can test it out yourself. Drop a 500kg at your feet, literally walk 5 feet from it, and take 0 damage.
Unless it's an ally, then they'll die from it despite being halfway across the map.

Because the gameplay loop is simple. Just look at why games like Destiny 1 & 2, Warframe, and even DRG are so popular. The gameplay is simple, kill the thing and do whatever mission you're supposed to do. It's really not that hard of a concept, anon. As long as the game feels good and is FUN to play itself, it's not a bad game. Even if 'fun' is subjective. They could fix the servers and get rid of the anti-cheat for a better experience, but I doubt they'll do one and not the other. They weren't expecting this many people to play their game, the first one had an all-time peak of 6.7k. They weren't ready for this amount of server load.

There is just nothing else to play. I was actually looking forward to this coming out due to nothing else peaking my interest during the release window. This time of year gaming is all time high and modern release library is all time low. I'm still playing old games in my library instead of modern junk. Everything new lately is a disappointment. Except Armored Core VI of course.
I do think the game is a little too barebones for what it is right now. There's not enough stuff, not enough guns, not enough enemies, not enough armor types. Not enough factions or mission types, not enough ship upgrades or even little brash tactics funny videos.
It feels like they launched a half-game. The other half is coming later, at some point.

remember to shoot Commisars (the sword-gun guys) first so they can't call in reinforcements
it doesn't seem to matter, reinforcements just drop constantly and then i get deathballed
once you start getting overrun, it's extremely difficult to recover. best things to do is:
>stay low around patrols
>do your best to shoot anyone shooting a flare before they finish
>aim good and bring something that can kill devastators quickly
>if you can't kill something quickly shoot off it's gun arm

Its an iteration of the fun gameplay of the original Helldivers and atop that, the monetization isn't shitty so its good if the game succeeds when they've made some very unlike typical corporate decisions evn for a co-op game. Look at something like Darktide which is notoriously shitty and has limited content, enemy variety, stuff to do on missions with side objectives etc.. AND has an item mall where items cost $20 to look cool and you can only earn shitty recolors (at least such was the case last I played). DRG is much better and HD2 takes from that in some regards, but has some innovation in its own right.

Yeah everyone's aware of that. Basically the devs massively under planned for how many people would be playing and so the network infrastructure was shitty (partially because it had to comply with crossplay with PS5 too). They're fixing it, but its not perfect yet. However the underlying game itself is quite good and the whole thing gels together nicely, so people are more forgiving then if wasn't fun to play or had shitty microtransactions etc.

the queue is for validation with their internal server. "servers" alone have never been an issue. this poster
summarized what we were told best: the code they have internally was not built for this sheer capacity. they have to rewrite it and that means rewriting how the PC and PS servers are talking to one another too, essentially.
