Yeah lots of people honestly underestimate battle facilities, some of the most fun I've had in Pokemon is PKHeXing a bunch of random sets off Smogon (because lazy), and running different sets through the various facilities. The only part of the in-game experience that was consistently hard until they axed them in gen 9....

Gen 3 has none of the modern QoL shit added in new games, no bottle caps no mints, no mirror herb, no gen 6+ breeding mechanics, no exp candy, only the Macho brace and tedious EV grinding, single-use TM's. Frick all that shit man, I can make boxes of battle ready Frontier ready mons in a fraction of the time it would take me to try making a single passable one on a vanilla cart.

If you want to be legit, you should beat it without perfect IV mons. I don't see anything wrong with using pkhex to set your EVs / set your level to 100 / teach TMs. but if you edit the IVs then the mon is literally ilegal. It's not your pokemon anymore.
That said I don't fault you if you just want to mess around with a bunch of different sets. I did something similar about 10 years ago (hacked a shit ton of mons into gen 5 to see what I could send through bank to gen 6 lol.)

Niceeee. Yeah fair, PKHeX does have an IV randomize feature so I could always go that route if I felt like it, I'm in so deep though.

Even if you go back to it and swear you don't use the speedrun strat three and go in blind, learning your lessons as they end your streak it may take you a bit of time as an adult
t. completed Emerald legitimately without RNG manipulation and injection over 3 1/2 years of playing mostly on weekends
you can use shitter ones but they might miss certain ohkos which can be lethal or annoying
you can also pick up salamence instead if latios proves too annoying, metagross also covers its weaknesses fine
swampert is great and all but its the first slot you'll replace if you want to experiment lightly or are using latios/mence + metagross as a carry duo for a shitmon you want a ribbon on
Breeding pre-Gen 6 is aids, even with hacked parents. You're at the mercy of three IVs of RNG, plus nature RNG, plus potentially ability RNG. Yes you could just roll the dice thousands of times, but why?
I guess you've never bred on emerald, making sweepers with 2 perfect stats it's quite easy, now making defensive pokemon that's actual hell. But fast and raw offensive is mostly what is needed for BF, maybe a blissey in the Pike or the Pyramid
I remember doing this back in the day. I'd try to land the 3 inherited 31s on Hp/Atk stat/ Speed and settled with 20ish iv for the defs on sweepers.
For the BF I'd use some combination of Metagross, Milotic, Swampert, Tyranitar and Salamence. Bulky Milotic with recover was really good for the pyramid. Ttar with taunt and DD was good against some of the bosses where you knew their exact sets. Couldn't use Latios cause I previously caught it already and didn't want to restart my really old save.
Get a Suicune from Colo with good IVs instead of Swampert. Don't get the one in FRLG because of the roamer glitch making it so only the HP stat can be a 31.
I wish we had some challenge like this in modern games now that the Pokemon prepping part is so easy. Trying to solo the 7 star raids is kind of that but its not something you can come back to after they're gone. I would come back to emerald and try to clear all the facilities with large month or even year gaps between til I eventually got them all.

If you don't beat the BF with a team all bred or SR'd by yourself you are a pussy and a dumbass. Emerald has everything for you to accomplish it

players dont want these features, you want to split your time between gaming and tiktok, so theres no pont in having challenges in games
