Not going to re-watch the fight right now but likely the boss got stunned. The build in the demo used some stun grenades at times, and a freeze grenade.
Such abilities are intended to work on bosses.
Also is clearly a better boss fight than any in any Diablo game, and it's just an act mini boss. So not sure what argument you are trying to make here.

Spell echo is not commonly used. And there are other archetypes than melee or casters, no matter how many copes you come up with, the game annihilates your deranged copes. You can play trapper, mines, summoner, auto bomber, RF, archers - and many, many more archetypes that would never use multistrike or spell echo.

I think it's because in the beginning the itemization makes it too obvious you're wasting your time on a gear treadmill rather than progressing towards anything. You consume an item, to add an effect that does a flat amount of damage. It just screams "this is guaranteed to be obsolete soon" in a way other arpgs don't do.
Maybe some people enjoy the mindless number go up treadmill you can't build around, but I don't.

It's OK but generally too easy/boring. You can't go fast either (even skater feels meh). The loot is also not that interesting. There are some cool stats/mechanics but it's not that much fun to hunt for. The components+augments are rather tedious to apply every time you change gear. So... it's boring and slow, a bad combination. A lot of skills feel rather shit to use. You still can't fire BWC close to your feet without it sometimes blasting off in a random direction.

I couldn't into this game for the longest time. Then I started a Druid 2Her build that just one shot everything with an melee auto attack aoe. I played through normal difficulty including all the current expansions. Got me to around lvl 50 to 52.
Now I made an infiltrator aura + auto attack build. Played through normal and now i'm on act 2 of the campaign in Expert.
I think just finding the right build for me really made the difference.
But I guess i'm supposed to grind reputation for gear(?) for some reason. Which sounds tedious and boring. And I just refuse to do it. So if I get hardstuck for some reason i'm just going to quit the game and move on to something else.
Also, the diablo 2 clone mod for grim dawn is pretty neat.
Overall, I think the way you can build between two classes is it's main selling point and just trying out different builds.
But the graphics are really bland and ugly. ARPG gameplay just gets really boring after a while. It's pretty much just something to turn your brain off to every now and then.
I prefer grim dawn over poe just because I hate the seasonal bullshit in poe. Leaving the game then ever thinking about coming back just seems like too much of a hassle to get reacquainted with.

So... it's boring and slow, a bad combination. A lot of skills feel rather shit to use. You still can't fire BWC close to your feet without it sometimes blasting off in a random direction.

I couldn't into this game for the longest time. Then I started a Druid 2Her build that just one shot everything with an melee auto attack aoe. I played through normal difficulty including all the current expansions. Got me to around lvl 50 to 52.
Now I made an infiltrator aura + auto attack build. Played through normal and now i'm on act 2 of the campaign in Expert.
I think just finding the right build for me really made the difference.
But I guess i'm supposed to grind reputation for gear(?) for some reason. Which sounds tedious and boring. And I just refuse to do it. So if I get hardstuck for some reason i'm just going to quit the game and move on to something else.
Also, the diablo 2 clone mod for grim dawn is pretty neat.
Overall, I think the way you can build between two classes is it's main selling point and just trying out different builds.
But the graphics are really bland and ugly. ARPG gameplay just gets really boring after a while. It's pretty much just something to turn your brain off to every now and then.
I prefer grim dawn over poe just because I hate the seasonal bullshit in poe. Leaving the game then ever thinking about coming back just seems like too much of a hassle to get reacquainted with.

It took me a long time too. It was too slow, I was too stupid to really get the mechanics too. It eventually clicked for me and now it's by far my favorite arpg.

PoE has the better possibility to make interesting builds but it is just that, a possibility because all the interesting things are shitfrick expensive

Grim Dawn is very good and it's still getting better.
Titan Quest engine was truly a gem.
Played it from the beta when Warden was the only boss, and all through most of my university years.
Best build was Death Knight focusing on Life Steal but I think they're nerfing that.
Never tried Hardcore because I'm gay.
I was really wanting to play an ARPG, and installed Grim Dawn. I got bored and never went back after like 30 minutes. Not a single bit of fun was had in that 30 minutes.
