The act of having to jump onto a tiny platform, as a character that drops to the ground like a sack of bricks, with there being a 50/50 chance of you actually landing on it without slipping off the edge, is completely unacceptable for a platformer. I've died more to shit like leaving my thumb on the controller for a millisecond longer causing me to overjump an unbreakable crate that I needed to use as a platform to cross a gap more than the actual threats the game throws at you.
I’ve beaten it with all collectibles, it’s not a badge of honor to have flaws the original didn’t have. And both series clearly had the most effort put into the first game. Spyro 1 wins and despite the shitty remake music I mentioned, you can flip back to the original. Flawless victory.
>Spyro 1 is better >fricking up Sparx's gem detection >burnable grass obscures gems >fog when the entire point with Spyro 1 was to remove the need for fog entirely so you could always see the level in full so you could spot any missing gems >previously clear background now looks like it's part of the level since TFB populate the frick out of their levels making things a jumbled mess >the god awful changes to the environments that shows they don't understand frick all about Spyro's aesthetic >The moronic changes to enemies whether they become uglier or the censorship of guns
How do you make a technologically and aesthetically worse game than one released in 1998? HOW DO YOU FRICK UP WHEN THE GAME IS ALREADY THERE?
No, this is.
Inb4 >It's a remaster, not a remake!
It's a remake by definition, marketed as a remaster by EA because Petroglyph had the good sense to not change a goddamn thing without good reason.
The only good crash remake is CTR nitro fueled.
And the only good remakes are that, metroid zero mission, and any game you can toggle the original graphics on the go.
Resident evil are good sidegrades that you can play alongside the original but the originals are still vastly recommended to engage with the intended experience.
Any other remake is inferior.
etrian odyssey 2 untold >same dungeons as the original with minor QoL tweaks >new optional dungeon >upgraded mapping tools >moronic level cap mechanic removed >two new classes not in the original >optional game mode with a new story and preset characters >optional town management minigame >better graphics >new music style with the option to change to the old style >new songs get remixed into the old style
there's probably more but this is just off the top of my head
>How do we do a Crash remake or perfectly fine games? >Oh I know! Frick the color palette and add textures on its shorts!!
Shit remake. A fricking glitch fixes the colors for fricks' sake
I prefer it to the original trilogy. Cortex castle is the best platforming level I've ever played. The only thing they really fricked up on was hiding boxes and gems. Otherwise it was perfection

This one was pretty good and while it do anything wrong it made me realize how much the original used the limitations in such a great way and how that old style is hard to emulate.
Spyro 1 is better, probably, outside of the music getting ruined. At least it plays well.
>At least it plays well.
So does NS Trilogy.
>inb4 hitbox seethe
Skill issue.

The spyro remake is peak soulless.
You win nothing, we accept your concession.
bottom looks better
>ancient ruins show no moss nor signs of decay
>Spyro 1 is better

the spyro remakes suck ass sorry bru, S1R is only redeemable because it wasn't made by jeets
No. The physics are off.
The VAs were awful.
>The VAs were awful.
I don't know why they directed Kenny's "You gotta believe" line to be absolutely nothing like Parappa but I hate them for it
>No. The physics are off.
skill issue
yes
Ps1 is still better
soulless bandicoot
Super Mario All Stars
Trials of Mana
No because Crash 2 was completely butchered
No, this is.

I hate EA so goddamn much for this.

The undisputed greatest remake of all time.
They fricked up the fog effect.
1/10
>remastered
Not a remake.
>Not a remake.
worse graphics/bad specularity
gutted multiplayer effects
it's one of the worst anon
the third patch for the original made a better job than this "remaster"
No.

pokemon peaked right here
dogshit trial and error franchise for zoomers with brainrot
no surprise millennials have terminal moronation; they all played this filth
Why is Crash 3 so bad? I had fun woth 1 and 2 but for some reason all motivation was sapped out of me when I got to Warped.
Because what could be better than Crash 1?
Crash 2
>How do we do a Crash remake or perfectly fine games?
>Oh I know! Frick the color palette and add textures on its shorts!!
Shit remake. A fricking glitch fixes the colors for fricks' sake
spyro reignited is fricking great. Still better than every modern platformer.
Both Crash and Spyro are great remasters picked apart by contrarian tryhard nitpickers. No, the originals do not do anything better.
the original spyro trilogy is better than the remakes tho
>No, the originals do not do anything better.
>20 years old PS1 has better artstyle and aesthetic than its remake
Know your place, marsupial.
yeah probably
Spyro Trilogy
Mass Effect trilogy
Dark Souls
Uncharted trilogy
You clearly don't know the difference between remakes and remasters
Honestly, Crash 4 was good.
I don't understand the hate.
too difficult
Skill issue.
Cortex Castle is great yeah.
Slippery Climb deathless for the red gem is harder than anything in Crash 4.
I prefer it to the original trilogy. Cortex castle is the best platforming level I've ever played. The only thing they really fricked up on was hiding boxes and gems. Otherwise it was perfection
yes, you do
All the trailers advertised playing as multiple characters and having a story. I never gave it a chance from this alone.
you just reminded me to buy ctr racing. thanks
The best.
okay but when are they dropping the sly cooper reheat?
These are not good remakes. Both the visuals and the gameplay are poor.
They are both the same as the original, down to the bushes you find in levels.
>They are both the same as the original
>Different assets
Not the same. Nuances can be missed, now more than ever
This one was pretty good and while it do anything wrong it made me realize how much the original used the limitations in such a great way and how that old style is hard to emulate.
I prefer medievil resurrection to the original and this lel
